Has anyone else been invited to use this software here in Incredible section? I got my invite the other day and FORGOT! that I had it till today. I am going to check out the app inventor section here in XDA but wanted to know if there was anyone closer to home with it?
I played with it a little, went through a couple tutorials. It works as advertised. When I get some free time I'll dig in deeper

Can you upload the software? Is there any way its locked down to only the people who got invites?
The software works in 2 parts - a web app that handles the gui, and a java app that handles functionality and talks to the phone.
The java app is launched by the web interface, which you sign into with your gmail account. So, unless you have an invite, no go.

I signed up, hell, long time ago and never got an invite. Oh I wish for it though.
I signed up when I heard about it, I got my invite like two weeks ago... but, I have no idea what to try and make.

I had a GREAT idea for an app and signed up. It's been weeks with no response and now I've forgotten what I was going to do.

I always get my beta invites quick from Google. I think it has to do with the fact that I have been with them since 2004 with gmail. I got a Google Voice invote one day after a request last year, and a Google Wave invite within a few days last year. Or I'm just lucky.
Anyways, anybody have any good app ideas they want to see? I really want to get to know this software and have a few good ideas so far like a copy/paste section implemented in the drop down notifier. Where you can paste text or pictures for easy access to copy to another program, you wouldn't have to copy/paste one big section you could copy and paste to the notifications bar what you want and then paste them later. I also want to get a good Google Voice Text app that looks a little better than stock. What do you think?

All of you that have signed up but got no notice will want to try to login anyways as that is what I did. I signed up as soon as the announced it and tried yesterday even though I did not get a response saying I was invited and was able to login and play around for a bit.
I got my invite the other day and have already created an app for my Church. We stream our service live. We have a iphone app for it and now we have a android app for it
So I was playing around with three tutorials and figured out the sms party I just need to figure out how to have it call google voice not the phones standard sms. Any ideas?

I had a good idea for an app on BB when I was using it and I would still like it on android.... It is an alarm where to make it snooze you have to draw a pattern or put together a small puzzle to either turn off you're alarm or snooze.. I even had a good name that a dev from BB gave me "Snooze control" Feel free to make it if you want all I want is a free copy.
I got an invite when they first went out (I signed up the day they announced it.) I roll my own short URLs (similar to bit.ly but with my own 3 letter domain.)
With little coding experience to draw upon, I created a fully skinned app that connects to my API and shortens any URL I submit via the app. Pretty fantastic functionality and I only see it getting better as they get feedback on it and continue to refine the process.
It's very liky to do with this. I'll still waiting for an invite, maybe very long...

What are the best office apps? (docs, spreadsheets, etc)
I am compiling a list of the best apps of each category, so leave your opinion and a quick reason to help out the community.
If the app costs $, be sure to say so!
I have not tested any but here are some good ones I've read about to get started.
Documents to go
Quick Office
Office Suite
Hopefully some of you guys have tried them all and know the best!
Docs to go seems best for me

docs are pretty badass
Docs to go +1
I have docs to go and quick office and quick office is the only one that allows you to edit docs with headers in them.
+1 for Docs to go too.
The free app is useful, but if you want to edit them or create a new one, it'll cost you $15. But it's money well spent!
i have all the 3 . -
PROS -
office suite has better editing options and the only one that can open password protected docs .
Can insert images in documents.
Quick office - i mainly use it as a search tool.. fast search and opens files.
Documents to go.. i wasted my money.. really dissappointed ( coming from windows mobile ) . hopefully their updates in future will add more options.
I've tested Docs to Go and Quick Office. Docs to Go was the best but I find it isn't as good as WM Office Mobile for the moment.
There's also OliveOfficeEditor and OliveOfficeViewer. I can't say I really tested them. Just installed, didn't like and uninstalled within 5min.
Bump guys

I'm looking for the one that came on my cappy (at least, I think it did) but it's not on my rom. I'm using OliveOffice right now and it's okay, but if anyone has the apk for the cappy or SGSII and wouldn't mind sharing, it would be greatly appreciated.

oOkay, so many know of or have used qtweeter for iPhone. I loved it on my iPhone 4 and now that I have the Thunderbolt its the last thing I need to make it perfect. I don't want to hear a lot of people saying oh iphones better, or android kicks iphones butt. Both platforms are good in their own rights. I just want to know if anyone has any good alternatives to qtweeter for android.and no I don't want widgets. im using launcher 7 and widgets don't look very nice on it.
Do you find any replacment App on Android? I searching, too. I love qtweeter without a timeline sms für simultan Picture Uploader go Twitpic (Twitter) and to a Facebook Album (Facebook Wall).

Hey guys, I recently just decided to join the Dropbox/ Cloud storage initiative. I found the best possible Cloud storage service called SugarSync.
The best thing about it, is that unlike Dropbox, You can sync any folder on your pc, as well as having a Universal folder that syncs with every device like Dropbox.
The second best thing is that you get 5GB of storage instead of 2GB, and upto 32GB through referrals, unlike 16GB in Dropbox.
The last thing I love is that with SugarSync you can Sync entire folders with your phone unlike Dropbox, where you can only sync a file at a time.
Anyway instead of me talking about it have a try for yourself. Just click on this link SugarSync, to get 5.5GB storage instead of the 5GB that comes with it, or click the link in my Signature.
Hope you like it as much as I do.
Nice referral link
This being said, SugarSync is definitely a great service. It's very reliable and a feature I particularly like is that if you get a paid account, you can share that account's space with other accounts, unlike DropBox which would rather push their business option.
Well with the referral link you get the extra 500MB of storage, which you wont otherwise.
I myself searched for someone that has a referral link before I signed up, so I can get the extra storage
I just like how Sugarsync syncs entire contents of folders with your mobile device, the separate folders sync is secondary, but still great as helps you be organised instead of making Dropbox you root directory for music, documents, etc, this way your pc remains as it is, and you simply sync it online. I have a netbook which I use for uni, and for me the fact that i can sync my assignments across both computers is essential
I would agree to op for the thread. I love both the services for the fact that both are just great.
Ps: looks like thread is posted in the wrong section :/

I posted here as SugarSync is also an Android Application, that Syncs your photos, videos, and data to the cloud. It even has automatic photo and video upload as soon as you take a pic, record video, if you choose to enable it of course.
Also has anyone read about the latest dropbox.security leak. http://www.engadget.com/2012/08/01/dropbox-confirms-security-breach-new-measures/

Ye I got 40 people saying they registered, but only 5 out of them said they completed and I got the extra space. Maybe those people didnt install the software?
Can the next person who signs using my link and installs the software and registers let us know on here, to c if it works
Ye so far I got some people I invited working as extra bonus, so maybe others just havent installed SugarSync on their pcs. The only thing left to improve by them is Linux support
https://www.sugarsync.com/sync_comparison.html
I created a faux email to test it out. Logged on my phone downloaded the app uploaded a photo with it and everything and still getting pending activation.

Ye its not with the phone, you have to download the pc version apparently, but I just signed up my friend in front of me using my link and installed windows version, etc, and I have not gotten the extra space. So I have emailed support regarding this, so hopefully they will sort it out soon. Im sure its just some sort of error, and at the end of the day, Sugarsync is still a winner in my books.
Yeah I also sent them an email. Lets hope this gets figured out:/

Ye one of my friends just appeared as extra space, and he activated the account about 10 hours ago, so maybe it takes time. But I got about 50 registered referrals, and only 14 activated, so I don't know, It cant be so many people deciding not to install the software or have linux

It looks like tablets only... Says its compatible for my tablet but not the infuse. We could try, but those widgets look like they would be too big, only fitting like two on each screen.
$10.00 - 3 star user reviews - for tablets - think I'll pass.
Got it working

Its definitely not ideal running it on the smaller screen. But very different and cool to try out.

That's quite interesting - nice job getting it to work! I really like the look from the screenshots you and others have posted of this launcher. It seems like a very nice cross between most current Android launchers and Windows Phone 7 launcher... but just the good parts!
I agree though, it's a bit tough to swallow $10 for most apps, especially since this was on Kickstarter which means people donated cash to get it developed... I wonder how much money the developers have ponied up out of their own pockets...
Either way, that's a nice looking launcher - I'm interested to see where it goes in the future!
I didn't pay $10.
Just testing it out. It's actually really nice after changing the DPI. Much more use able. I especially like how you can set different home pages and set times or locations for them to show up. For example home and work, you can set different layouts and have them automatically switch when your at that location or a set time. Very useful!

Completely different! Sizeable widgets take up most of the page. You can make your own custom widgets too. With the DPI set at 160 you can get three icon shortcuts on the bottom, but you can swipe left or right to show hidden ones.

Hopefully they didn't have to give up any of their own money, that's kind of the beauty of kickstarter for projects such as this. Just because it was crowd funded it doesn't mean it needs to be free to those who didn't donate a thing.

I definitely agree with this statement. Why should the developers have to put up a single cent of their money? In the real world developers get paid for the work that they do. The beauty of Android is that these developers can come home from work and develop an app either for fun or on the side for extra income. Tons of quality apps get distributed either for free or for a minimal fee. Don't get spoiled by that. This is a quality app that is aiming to be the center of your phone on a daily base.
If this was another free app people would be lauding the developers for their hard work and anticipating what this app could become with further development. I'm sure plenty of people would be willing to donate at least $10 or more via a donate link. They are simply asking for money so that they can focus more time towards the development of an application that they believe people will get more than $10 worth of usage out of.
Think about what that money from kickstarter purchased? It wasn't code... you can't just go out and purchase the code for your app. Kickstarter gives developers the money they need so that they can have an income for their coding work. If a developer wants Android app development to be his/her main focus then they either need to already have a hit app on the market before they quit their day job, take out a loan so that they can support themselves while they develop their hit idea, or crowd source to fund the app. Yeah, as it was stated "people donated cash to get it developed", but as I see it those people kickstarted this app so that they could see it become a reality and get their hands on it. Not so other people could get it cheaper.
Now is the $10 price range for everyone? no. But I don't see how it could be considered priced out of proportion. If the user plans on using this app on a daily basis, and see regular development of new features then they are definitely getting their money out of it. I've seen teenagers with no income drop 5-10x that amount on a piece of software, albeit those are usually games, but productivity software usually comes with a higher price tag anyways. Would I like to see the price of this software drop in half? Definitely, but I can still respect that it has enough value in the application for the price tag to be warranted.
Onto the main subject of this post. I'm currently testing v1.1 out on my old T-Mobile G2 running JB. Even though it's an older phone this app runs beautifully on it. DPI definitely had to be adjusted for this tablet oriented app to run fit properly on my phone (set it at 160 from 240), but once that is done everything fits nearly perfect. The only qualm I have with running this on a phone is the dock. Hopefully with further development they will come out with a phone version that allows a bit more customization on the dock. I'm only able to get three icons to appear at a time (six in landscape) due to everything being compressed down to my smaller screen size. Mix in some of Nova/Apex launcher's dock features and this app would be prime for phone use. I just installed this on my phone last night, so I'll get back to everyone once I have a better feel on how this launcher works out on day to day use in a phone environment.
I see Dots!
I prefer Circle Launcher light. It's free, customizable and I like the circles.... :highfive:
This launcher looks cool.
I would like to try if this launcher is not to slow.
How is your experience with this launcher?

its kind of pointless with such a small screen, your basically making it into a windows live tile theme and you can just download those from market
