Hi to all,
Well guys I have a question...
I have a ppc with these specs that had
already been installed in it by someone

I don't know if it's unlocked..the guy told me it was..
but for some reason i don't believe the dam guy...
(getting lots of freezes and doing lots of hard resets)
No joy!...
HTC Herm100=Cingulars 8525
Rom version : 3.62.502.20 WWE
Radio version 1.16.00.00
Protocol version : 32.53.7018.014
And I want to better it, what can I do?
Plus I would like to have GPS runing
on it, if possible...The GPS I know it
came with and would like to see it
working...Any ideas?
thanks...
I got this in a trade i did for a dual indash dvd,
in the box..
Hey guys I know you want us to read...But it's not only to read you got to study things before you get in to them and I've done this before in a motorola...But with this one it seems a bit more complicated. And since I don't know what has been done this this ppc ,I'm a little skimy about doing this...
I've been resetting this since I got it..So my thoughts are to use the sim unlock for htc herm, and use this rom Hard-SPL-V7...Any thought...thanks
Hi everyone, I need some help.
I have a T-mobile My Touch 3G phone that I have not rooted or hacked into. Its all stock.
I have been banging my head since last august 2009 that I cant get bluetooth voice dialing on this phone when I press the call button on the Bluetooth device.
My phone from 10 years ago has it so why this modern phone lacks that??
Anyway, this is my question. Is it worth while to put a newer Android OS on the phone. I am seeing 2.0 and 2.1
Will this solve my problem??
And if I have to flash my phone, could I get a step my step way to do this that is geared more to a novice that is even scared of his shadow
If updated Android wont give me this, Is it better to leave it?? or is there more advantages
Thanks for all your help !
Hi guys, I am new to this forum, also I am new on Android phones since I used to be an iGuy..
A week ago I bought a brand new HTC Evo 4g, but I didnt want to connect it on sprint so I pay 60 bucks to get it flashed, so I can Use it with boostmobile.
The flash was-is great, the phone is working perfect on Boostmobile.
So in what I need help is in that I want to install a new theme, a have been reading and to install a new theme the phone has to be root or something like that.
My question is if I install a new theme do I loose my flash?
Please guys I need help.
I dont have an evo, but rooting just allows you to access more things in your phone, and break through the security that the companies put on it. It allows you to install themes, different roms, etc.
But if I root my phone do I loose my Flash? because I dont want to pay 60 more bucks to get my phone unlock
Not sure, but I doubt rooting would revoke your unlock.
Thanks man
Before do anything I am going to wait for more opinions

no. my evo is on boost and when i first got it i struggled with that question as well but decided to gamble and it paid off because now i have an evo on boost fully rooted with nand unlocked running fresh evo 3.5.0.1 themed with riptide9s colornclear and slayers mods. i just did all of this in the last couple days. this site is awsome you just gotta take your time and look and be willing to take a chance or two and work through the issues. if you need some advice ill do what i can but im a noob too so dont expect too much lol. btw does your picture mail work?
Once your phone is registered on boost it will stay as long as you pay the bill
even if i do a factory reset?

New theme? Just go ahead and slap a new launcher on your phone to begin with. ADW and launcher seem to be the greatest out there although others are catching on. These are the simplest form of themeing you could ADW being easier as of now. Detailed stuff like font change and notification bars can be done via rooting or custom roms. Font changes are really easy via an app called type fresh and if rooting for your phone is a one click option I think that would be sweet. Either ways getting a custom cynogen 7 rom for yourself would be best!

yes, a factory reset will just reset the data and settings on your phone back to the way they were when you first turned it on. it will still be connected to the same mobile network with the same phone number
also for future reference this post should probably have gone into the HTC Evo section
First post for me here btw!
Ok so I had a milestone before , but i dropped it in the water in florida and killed it.
I loved the phonoe so much that i decided to buy another one. So i purchased one of kijiji, and it came rooted with froyo loaded on it.
Now, what I have noticed is that it is extremely choppy! My other one was not at all! Like lil thing like the screen rotate take forever, even lags when pressing apps. Im not sure if this is because of the rom or not, but i have lots of free space left and it did this since i got it.
The other thing is that , when i downloaded ROM manager from the market, and open it it doesnt recognize that it has been rooted, but it has to be to have 2.2 on it.
So what should i do or check for?
Also, at this rate im willing to put it back to 2.1 to make it faster, but can i just do a regular phone upgrade through motorola without issues?
Thanks alot guys and gals!
HEY EVERYONE
Im always here and there with phones and finally found a phone I absolutely love, which hasnt happened since I had help rooting a GX2
If anyone remembers that pile of mess
ANYWAY
2 questions
1 Should I ? Ive rooted a phone before and when I did I loved the result I loved finding more roots to run and im the type where I like fast and NEW and I can only imagine that some of the stupid glitches I get are because of the Overlays Sasmung likes to throw on.
I do really like the hover feature and things in that nature though
so my 2 is how to do it , but FIRST
Is there any negatives in rooting.. can you not go back to the way your phone was ever again and what about UPDATES ..
Help Please and THANKS
