I'm looking for the rectangular lockscreen associated with the HTC slate skin. anyone have that? the normal htc lockscreen is a curved arc... not that one.
You can change the skin and there's rectangular ones

I should have been more specific. I'm on a sense less rom. I'm looking for an apk or whatever. I copied over the htc lock screen apk but it was the arc shaped one.

Here's a .zip with the 4 lockscreen images from Rosie when the slate theme is applied. Just to be clear, this is ONLY 4 of the lockscreen images and I'm not guaranteeing these are all of them, or that if you yank these and drop them in a different lockscreen that they'll work. Best of luck to you
I guess I need more hand holding. How do I apply those skins? Do I need to unpack the apk and drop them in?

Well, for one, you can't just carry over the lockscreen, you need Sense in order to use it. I provided the 4 main images from the theme, from there you might be able to open up the corresponding apk on whatever ROM you're using, and replace the lockscreen images in there with the ones provided above, but the names of the files might change, not really sure.
If you knew what apk the lockscreen images were in, and what the filenames were, you could probably get away with a morph for use with metamorph, but without knowing that stuff it wouldn't really do a lot of good.
A better question might be "Hey guys, I have **ROMNAME* rom and I'm looking to edit the lockscreen, can anyone point me in the right direction?"

good advice. I'm using cognition senseless rom. I pushed the htclockscreen.apk on from his sense rom zip into the system/app folder and that's about as far as I got. I opened up that apk and looked around but didn't see anything that made sense to me.

i'm on CM 5.0.5.3 and every single time i do a morph that changes the services/framework it removes the custom trackball colors and forces it to be white.
Even though the option is still in the menu, no matter what color i change it to, it stays white.
One one morph, it also screwed up SMS popup making it light up white first, before the custom color.
I would really love to use the custom statusbar i made but being unable to change the color is a huge turn off for me.
So does anyone know how to fix this?
*edit*
these were the two morphs i used and got the same issue both times:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=6029657&postcount=4
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=6155781&postcount=20
So there is the wrong framwork in the theme.
In framework res is it for the trackball colours and metamorph brings it new.
yeah thats what another person just told me. So how exactly can i fix/get around this?
I don't know.
One of your posted ones is from me.
The Problem on the cyanogen rom is, that there are three or four different fremaworks.
One with trackball lit, one with the percentage of battery, one with both, one with nothing.
For me as a MCR User it is too much work to get it all on so much different ROMs.
At second is the problem, that the new cyanogen classes.dex isn't properly themeable.
So I think, it will not work.
Sorry. If anybody has a good idea, please share it!
so basically there seems to be no way to fix this. So the only way i get a blue trackball is to have not use any theme. that ****ing sucks.
Be aware of morphs that include a classes.dex file next time. If one does include it make sure you know what mods have been made before applying that part of the morph/apply-all.

so is it the classes.dex or the framework xml files that are causing this?
Honestly all i want is to have a black bar with working trackball. i don't know why this seems impossible on cyanogen.

It's not impossible, You would just have to get a themed update.zip that has it all included. Metamorph for the notification bar will not be the best due to the issues you have found! I use metamorph on my widgets but flash update.zip to change framework for the black bar...try this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=640707

Biggest reason why i use metamorph is because i like combining all kinda of images, including some i make myself into my own theme.
So i flashed that and rebooted. Nice blue trackball. Then opened up my morph and erased everything except the images and morphed that. And now it's perfect. white text where it's suppose to be, colors looking perfect and my custom theme ontop of it.
Never thought of just morphing the images i wanted over a flashed theme lol. Works pretty good. thanks for helping me figure this out.
Desire notification bar works too, and it looks better than the other blacks.

Whenever working with .jar, I find it is best to flash those in recovery that have been made from the specific ROM you are using, so that you get all of the features from it. I leave metamorph up to just doing images, since it is easier and compatible with more ROMs that way.
I was wondering if there is a way to reverse icon colors in the status bar. I just downloaded a black status bar and a lot of the icons blend into the black bar (if that makes sense).
If anyone can help me out, thanks. I don't know anything at all about coding and very little about the root process, so a Metamorph option would be the easiest way for me, although I can figure out theming.

I saw those. I wasn't quite sure if it changes the Messaging, Gmail, Voice and other icons since all I see is the USB and USB Tethering icons. Do you know if those are changed?
Haven´t checked that...best, open file and have a look before you morph.

Wow that is a great idea. I never thought of that haha (still brand new to this stuff). Well, unfortunately it doesn't have icons for Messaging, Gmail and a few others. Thanks for the idea though. Now I know I can check.
Any other ideas?
Anyone know of anything else to do?
Shameless bump because I really want this.
There is a desire morph around somewhere, locate the files or images you want and I can make a morph, just need to know what rom and icons.
Also bumping. Now that CM has theming, I think someone should have one out.

I checked out ninja morph. You're right, it does exactly what you said...EXCEPT you have to modify every icon individually, which ends up being an enormous pain.
Also, I could have missed something but how do you inverse icons directly on the phone? I looked around and still couldnt find anything. Ended up transfering them to the pc and editing them from there.
In the end, I'm just amazed that android doesn't have a unified icon / theming system yet. To edit messages, you have to go in to mms.apk (took me forever to figure that one out), to edit gmail you have to look in gmail.apk, system icons were in framework, etc. What a pain.
If this question has been answered before then feel free to ignore, I'll be doing some searching on my computer about 20 hours from now, but don't recall ever seeing this asked.
What I'm hoping to do is replace the native lockscreen with magic locker. I have magic locker installed with the ics theme, but sometimes fails to show when I hit the power button and instead I get the native lockscreen. I tried converting to system app but that changed nothing.
So I'm wondering where the native lockscreen is located and how I could go about replacing it? Or how to put edt tweaks into a rom so I could use the 4 tab lockscreen. I'm on icbinb and wish to change the native lockscreen, not rom. So please no suggestions to use a different rom, either an intelligent response or say nothing at all.

When you say native lockscreen are you referring to the code/pattern lock screen?
I mean the built in lockscreen. The puzzle glass one. I want to completely remove it and replace it. Because when you simply replace it with an app it sometimes still comes on instead of the app.

I can try and take it off and make a flashable for icbinb

the 2 tab stock one, well I can help you with that.
download apktool or appmanager.
Decompile android.policy.jar
go to smali/com/android/internal/policy/impl.
Look for LockPatternKeyguardView.smali
search for "Glass" case sensitive.
It will take you somewhere around line 1000. I don't remember where.
Replace it with "Tap" case sensitive.
close and save
recompile the android.policy.jar.
You can put it in your rom or adb push or make a cwm package.
Just when you are booted, go to settings-->display and turn off puzzle lock otherwise every time you get a notification, it will switch back to the glass lockscreen.

I had the exact same problem as you did trying to get that wallpaper back...
I really do like it a lot & I think it's the best of the entire bunch that is included in that ROM.
The long answer to your question is in this thread, second post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1480248, which states,
How i can get the blue eye (or any other) wallpaper again?
Which ROM was it in? Do you still have the .zip?
- Pull the system/app/Launcher.apk
- Unzip it. Yes, apk is a zip file.
- Look in res/drawable-hdpi folder.
Although I did manage to open the apk file mentioned above, I did not see that particular image at all. I even tried a bunch of other files, and of course, it wasn't there, either.
Needless to say, I managed to find the wallpaper I was looking for on another of lumin30's posts and I saved it to my harddrive.
*************************************************************************************************************************
I stand corrected. If you follow lumin30's instructions, (written directly below this post), then you will indeed find that exact file. It is called, "default_wallpaper.jpg". From what I can tell, it's the only wallpaper that is in that file.
*************************************************************************************************************************
I know that some images need to be resized depending on the launcher that you're using. I kept having problems with my wallpapers fitting correctly when I was using Go Launcher EX.
I read around on the Internet & found a post suggesting an app called Wallpaper Wizard ii. It's available on Google Play Store for free. The good thing about that app is that you can use it on whatever image you want.
Before you give up, perhaps you should give that a try.
The default wallpaper is found in the \system\framework\framework-res.apk.
Then in framework-res.apk --> \res\drawable
I tried the picture you posted but when I try to use it as my background, it's a blurry and not the whole picture

I pulled it straight from the ROM for you.
I use this one...

Got any more backgrounds? I'm looking for brighter ones since all icons in VB are kind of dark. Thanks!
does anyone know how to put the whole background in?? because it forces me to crop it and i dont want that
Whenever I used Wallpaper Wizard ii, I just set it to "scale" & it looked good to me.
I can't tell you for sure what all that did, but I was satisfied with the results.
Good luck & don't forget to let us know if you find something that works better for you.
Put the wallpaper in framework-res.apk in the res/drawable-hdpi folder then reflash the rom
i found it, do i just post it anywhere in the folder??

Couldnt he just push the .apk to /system/framework and boot to recovery and fix permissions? That would avoid having to reflash and download apps right?
HTC provided quite a few skins for this phone which I'm grateful for and combing the Matte skin with Apex is close to giving me the benefits of both ICS and Sense 4.0 looks (the Matte skin uses what appears to be the/a close representation of the ICS blue). Unfortunately, for whatever reason, HTC decided to leave a certain disgusting looking green present in its default menu/selection popup. Whats odd though, is that when you select something, it uses the blue from the Matte skin. HTC evidently didn't think this far through because there is no way those go together. What I was wondering was if anyone knows of where this green is, whether its a color code used somewhere (this is what I would expect) or an actual image. This is just very irritating to look at when it pop ups and really ruins the consistency of the phone IMO.
If your not sure what color I'm talking about long press on a photo and its that menu I'm referring to. The reason I think its just a color code is because the same green appears in the Root Explorer app at the top (thin line, right underneath the icon) so I would imagine the app is just referring to some default system color and using it to color that image. Could be totally wrong though and its just calling for an image that stretches to fill the space since its only a solid color.
Your solution would be to edit the systemui.apk and the framework-res.apk

I figured it was one of those two. I've only looked through the images contained in the SystemUI.apk file and didn't see anything that looked quite like the green bar. Guess I have to go through looking at the .xml files I'll check the framework-res.apk first thought and see if there's anything in there.
If I remember correctly, the images that are stretched in android are the png files that are the .9 images

Just change the skin type under the Personalize settings. Implements system wide changes for colors and everything.
root for this?

probably a dumb question, but do we need root access for this, or can I find other means of access? I have encryption mandated by my corporate administrators and I dont feel like decryption/factory resetting/rooting/editing and finding out that it's all for naught when my conpany re-encrypts so i can get my email. Also, please note i'm a noob and may have just said nonsensical things herein

You can't edit those without Root access You won't even be allowed to edit files in the /system directory without root.
So I looked in the framework-res.apk file and I found a lot of images that I believe are the green selectors I was referring to in the OP. The only problem, is I'm not sure of a perfect way to replace them (tried naming the original something weird, but then everything started crashing and needed to use adb to rename the file) and I'm not sure how good it will even look since it appears when you select something it uses several images to create a "light -> dark" type selection. I suppose I could edit the transparency of the files, but I don't know if it will be worth the effort. I might not even be doing the process correctly because I just rezipped my customized framework-res file and changed the extension from .zip to .apk. Is that even the proper thing to do?
Look at the second post here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=869198
