Putting movies on g2x - T-Mobile LG G2x

Hi I was wondering if any one could give me a break down on how to put movies on my g2x.
Like where to get hd movies.
How to convert if needed.
And where to store the movies on my phone.
Thanks any help is appreciated

Convert or download MP4's and transfer them to a external micro SD preferably. If you don't have a micro SD then just transfer them to the built in memory by hooking the supplied USB cable to your computer. A couple movies will fill up your built in memory pretty quick though.

No, I don't download any movies. I just convert my Bluerays and DVD's.

Use Handbrake to convert your DVDs to .mp4. I would just use the resolution default once the movie loads up, convert it and it should be good.

Usenet but based on the fact that you didn't know how to put things on your memory card I would say that's a bit out your league
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA App

Actually since this device will play Divx out of the box with no addons Divx will be your best bet and is also better quality than MP4's.

actually there should be no discussion of downloading movies here. come on guys.
the correct answer was given.
but one has to mention its against rules to have that discussion.
so no im not trolling.
however if youve burned your own collection to CONVERT ive found format factory to be extraordinary.

I thought android phones can play almost any format depends on which player you uses.

Use 480p (854x480, 800x450, or 640x480) if you want to convert.
G2x accepts mp4 and wmv formats.

Just tested vplayer, and it doesn't play multiple files nor a folder.
Single movie file only.

Does DLNA do the same as HDMI Out? For example, if I wanted to mirror my phone on tv could I do that?

No it's not quite as good as HDMI mirroring dlna is limited to the way it outputs. Your better using hdmi mirroring. You can't not mirror it like HDMI dlna is more like streaming from one device to another

with hdmi nmirroring you can mirror your games or streaming video to the tv. dlna is limited to files on your phone.
Ah, alright guys. Do you have any recommendations for HDMI cables? I need something around 3 feet long.
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA App
U have to connect ur phone and tv to the same network, with a wireless N router, I have a G router and it's too slow. Then when playing a video (not youtube, a video file from ur memory card) then click menu our long press the video, u'll see an option play with, and u'll see the name of ur tv and select it

PS3 stream via USB

Is there anyway to stream through a ps3 via our Skyrocket. I have been unable to find an app or another way to do it. My gf doesn't have wifi so I'm trying to figure this out. I notice the ps3 recognizes our device and will open a folder called digital camera movies but doesn't recognise any video in the dcim folder. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you ever tried using a flash drive on a ps3? Same idea. You just press triangle and then click display all! I hope this helps!
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using awesomesauce
Make a folder called video or music or pictures and it will see it. Feel free to google the ps3 folder syntax
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727R on Alien ICS #8
The problem with the flash drive is that it will only recognize fat32 and I didn't have one available. I still think this would be a great thing to figure out and would help a lot of us out who don't want to deal with Cinavia or the like. It might be a good work around. I tried different things with the folder syntax and couldn't find anything to work. The only thing the ps3 would recognize was that digital camera videos folder. It wouldn't recognize pics or anything else.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using XDA
You can also reformat the USB drive to fat32 just an idea bro.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
I think either way on the ps3 once your up to date on the lastest release you have to deal with cinavia how ever its spell, its part of the os.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
Yea, try using mHL adapter to hdmi, because cinavia is going to block audio, even if you just stream
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using XDA
It would still be nice to learn some way to just stream the video from the means that we have via USB like you could do with a flash drive. I worked on it all night tonight and will continue the good fight tomorrow.
