Gensoid running Sega roms.
A new thread for those wishing some Q&A.
My first question, can someone help with Key Mappings? There are 6 buttons to be mapped: A, B, C, X, Y, Z.
I have been experimenting but if someone has this perfected, would save others some head scratching
Rixter
A = Square, B = X, C = O, X = L1, Y = Triangle, Z = R1.
Thanks ZeRoE, remapped already
For the most part, X Y & Z don't really need to be mapped. The only game I can think of which used them is Street Fighter II, and I'd recommend the SNES version over the Genesis version any day.

Hi everyone,
Just wondered whether it would be possible to adapt Final Burn (WM version) for the HD2 in much the same way as Morphgear has recently been ported?
I've found and got ver 0.014 (which seems to be the last WM version published) running on mine but can't seem to set it to display in landscape mode, nor are there any on-screen buttons, so apart from watching my phone run CPS2 games nicely there's not much point!
I'm a complete noob when it comes to this sort of thing as the HD2 is my first WM device so I suppose all I'm asking is if it's possible to make it into a useable program and if so I'll gladly donate to anyone willing to develop it!
Cheers guys!
Just found this video of someone running Final Burn with a BGP gamepad on HD2 (go to 9:22 in the vid) and was hoping someone might know how it's been done?
It looks like he uses WVGAFix in order to run it in landscape but I can't seem to get it to work? I've currently got WVGAFix4.
Any ideas? I'm still hoping some kind soul will develop a WVGA version of Final Burn, I've even tracked down some source code from a guy that ported it to a Linux mobile (file attached) if anyone is up for the challenge?!
He use FPSece to emulate games from PsOne.

No he's using FPSece to being with but at the end of the video (9:22) it's Final Burn, you can tell by the UI and because the screen flashes green before the ROM loads.
what are the improvements of using Final Burn ?

It's really just the selection of games that aren't available on something similar such as FPSece for example, like Street Fighter 3 or Alien Vs Predator. I think considering the HD2 is more than capable of running Final Burn it's a shame it's not fully supported.
Final Burn 0.014 version works fine on HTC HD 2 ....... just have a bluetooth gamepad for the controls and WVGAfix4 for display .....

you should try the ps1 version of Street Fighter Alpha 3, also Castlevania ... i did used to play alot of games with finalburn on my old TP1 but it does not compare to fpsece in my opinion
The description on the market says:
"We now support many Android devices, including the Galaxy S2, Droid X, Xperia Play, HTC EVO 3D, Nexus S, and many more. Please note that Riptide GP is a processor intensive game, and requires a high-end smartphone or tablet for optimal performance."
Are the controls optimized for the Xperia Play or simply it runs on the device with touchscreen controls? Has anyone tried yet?

Riptide has user defined controls, you can assign any pad button to any function apart from the touchpads.
Thanks a lot, I didn't want to spend 3,99€ on a game without knowing if the controls work or not. Now I will have a try.

Alien vs Predator (from Sega) works grea with pad buttons and analogs
mx vs atv reflex works well and just cause 2 does but the volume buttons are used for grapple which can be a bit awkward
Assassins creed brotherhood (I'd expect revelations works too), deus ex & saints row
Now this is where Sony should have always pushed the xperia play - all my mates are jealous now!
EDIT: Arkham city works great too
Updated 24 december
I am getting very jalouse too becouse i can not acces onlive in my ****ry... does someone now a way to pass it? And how expensive is for example AC Brotherhood? And how can you pay them?
Merry Christmas mates
You can use a Virtual Private Network
Saints Row 2 works although I get a mouse loading cursor in the middle of the screen the whole time but it's not too distracting
You've missed deus ex from the list - amazing how well these work with a phone!
Sent from my R800i using XDA App
Assassin's Creed Revelations works except Eagle Sense which requires you to press in the left analog stick (Only needed for some missions)

You can use a VPN service like Strong VPN to register. Once it is activated, you don't need the VPN, although you need the VPN to buy games/register a credit card. Oddly, it took my non-us credit card when I put my dad's US address as the billing address. Doesn't seem to use address verification. I was able to buy Super Street Fighter IV: AE with my "foreign" non-us card and I got the playpack promo for 30 days free form gamespot. With the playpack 30% discount, AC Brotherhood was $20.99

lol im just testing it now looks mint tanks for the list
Can't tell you how excited I was when I heard about this.
Full, new, retail games on my beloved Xperia Play.
Firstly, even on my less than perfect internet connection, the games appear to be work perfect. As far as I can see, there is no noticable button lag at all. That is great!
However, having had a good play of a fair few games though, there are a few problems.
Now these are to be expected, but I didn't really think about them when I head the inital annoucement.
- In a lot of the games the text is a little small to read.
- Controls are a major problem. There simply isn't enough buttons.
- Controls again, a lot of the games don't allow customisation, meaning some functions are inaccessible, and thus, the game unplayable.
- The touch pads are a very poor substitute for an anolog stick. Some games are ok, but most are impossible to control accurately. In fact, I'd rather use the DPAD than the touchpads, though this is an option denied to us in most games.
- All of the above could be solved to a satifactory level by allowing full customisation of controls.
- The onlive app is brilliant, but the text could be somewhat crisper. Looks kind of blurred.
Overall, the games that do work well with the controls work amazingly. Street Fighter for example is great. It is such an amazing thing to be playing these games on a mobile phone. The fact that most games are accompanied by a free trial is definitely something OnLive should be applauded for as it allows us to see what works and what doesn't. I can definitely see myself spending some money in the future!
Hey guys, there's a new Neogeo emulator on Market call NeoDroid. I've try and he runs very great, more than Tiger Arcade. Also since the last update he support now savestates.

NeoDroid really kick ass, best neogeo emulator I used on my xperia play. Compatibility and speed are fantastic on the emulator.

It runs the MAME version of the NeoGeo games yes, but not other MAME games, like CPS1/2 and others. Just the NeoGeo.

Not as is. You need to configure the hardware buttons, like SNESoid and others. And it does not shows up on the Xperia Play App when you slide down the controller. But after configuring it works like a charm, really excellent piece of software!
It also does not support the touchpads.
Yes works as charm but lots of game doesn't work - like Samurai Showdown 4 & 5, The Last Blade 1 & 2, SNK vs Capcom. None of other game work in Home mode well - lots of graphical glitches and artifacts... Not worth this money! Tiger Arcade mame or jroni arcade are far better!

Must disagree. Samurai Shodown IV and Last Blade 1/2 works perfect on my xperia play. Samurai Shodown V really doesn't work.
This app is new and the dev is working to fix the bugs, like the home system option, which also bugs me like hell.
But as is, it already run the games I play (KoF 97/98, Last Blade 1/2, Metal Slug X) at a far better speed than Tiger Arcade 3.0.5.
I donated and said it was the best donation money so far because the emulator have a shot life and already performs better.
Never tried jroni arcade, but I gave up on tiger after having performance issues with D&D Shadow over Mystara (and the others I mentioned).
How to access modes?
Hi
Can anyone tell me how to access training mode in The Last Blade? I really need to train otherwise I can't get past the 3rd stage, lol.
Do special moves work for you? I only got one chain attack to work : A,B,C (knock down) and didn't manage to get one special move to work.
Please help!!
The best emulators on the market have a new (well old) edition to the family in the way of a Commodore 64 emulator. Like the rest its fully Xperia Play Optimized (should show in launcher but not checked) and be mapped by default.

Kinda wish he had done something new but more the better at Roberts standards.
