Hi while you might be familiar with iTunes, the Zune software is intuitive and user friendly once you understand the ins and out of using the software. You'll soon come to realize, it is more visually and logically easier than itunes.
Step 1. Uninstall iTunes
Step 2. If you want zune to run as fast as possible with little graphical animations go into settings, display and slide the slider to the lowest setting then restart zune.
Step 3. Visit the Zune learning center: http://www.zune.net/en-us/products/learningcenter/default.htm
Lots of tips, tutorials and info on how to use your phone with zune.
Hope this helps.
To answer your question: No, there is no available way to sync a windows phone with iTunes unless you own a mac, then you can use the mac connector to interface with itunes.

What do you think
i dont think that even warrents a reply.
poor effort
I don't get it? Why would you want Windows 7 on you phone? And it's clearly a remote desktop session. The same way I can say that I've managed to run a Windows 2003 Server on my HD2.

Don't want Windows 7 on my HD2 Maybe android for dualboot Just wanted to show that my friend was wrong
YES it is defenetly a fake.
why u think that "comments on youtube" are disabled ?
its a programm where you can add your HD2 as a 2nd Screen at your Computer.
simply select your HD2 as screen output-> and here you go.
All HD2s in this videos are connected to the PC via USB cable or WLAN.
(the phone works only as screen, like you whould plug in a 2nd monitor... )
nothing special thou...
edit: FOUND IT in my thousands of saved Favourites xD

have fun!
and enjoy the fake xD

Noob question - is this possible?

i am very very new to Android development, i was wondering if it is possible to create an application (ill be using a HTC Hero running 2.1) that when connected to a windows PC via cable i could press a button within the app that starts a windows application located on the phones memory card(e.g. netstat.exe), that will gather information about the windows computer and store it on the phone?
cheers for any help,
L.
i suppose u will need software on that pc that will wait for your hero to connect and send those informations. otherwise, the app must be apple to start applications on the windows pc, what shouldnt be possible.

[Q] 3.1 Root on OSX

I've tried everything, are people who use OSX left behind? I can't root and I want to! Is there a solution?
Well I can only speak from little experience with rooting but it seems that you either have to use Boot Camp to install Windows on a partition on your HDD or either using VMWare or some other VM program to install windows on your mac.
Either way it is sad that we have to install that POS Operating System.
I agree with you though.....we should not be left in the dark because we run a superior Operating System rather than Windows.
dwnload windows 7 ISO(100% legal as Microsoft has download links), create small partition and install windows 7. This will give u a 30 day trial. Root it, then delete the windows partition once you boot back into osx
Or try vmware player and see if you can send through the USB device
Btw wrong section, this is a general question

LOL woops I thought this was general *is a space case* and I can't install win7 because as of the moment I can only use my mom's OSX computer. I'll just have to wait until I can fix my windows computer.

LOL
OT: I'm a computer programmer by trade, and I recently had to port some code I originally programmed in Windows to OSX, and I can tell you that OSX is one of THE least intuitive interfaces I have ever worked with, and I have various flavors of Linux/Ubuntu running at home as well. It's like they are trying to be different just to be "not Windows." Resizing a window using ONLY one corner? WTF is that? Fast switching only between running programs and being f'ed if said program is running multiple windows and the window you want is behind another one who's "resizing corner" is off to the side? Again, WTF?
You basically have to be completely bought in to their dumbed down interface to be comfortable with it.
Anywho.

Yea, I'm gonna close this. Desktop OS flame war doesn't have anything to do with phones.

Android Development Laptop...ideas, opinions and suggestions wanted.

Got a free laptop, need some insight on software. It's a Dell Inspiron 1526 running Vista (ugh). It needs to go on a diet. Here's a list of programs I use on my PC, that I want to use on the laptop.
Google Chrome
BitLord
7-Zip
Paint.net
AndroidSDK
Eclipse 3.7
Apk Manager
Notepad++
Adobe Reader
Windows Media Player (I know there's better, I use it because it's there...and only for music)
Nissan FAST 2001
(probably others as well)
Nissan FAST is a automotive program for part numbers and diagrams. My issue is it's 16bit. It runs on Windows 7 64 bit and XP 32 bit, but it won't run on Vista.
I need FAST to work and I don't like all Vista's bloat so a new OS is in order. 7 or XP was my original thought but I'm starting to use my PC more for messing with Android stuff, so maybe I can use my laptop for that instead of having to sit in front of my PC to get anything done.
It seems Ubuntu and Mint are the preferred Linux distros of Android devs.
So, what would you do?
Upgrade to 7?
Downgrade to XP?
Ubuntu/XP dual boot?
Ubuntu/7 dual boot?
Mint/XP dual boot?
Mint/7 dual boot?
There has to be a way around running dual boot just for FAST. Some Google time has shown that most of the others has Linux equivalents...Chromium, U7-Zip, The Gimp, Amarok, etc...
Thanks in advance and if this is the wrong forum, please feel free to place it elsewhere, Thanks!
I'm in the same boat minus the OS issue and the free part. I am buying a sony vaio. For watching movies with the girlfriend and theming/coding for android.
Still haven't decided whether or not I'll go with blackbuntu as my secondary OS.
Edit: I can suggest a Win7/ubuntu install as that is basically what I am going to be doing. Blackbuntu is just a hacker based distro and I use that to pen-test my network from time to time. lol
FAST is the deal-breaker...and a lean mean OS....I'm on the laptop now....Vista is definitely the fat angry sister of the Windows family...it makes me miss ME lol
Have you considered a VM player?
Run your preferred OS as your primary OS. Get VMWare Player (Free) and install it with your required OS for that NISSAN FAST application.
ubuntu/win 7 is the best, because we need a windows platform, but linux too. you install only teh essential programs, because the work will be fast and clear

pretty much sums it up. windows 7 is gonna be the easiest os to just have work aand have all your programs and things in (plus it doesn't suck like vista), but it is also a good practice to keep Ubuntu installed for if you want to develop, fix windows, whatever you might need it for.
For the record I much prefer IntelliJ to eclipse, it feels a lot better and pretty much writes my code with all its shortcuts. works great on win7.

IntelliJ...I'll check it out.
So, if I'm gonna run Windows 7....is dev really that much better in Ubuntu?
Dumb question....will my Disk from my PC install Windows 7 on the Laptop?
Windows 7 Pro/Ultimate gives you access to Windows Virtual PC and XP mode, so you effectively get an XP VM with it anyway, plus you can make your own. I use it for Gazillionaire Deluxe

Looks like Windows 7/Ubuntu is the way to go.
I don't have 7 Ultimate, should Premium work?

[Q] Integrate WM Device Center

Hi everyone, Is it possible to integrate the WM Device Center directly in the OS? I don't wanna have to open this app every time I connect my phone to the pc..I'm lazy, I know

Seems like you are lazy more than you've expected. You don't even read forum title - it's WP7, not WM forum
I'm not even sure what app or what OS you're referring to - do you mean ToucnXpereince on WP7? That's *supposed* to open automatically when you start WPDM on the PC.
Windows Mobile Device Center is a "big" Windows (desktop/laptop) app, not a phone app... are you saying you want it to launch on the PC when you connect your phone?
Sorry guys, I haven't been clear enough I meant the Windows Mobile Device Center LAUNCHER look at this tread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1521763
It's an app that has to be launched on a fully unlocked phone every time you connect it to the computer. In this way your device can be explored as a sort of plug&play usb mass storage. You can directly copy on it doc files, or anything else you want. Even xap files on my HD7 with deepshining, if I install a File Browser too, I'm able to install XAPs directly from my phone without any other software installed on my pc or on my phone. I think it's a great thing, even for doc files because before of this program the only method to transfer them from PC to the phone ad vice versa was to send'em to myself via mail, or use skydrive. Not much convenient for me. This new method simplyfied my life
So my question was: can this XAP be directly integrated in Windows Phone 7 so when I connect my device to the computer I don't have to open every time this app on my phone?
Now *that* is actually an interesting question. It's certainly possible to have a PC app start a phone app; that's how WPDM launches TouchXperience or Visual Studio launches a debug app. To launch fully automaticlaly, though... that would probably require that the app either have some background service (possible on a fully-unlocked ROM) that monitors for a PC connection, or that the app be registered in some way as "do this when you connect" although I'm not sure how I'd go about the latter.
Yeah, now it's much clear and as GoodDayToDie said is much more interesting I'm already thought about implementation (but I need to run WPConnect.exe automatically, not a Windows Mobile Device Center LAUNCHER). I'll try to find time for the development of this app (this one - finding time - is really hard ), so stay tuned!
Here we are: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=24820620
Hey, gigsaw, did you tried WP7 auto launcher? I don't have full unlock so I can't test with WMDC Launcher.
So sorry if it seems that I disappeared but someone stole my HD7 some days ago D: D: D: D: I'm so sad........I was very interested in windows phone 7, I thought it could be the best mobile OS with a bit of developing..but now I can't do anything more. So sorry guys ='(
