[Q] How to extend lock screen time-out? - Windows Phone 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Dear all,
is there any way/tweak how to extend lock screen time-out for instance to 60 minutes?
Thanks in advance

you go into the settings, lock and wallpaper!

The highest value I have there is 5 minutes which isn't enough for me. Do you have higher value there?

I have 30s, 1m, 3m, 5m and "never".
If you don't have the option "never" you have to unlock your phone (using chevron or developer unlock) and make a change in the registry of the phone.
It's very ridiculous that not every wp7 have the option "never" to choose.

There is no "never" option just in case you set a password for the lockscreen.
if you remove the password, the never option will be available again

It´s really ridiculous that I cant set higher value then 5 mins if password is set..

I have no password and still only have 5 min. I wish Diagnostic Tool in the phone could be used to fix this.

for Samsung devices u don't Have This setting because the technology of the screen (S.amoled) don't like to stay long time with screen on else if u Can damaged the screen...

[Q] Increse Time Before Numeric Screen-Lock Activates?

Is there a way to increase the time before the numeric screen-lock activates?
Often, I am working on something, or am using a calculator, and if the screen times out, the numeric screen lock appears when I turn the phone back on, even if it's only a minute or so.
It'd be great if I can set it to activate after, say, 20 minutes of inactivity, like the iPhone does.
You can Chang the time out for the screen to go black from display settings , but if you are talking about the time before you need to unlock your phone again I don't think this option supported yet ,I'm not sure . But there is some apps that you can try that prevent the screen from locking such as mylock.
Give it try.
Sent from my LG-P500 using XDA App
Tasker or Locale plus Locale Password Locker from the market. An expensive solution but capable of doing exactly what you want.
If you're running cm7 you can change the timeout options for the lockscreen.

[Q] Prevent WP7 sleep/standby while charging/on cradle

Is there any way to prevent turning off the screen while charging / on cradle?
I need it to see clock 24/7 while my device is charging.
Now if I connect device to the PC it goes standby (while on lock screen, when the time is displayed), even if "screen timeout" is set to never.
Thank you!

you didn't say which device you have, but if it's a focus then avoid this, you will get screen burn in
Bump...
I too am looking for this solution. Back in WM 5 and 6 we were able to set independent brightness and sleep times while on battery or while plugged in. I am on day 3 with this WP7 phone and am getting frustrated by the "simplification" of so many aspects that I was able to modify in the past.
If it's just the clock you need to see, then you might wanna try Nightclock, which is available for free in the marketplace. It shows a nice clock and has an option for preventing the screen from turning off.
While your lock screen does not require a password (pass number really) an extra menu item is added to the settings/lock&wallpaper/screen timeout drop menu... "never"
But if you require a password to unlock the screen, this "never" option disappears...
Unfortunately for me it is not just the clock.
While docked on my desk I like to keep it open on my SMS conversations to see if anything new has arrived.
While docked in my car on top of the dash, I like to keep it on maps to see if any traffic congestion might be ahead and listening to podcasts. Its rather distracting to keep watching for the screen to go dark and tap it every 5 minutes.

[Q] Different pattern lock time than screen timeout?

I'm almost positive that this can be done, but I don't know how simple it is. I would like a way to make the pattern/PIN/password not happen immediately upon screen lock. Anyone who has used an iPhone has probably seen this option...you can make it not show the PIN screen until a specific time has passed...if you unlock the screen before that timeframe, it resets the timer.
Here's why I say I'm almost positive this is possible: the last company I worked for made this happen automatically when you used their Exchange email server. I could lock my screen, and it would not ask for my PIN if I unlocked it again immediately. I couldn't specify the timeout, but it seemed like it was about 5 minutes. I used ozmail, and I know it did it though the device administrator somehow, so I'm thinking it may have to be done programatically, but I'm hoping there's an easier way.
Any ideas?
All I do is turn my screen off manually when it goes in pocket. Then 10 min later timeout/lock time has passed but any time before then, screen turns on without having locked.
But in display settings I see "screen timeout" and in security settings I see "lock phone after period of inactivity".
I can set them to differ... Maybe it's your ROM.

Charge roms only have display timeout. It doesn't have a separate lock timeout, and we don't have any roms not based on stock.

[Solved] lock time after screen timeout?

For example: I would like the phone to go into standby and be able to reactivate it WITHOUT REQUIRING A PASSWORD, for at least 30 minutes. Then if it stays in standby for like over 30 minutes, THEN wants it to require a password.
Is anyone able to share some advice or ideas?
On my LG, there is an option for "Lock Timer", where you can set a lock time after screen timeout. On this Huawei, i can only see a screen timeout option and not lock timeout.

You are wrong there is an option in setting - security - auto lock and there you can choose the time....and if you want that to happen every time be sure to live unchecked the other setting not to auto lock with power button...

Thank you for sharing the info. It wasnt about being wrong or right.. I just could find it and was searching for hours, and last resort was to ask here.
it will takes time getting used to the logic of Huawei's menus.
Thank you again!

can’t set screentime in setup! Why?

Hi, i tried to reduce my screen on time from 30 sec. down to 15. sec. but if i tap on this feature in my setup, nothing changes!!!
I can only change the value with an external app. FW is b197. Any suggestions?
edit: solved
save energy mode seems to change access.
after switching to off, the time could be set.
Same goes with certain apps that change screen on time (Floatify is an example, free version sets screen on time to 15 seconds and it can't be changed)
