[Q] App to play movies? - Nexus S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
Is there any app that can play a list of movie files?
Or I can select a folder and it will play all movie files inside one by one?
Thanks ...

RockPlayer

How?
I tested it. Open a folder with bunch of movies. Played the first one, then it stop.

Just tested vplayer, and it doesn't play multiple files nor a folder.
Single movie file only.

I know there was a DailyMotion app for Android but it was horrible and is now even unavailable. I was wondering if there is an app we can use to download/view videos.
Any help will be greatly appreciated!
I use keepvid.com but there are many other sites to download the videos you want.

Putting movies on g2x

Hi I was wondering if any one could give me a break down on how to put movies on my g2x.
Like where to get hd movies.
How to convert if needed.
And where to store the movies on my phone.
Thanks any help is appreciated

Convert or download MP4's and transfer them to a external micro SD preferably. If you don't have a micro SD then just transfer them to the built in memory by hooking the supplied USB cable to your computer. A couple movies will fill up your built in memory pretty quick though.

No, I don't download any movies. I just convert my Bluerays and DVD's.
Use Handbrake to convert your DVDs to .mp4. I would just use the resolution default once the movie loads up, convert it and it should be good.

Usenet but based on the fact that you didn't know how to put things on your memory card I would say that's a bit out your league
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA App
Actually since this device will play Divx out of the box with no addons Divx will be your best bet and is also better quality than MP4's.
actually there should be no discussion of downloading movies here. come on guys.
the correct answer was given.
but one has to mention its against rules to have that discussion.
so no im not trolling.
however if youve burned your own collection to CONVERT ive found format factory to be extraordinary.

I thought android phones can play almost any format depends on which player you uses.

Use 480p (854x480, 800x450, or 640x480) if you want to convert.
G2x accepts mp4 and wmv formats.

Sorry, I never used this one. But why don't you try the ASUS apps? MyNet for example will show all local and networked files and play them (audio and video).
I realy like the look of the android music app

Then you should try cubed (³) from the market! It is even more awesome.
PS: There is no use liking the appearance of an app if it doesn't work or doesn't do what you need it to do so you might wanna bite the bullet and use a different app...

I don't have WiFi access and I want a replacement to be a default player
-Thank You for your reply
Go to play.Google.com and search for a music player you like. Post it here and I'll grab the apk for you and explain how to replace the default one.

Play Music app

I don't know if this has been brought up already but this is really annoying me, can't seem to find the answer. Does anyone know how to fix the horrible grey background that's appearing in the music app, I've attached a picture to show what I mean. I thought it was meant to display the album artwork but it doesn't do it with any of my albums. HELP!

Are you streaming or playing locally saved MP3s? If locally, then you do have to make sure that all of your music files have embedded album art. Play Music will not grab online data for "offline" files unless you also have the tracks uploaded with album art!
It won't "fill in the blanks" with completely absent album art!
I think, he doesnt mean album art. You mean the missing artist cover, do you?
I solved the problem by uploading my music library to google music. Once it was in the cloud, the play music app grabbed the artist covers online. From there on i could put any music on my phone and it grabbed the artist covers online. Give it a try
Exactly right! OK, I'll Google that and get a how to. Thanks for the suggestion!
