[GAME] Juggle Soccer - Android Apps and Games

Hello,
This is my very first post he has two goals:
-My first app Juggle Soccer (2.2 and more):
I can't put a direct link yet (first post), my app is "Juggle Soccer" on android market.
I want your opinion on the reality of displacement of the ball.
Small issue at hand, On my Developer Console
0 total
0 active installs (0%)
Yet, I have on my addmob 2.500 requests, I upload the application yesterday 12:00.

Hey, just downloaded it. But 2 things.
1. If you get a tapping rhythm going the ball just goes up and down in the same place, but the accuracy is good. But it's really easy to get a high score.
2. Hitting the top bar (the ad) makes the ball speed down to the floor, dunno if thats a bug. I'll upload a video in a few minutes.

1. That is normal, may be I have to upgrade the difficulty ?
2. with skill you can take it again ! that is hard
I will upgrade new version soon with new font and for android 2.1 +

before update I want to change font, but i have trouble with:
assets/fonts/JABJAIHEAVY.ttf
Typeface font1 = Typeface.createFromAsset(getAssets(),"fonts/JABJAIHEAVY.ttf");
that doesnt work, my app just down, I try with arial.ttf, that crash too
DID IT !
just put .ttf on assets directly...

[GAME] Dot Boy - very hard platformer!

Hey guys, I just finished up this game, I'd appreciate it if you guys could check it out and let me know what you think!
The controls do take a little time to get used to so if you die on your first try don't be discouraged.
apk link - http://www.mediafire.com/?6suhhfks72pnj
Added apk download link to OP. I didn't realize coupon codes wouldn't work for apps.
Thanks for sharing. It's fun that you wrote this game on age 10 and did port it to Android.
Some questions:
I've only played it till world 2, but are there only six levels in the version on the market?
A question about the permissions: Why does it need full internet access?
Some recommendations:
- explanation about the controls, at first I didn't noticed them on the screen.
- explanation about how to play the game in the game. I've downloaded the apk so I've missed the explanation on the market.
- decrease the speed so the controls become less "sensitive". When you're standing on the edge and want to turn around on a fairly small block, the chance is big you'll fall off. I don't think capacitive controls are accurate enough for such a sensitivity.
- ability to save. Because people play games on there phone to kill time. But mostly this if only for a few minutes and then you don't want to start at world 1 every time.

Thanks for the feedback. The apk I posted and the Market version are the same - there are 6 worlds, and each world has 4 levels, so there are a total of 24 levels. It has the internet permission because I had originally planned to put Admob ads in it.
I like your idea about letting people save. There is actually a "resume" button if you quit in the middle of a game (not including when you get a game over). I think it would be good to let people choose which world to start at though, so they can start at any world that they've already reached.
I also agree about the controls, this is where I had the most trouble because in the PC version it's a lot easier to control with a keyboard. I'll try to fix them so they work better.
I'll add a "how to play" screen. Do you think it's necessary even in the Market version, do a lot of people download an app without reading the description?

Okay, I thought there were only 6 levels. Maybe it is also good to mention on the market that it includes a total of 24 levels so people know what they're buying.
It is indeed a good idea to let people select the world that they want to play. Most games you have to unlock the world first by completing all previous levels at least once.
If you going to make a how to play screen anyway, I should also update your game on the market. I think most people will read the description when they're buying an app or game on the market. Only with free apps and games people click on install fairly quick without reading I think.
If you've updated the game please let me know. I shall take another look and let you know what I think about the improvements.

i agree with everything above, especially the sensitivity of the controls.
other than that, nice start.
Definitely going to try this later
Edit: downloaded and loved the game, takes me back to the contra and castlevania era where controls had to be perfect or you die. With that though I do agree with the first post talking about the sensitivity of the controls, I love being able to use my wiimote to play games like this. Also like the first post I had no idea the controls were on screen, an in game tutorial would be nice. Great game though and I can't wait to beat it so you can start working on part two now
very retro
The market link isn't working and the alternate downloading site keeps saying "Error downloading file. Retrying..." :/ The game looked interesting, too.
31/8: Nvm. I guess Mediafire was messing up last night. Everything I tried to download from there was having the Error message.

[Q] Coin Pirates hack?

Coin Pirates has moved over to the Android platform, so lets start examining the xml file. In Coin Dozer thats the way to get unlimited coins.
Has anybody found a way to hack Coin Pirates
I tried to change several lines (not at the same time, of course) but no luck.
On the iPhone there is an hack as listed here: http://xsellize.com/topic/123614 But of course this wont be working on the Android platform.
Anyone?
up ^^
I'm also interested
I have successfully hacked Stardunk, My Country and coin dozer. I am looking currently at this one - because you asked for it.
The game's data is encoded. It is a really nice byte shift encoding too. This will not be performable out of the box...will see about decoding the file.
Nice piece of information till an extent..Really good work..Thanks alot for the thread..
The one thing i havent found yet is where it stores its actual game data...because even without the pref file it knows the last data. Is it storing it in the apk its self? that didn't make any sense to me so I dont know...
If someone has an idea on this. I'm looking through its source right now to see what i can find.
anyone find anything about hacking coin pirates?
the game has become irretating
I found a trick to get a VERY good start with this game!
It only works the first time you install the game.
Follow these steps before you install this game,..or erase game data in app manager. Note that you will start from the beginning again if you allready had a game in progress.
Disable all network connections (switch to airplain mode)
Set your devices clock back in time.. lets say 1 year!
install the game(or erase your game data) and start playing.
Just spend all your coins as quickly as possible try to hit the slots!
as soon as you reach 0 coins.. go to your date settings (quick and easy to do with task manager)
Set your date one day further in time.
Go back to game (task manager again)
now you will get 50 coins for free, because the game thinks you haven’t been playing for one day !!
you can repeat step 4 to 8 for 365 times (if you want) to get 365 x 50 coins!
The game can only give you max score of 50 coins,.. so you really have to spend the coins each time,.. but at least you can keep playing until you hit the jackpot 1 or 2 times, so you have enough coins and set your date back to the correct date and activate your networks again.
worked for me after reinstalling the game on my phone and used this method to go to the same level (but with much more items collected) that I had before in just 1 hour!
Hope it works for you to!

Hi,
I've tried your game a little bit and would like to point out some things, which, in my opinion could be improved:
* main menu text is really hard to read in colorful background, maybe adding an background views, rounding them and making white with transparency, would help. I'm not a big fan of that font either, but that's a matter of taste.
* ad area view is larger than the ad itself, doesn't look good
* what's the point of having to drop all the obstacles from fixed height? It looks like it's only to demonstrate that there is physics in the game and make the construction more difficult than it needs to be
* first time playing I had no idea about ninjas and where are they attacking from maybe some in-game guide lines would help or maybe a way to try their attack angles before placing all objects
* I can't scroll level list if I start scrolling on a level button (that fires an event to go to the level)
* Some animal animations (hurt/happy/falling) would be nice

1) ya right i will add something like button behind this text
2)on which device you are i have test it in three devices in none it is outside of actual ad
3) thats necessary just imagine how it would be if you have to directly put the object where you want also that can create some weird issue what if one put object on top of other object also by doing this it will make some what accuracy to drop the object as because of physics you have to calculate little bit
4) i had written it clearly in android market description seems no one is reading that may be one extra screen shot in instruction can help
5) that's why there is no button at right side
6) not possible because that needs designer and with my current earning it is even hard to afford dog or cat even dare to say mouse so no chance for designer

2. I've tested it on Galaxy Tab 7 and then on Galaxy Tab 10 (in this case ad area is even more "outside of ad"
4. Well, still, I mean there's no indication of possible danger to poor animal when you start your first game And, it's true, no one reads market descriptions and I don't think many are looking for game play instructions there either.
5. Wrong answer, really. I'll write a bit more below.
6. I completely understand you there
So, to elaborate more on points 4 and 5, I think you should give your game to as many friends as possible (and it's best if they haven't tried it yet) and just let them try to play. You'll see how differently they think and behave in a game environment being there for the first time. In my case (simple running/jumping game) I was surprised to see them just blindly tapping all over the screen trying to do "anything" and, despite the fact that there's instructions in the start of every level, they had a hard time finding out that game character can do double jumps and will jump higher if they hold finger instead of tapping it.
In your game, gameplay is much more complex, so tutorial with clear instructions is a must, in my opinion.
As for game level select, I can asure you, that 9 of 10 will try to scroll the button list, not the side, where is no indication that it's scrollable and nothing to scroll there.
Also, I've experienced, that in the start of some levels animals are being affected by physics (or maybe a wind?) and starts to roll, sometimes falling from the platforms. I don't know if it's intentional or not, but it makes level unnecessary hard.
Ah, one more thing.. I'm not sure that asking users for a 5 star rating is a good idea. In many levels.
And, lastly, take my advice with a grain of salt, since I'm just an amateur developer, still learning all these little things: what can annoy your app user and what can make them happy.
2) ya may be i cant see that is out side of ad because i have all device with small screen 3.2 to 3.5 inch so in large screen it will totally visible.
3) yup i will add extra screenshot to with ninja and darts to show animals are in danger from ninja
4) well thinking to add scroll bar somewhat like in browser to move how will be that
also the idea to try game on friends will be much better i will definitely. use that from now
"

yup 100% intentional need to be fast to solve those levels
"Ah, one more thing.. I'm not sure that asking users for a 5 star rating is a good idea. In many levels."
well i am not giving popup in middle of the game so definitely it will not annoy user but i am asking every time at the time of exit to give rate until they give rate thought user will give rating if they dont like this just crazy experiment with not much good result
one more game
guys you can also try my other game "feed fruit to the animal'

[GAME][2.2+] Tap the numbers

Hello devs,
Some time ago I decided to put some efforts to android development. I've spend some time to learn and to develop my first small casual game. Once I completed it I posted the APK file to Google Play. Suddenly I got no rush of downloads, till now I have only 20 users playing this game. I'm not disappointed, I want to improve the game but I don't know that to do first. I don't want to spend money to get better design because this game have not earned at least 1 dollar at the moment.
The idea of the game is to tap numbers in ascending order one by one. My own record in 1:35 mins.
My ideas:
- Scores plus sharing to Twitter/Facebook.
- Customize count of numbers on the screen. Could also be separated to levels from Easy(4*5 numbers) to Hard(10*10)
- Add hint if the user is not able to find number in 5 secs
- Allow user to turn of color and font size - just use one in case user wants this
- Use server-side stats to compare results from different users
- Make promo-video
I'm not sure do I have good description and screenshots ? Is it interesting at all to play ? Maybe the whole idea is bad.
I want to get a feedback from all of you.
I cannot post external links to Market, so it's id is com.intorion.memorygame and name Tap The Numbers.

[GAME][2.2+] Tank War 1.0

Hi every one,
i present to you my first game ever on Android using HTML5 technology,
Tank War is an arcade/action game in which you use your tank to destroy loads of ennemy,
for now the game includes 12 levels with 2 Boss Levels,
Each level completion rewards you with gold you can use to upgrade your tank with several option such as :
- speed
- shield regeneration
- shield capacity
- guns cooling rate
- Ultime Tank
Your lifes are limited and you gain one every 30min when there are under 3, but you can also use 100gold from the game to buy a pack of five
Since i do every aspect of the game by myself there is no sound for the moment but it shall come with a next version as well as new levels and upgrades.
Download link on Play Store :
play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.insomniakdev.tankwar
the game being packaged through cocoonJs by Ludei it asks for many permissions (can't change that at the moment) but only Internet Access, Storage access are used.
All feedbacks are welcomed
I may be not agile enough, but it's really difficult to survive more then 10 seconds. Maybe it makes sense to create training mode for beginners?

Hi thanks for the feedback, i guess you are right many people told me the game was too hard,
i'll add a tutorial in the next version coming quite soon ( but i'm developping another game in the same time so it might take some time )
i''ll update my post then, see ya
Update 18/04/2013 :
Version 1.1 is released
contains 6 more levels with new ennemies,
also made gold rewards for levels a little higher to get upgrades faster,
a few game fixes too
Also here's my website registering my games insomniak-dev.com
no beginner's mode yet but it is planned for next version
Enjoy
All feedbacks are welcomed
I've used CocoonJS in my game as well
I tried your game and it seems to me that it's not very comfortable to pause the game by double tapping on the screen. The game gets paused even if I rapidly tap 2 different places on the screen (for example, top left corner and bottom right corner). I think it would be more handy to pause and resume the game with Android back button, a lot of Android games have such control (I also did this way in my game).
Good luck with your game!
