GPS strange behaviour

I am having GPS problems. I have tried some of the stuff documented on here but to no avail (NMEA device and COM4 and also Internal GPS Receiver). Basically I am having erratic behaviour with my GPS. Sometimes I get a signal very quickly and other times I never get a signal (even after 15minutes). When I start TomTom, it says for a couple of seconds "No GPS device!" but that changes to "Waiting for a valid GPS signal...". The problem is that it can stay like that forever (for as long as I wait). What I have noticed is that if I run the QuickGPS and straight away open the TomTom then after 5 seconds it gets a GPS fix. If I have run QuickGPS the day before, I don't get a signal. Does anyone have any ideas what could be happening. Is the QuickGPS causing problems? Is there any way to get rid of the QuickGPS downloads so that TomTom relies only on the GPS device. I don't want to use QuickGPS every time especially when roaming and seeing how much they charge for data. Any other tips and tricks?

[Q] GPS issues on Skyrocket

Have any skyrocket owners run into issues with the GPS? Over the last few days I've found that the GPS radio is very hit or miss, & more often miss than not.
I typically leave the GPS radio off, enabling it when I need maps, navigation, yelp, etc.On my original GS2 this had worked without issue ... after turning on the radio I'd have GPS functionality within a few seconds.
On the sky, though, Google Maps, Places, etc report "waiting for location" for several seconds; then Maps times out with no result while Places errors out with the message "your different location is temporarily unavailable" ... this even after the GPS radio has been on for 30+ minutes! i've had this result whether I'm inside our outside.
Fwiw under location services I have UseWiFi OFF, Use GPS ON, & Sensor Aiding ON.
I should mention that SOME times out does work, though I've not found a pattern.doesn't appear to be battery related, since i've had it not work at full charge, then work later that day at 5% charge.
Too I downloaded the GPS Status app to directly see what result the GPS radio was returning ... that app shows the GPS properly returning a latitude & longitude, but then exciting the app & trying Maps still gets no GPS/location result.
I also get this issue, so is it a map issue or a gps issue? cause I will go down to ATT and return this *****.
My GPS works great locks almost instantly indoors or out. Infact its by far the best of any phone i've had yet.
I've been having the same issue. Mine has trouble locking my coordinates for minutes at times. I will run the GPS Test and it will look for towers for minutes at a time and it takes forever for it to update the clock and get a Long & Lat fix. To fix it, I have to toggle the GPS button and sometimes it works and other times I end up having to reboot. Yesterday while driving and using the maps, it lost the signal while enroute and wouldn't pick up another signal until I rebooted.
It's quite odd ... when I was traveling in Portland last few days, the GPS issues were often and persistent. Get back home to SF, and suddenly GPS has started working w/o issue, try as I can I can't get it to reproduce the problem now ???
I don't seem to have any issues with the GPS on my Skyrocket. It usually locks on within 10 seconds and is accurate.

[Q] expected time for GPS lock?

What is usual expected time to get GPS lock in such situation.
My mobile network is off, so no A-GPS.
ROM: Sense-o-Maniac-DeSense v1.1
Kernel: 2.6.35.14-Bricked v1.5
Could not get lock today for over 10min, than i just switched GPS off.
The night before, while on wifi it took me about 5 min to get coordinates.
Switched back to HyperSensarion, with bricked kernel, now o have GPS lock without sky view in a matter of 5 sec.

Acquiring a GPS lock depends on a few things, the rom your using, the radio, your phone (some just lock better than others) and your location.
Download clocksync (and sync it) Download faster fix (and set up your locale) then if you could get a lock prior to using these two apps, then stick with the radio your on, these should help with the speed of the lock.
Just try to re-connect.
Personally i connect anywhere from immediately to a minute, so i'm quite lucky.
It's usually pretty quick though.
My Lumia 800 connects straight away every time all the time Gr8 phone the Lumia.
PS: Oh and getting a lock on wifi is not a fair comparison to GPS.
Hope this helps.

Correcting GPS problems

I had intermittent GPS connection problems for months. The Sensation would not lock on to satellites at all or if it did it would take anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes. I contacted HTC and T-Mobile tech support, and searched all the forums I could find without success. GPS would work great for a few days after flashing a new ROM or after a factory data reset, but in a few days the problems would return.
I finally stumbled on a fix (at least for me). I deleted the Maps cache and user data, pulled the battery, rebooted and GPS started working great. It will now lock on to 8 or 10 satellites in 3 to 5 seconds outside and about 10 seconds inside.
If you are having GPS problems give it a try.
You can also download fasterfix from the market then select your region go outside and download GPS status give it a full 10 minutes to lock on to as many satellites as possible and then reboot. This should fix any GPS lock issues

Serious gps issue

Please someone tell the solution for gps issue. Whenever i start gps and open maps it works ok till here but once i start navigation to reach my destination this issue occurs and it saya searching for gps.
I was on cm13 for 2 mnths that too 2 mnths back and i received a jio sim which was not working on cm13 so i had to downgrade to cm11. When i was on cm13 gps was working great from the day i purchases device but one day i was in mumbai and was stuck in heavy traffic, suddenly gps started to show issues as i mentioned (was on cm13).
I came back to my place and flashed cm11(clean flash). But couldnt solve the issue for me.
I have tried all the apps suggested to calibrate gps but nothing worked, tried Agps cache wipe and then update it but still no luck. I have tried colos os as well but the issue persist there also.
Please suggest me a proper solution for this for cm11 as i am using jio sim and which is working on cm11 only for me, so i cannot flash another rom.
I am in hurry bcoz i have to drive back to another city so need my gps as i rely on it always.
1. ensure that you have KK firmware. It's there: http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/general/ref-oneplus-one-modem-collection-t2858734
2. Try using proper gps.conf (Fastergps in Google Play is UI for it. Specify your loc)
3. Install Statusgps and manually reset and download AGPS data. Wait for GPS lock then (can be around 5 minutes)
After AGPS download and first position lock, your GPS will remain in "Warm" state (instead of "Cold") and you will be able to fix in around 5 seconds.
"Cold" fix takes around 50 seconds to 3 minutes. It's my info, yours can be different.
After first gps lock, don't reboot your phone. Check GPS lock time at next day, it should be around 10 seconds (I have 5 sec). I use Status GPS to get lock time.
P.S. I was at vacation some week ago, and my GPS was broken also. It was very bad
