I have noticed while using the Nav it will go with me for about one second then it will freeze for about 3. Is this common? I did not have this on my x it was smooth graphics the whole time. I am rooted but it was like this before I was hoping rooting and overclocking would get rid of it but I tried rooted stock, overclocked, and now on bamf 1.5 and still the same. Any tricks to help?

I don't know if the phone is supposed to do this or what, but it only does it every once in awhile.
I hit the back button or home button, and it goes to the white mytouch screen, and reloads everything. Its real annoying, and takes 15-20 seconds to start back up. Is this a legit problem? Or is this how it is supposed to be.

Mine does that too sometime. Only when I just got done using a cpu intensive app though usually.
Are u on virtuous quatro
Not even rooted. All stock. It just did it.. lol. It goes back to the mytouch screen for about five seconds then opens the homepage for about ten seconds and says "loading".

I hear what you are saying with an "cpu intensive" app, but this is a dual core phone!! I had my g2 overclocked to 1.2ghz, and it never did that.. surely there is a problem with this phone.
Sent from my myTouch_4G_Slide using xda premium
The problem is the phone dont have enough RAM to keep home in the memory, being dual core has nothing to do with it, HTC is still setting some memory options too aggresive so home gets killed out for all the other apps to run. All this is things that can be changed with a little scripting and some build.prop edits

That makes a little more sense. I mean, the cpu in these phones should never be overloaded. The first thing I noticed when I got my phone was that, and wondered why it did it. Surely in testing they had to have seen it, then that leads to the question, why release an unfinished product? They spit these phones out like nothing, with what seems little to no testing. Pretty pathetic, for the people who spend hundreds of dollars on these little devices expecting a superior product. Maybe that's why they are handing them out like candy to all of us g2 owners.

I'd say, root the phone and load up the MIUI port on your phone, it's the most stable rom for now, every other rom i tried, I keep getting these reboots and they get annoying. However, i'm still waiting for virtuous team to roll out a steady and stable rom for this phone
then your on the newest radio...from the latest OTA update.....thats not stable with most Roms/kernels flash this radio http://a.22aaf3.com/doubleshot/radio/10.48.9007.00U_10.12.9007.07/PG59IMG.zip

Factory reset....most likely your kernel wasn't installed properly
I don't think a factory reset re-installs the kernel does it?
I thought it just wipes all the data?

+1. Also keeping my phone from going into deep sleep

Have you tried the SkyICS rom? So far that has been the best battery performance I have had on ANY rom.

The part that scares me is messing with the APN settings. Embryo ROM seemed like the most cut and dry install.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using Tapatalk 2
I flashed mine this week. I didn't have to fool around with the APN settings. I believe Seanz (the developer of the SkyICS ROM) has those in there. I believe that maybe sometimes they might accidentally get wiped so...he provides the details in case they need to be typed back in. It's a great ROM and relatively easy to install (I say relatively because as of three days ago I knew nothing about flashing ROMS, now I've done mine a few times (base plus updates and screen and battery mods)).
GO for it!!
Found out that google play music was keeping me from going into deep sleep. Now my phone easy gets 24+ hours on medium-heavy usage

It gets to the point where I can't scroll down it lags so bad and then it eventually force closes. I've only heard one other person complain of this same issue with a semi solution of force closing it and clearing out cache in app manager, but it happens so frequently now. Ugh. Anyone else have this problem and maybe a possible solution?
yeah my xda app does the same thing (tapatalk hosted I think) I was wondering the same thing.

There has been threads on this.. i think the new version is broken..esp on picture heavy threads
Ran like crap on my Inc with ICS too. Just installed today's update of XDS, hopefully it's better.

Yes this is a dupe, something isn't coded properly in the app it seems. Hopefully the last update fixed it, I haven't had any issues since the update.
Edit: update did not fix it, mine just started lagging again.

Mine works great, even on pic heavy threads.
I've had the last 2 or 3 rapid fire updates. But I haven't had any issues w/ tapatalk ever.
Tapatalk has been ****ty for the last few weeks. The most recent update seems to have cured most issues, although I have the occasional lockup still.
Def not a gs3 problem though. My note and razr do the same thing.

Mine still slowed down after the update

When this happens to me I just kill the app and reopen it and its much smoother.
Sent from my Thrive using Tapatalk 2
Seems like when I ask it to do something before it's finished loading, it crashes.
Other than testing my patience, it's chugging along just fine for me. I rarely use it though.
It's the app and not our phones. Same thing happens on Nexus 7 using Jelly bean, which is super smooth in every other app. I'm half tempted to just use the website but XDA is a pretty heavy Site.

Happens to me also

I have more of a issue that I saw the CPU used to jump to 30+% while idle
Not for me! I just came from the Motorola razr and tapatalk ran like crap on that! Runs like a dream on the gs3
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
This is why I use XDA Free 1.4.2
Didn't have any of these problems. I edited the app name so that it wouldn't bug me for updates and I've been a happy camper since!
Sent from my SCH-I535 using XDA App
Tapatalk = garbage. Xda needs to get a mobile site so we don't have to use this trash.
When this starts happening, I suggest you go to the applicationxmanager and clear the cache for tapatalk. Clearing the cache has considerably helped the app perform fadter and smoother overall.

I'm having an issue with the back hardware key while using the stock internet browser. Sometimes, the button brings me back to the page I was on previously, but other times it just reloads the current page. This gets frustrating, as to go back ill have to hit the back button 10-15 X at times. Also, hitting "back" under the menu produces the same effect.
I know some websites have some way of directing you back to their page when you try to go back, as I've experienced this in my desktop. But this seems to be happening at random. I suppose I can't say for sure that it's the browser and my the website though. I've noticed this on the stock att rom, venom, and now infobar. Has anyone else experienced this?
I would try some different browsers, but it's nice having the stock browser log into my Gmail immediately and retrieve my bookmarks after flashing a new rom...

Have you tried using zram in the kernel? (ElementalX kernel) It has helped me with the "reloading" problem.

It's not a reloading problem, it is a problem of trying to go back one page.

Bump? This is bugging the hell out of me. Running the latest viper with bulletproof v2. I haven't messed around with zram...didn't work so hot when I had it while running elemental.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
Short of downloading dolphin browser or some other that you may prefer, there is really no fix. The browser is closing the windows behind you as you leave them. You might try a clean install and stock or vanilla kernel. Bulletproof gave me a few issues when I tried it.

I notice this too. My best advice would be a third party browser. Use Chrome perhaps? I like the stock browser. I just got into the habit of bringing up history and jumping back that way. It also reduces the amount of time and data wasted on pressing back through several pages.
So I tried the Moonraker Rom yesterday, was awesome IMO. I just had one issue, when I would reboot my phone it would register my battery as dead and shut off before reaching the UI. But if I plugged it in, turned it on, then unplugged it it would read the correct percentage and stay that way until reboot. Is there a fix for this floating around? Kinda reminds me of the depressing "iOS x.x.xx tethered jb" days lol. Thanks in advance

Yes, no, maybe so? I'm currently using "dr no v3.0" and its great. Smooth, reliable, fast. But I would really like to experiment with the moonraker rom, just don't want to deal with the battery issue, am I the only one having it?

Pretty sure it was a log issue. I cleared battery logs with a recalibrator and it didn't happen anymore.
