Is there anyway to lower the touch screen sensitivity? - Nexus S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Anyone know? If any different rom or kernel changes this? Or if this has ever been achieved on other devices

Use the automatic brightness setting built in to Android. If you don't like using that, install switch pro widget and setup a dimmer switch. IMO
Screen filter work great. Thanks guys!

If you're rooted cyanogen rom has built in backlight settings. I can set to be changed to just any configuration

Is this normal??

When I unlock my phone and swipe to the next screen it is unresponsive and have to take several swipes sometimes before the phone wakes up and goes to the next screen.

Does not happen all the time though.....

Are you rooted?

Doesn't sound very 'normal' to me.
What was the last change you made?
To answer your question......no...

This is not normal. A few questions for you though:
1. Did you root your phone or mod it in any other way?
2. Are you using an alternative launcher?
3. If a third-party app is causing this, it may be hard to diagnose. Could you go into Settings > About phone > Battery use and list the apps and usage numbers? This could provide some leads.
Had this problem with a non-standard background-picture and 3d wallpaper.
(not rooted/unlocked 2.3.4)
I opened thread abou tuning touchscreen, if you still on 2.3.3 u can use modified netarchy kernel fixing this issue.

This kernel works great with cm7.02.
Not working with 2.3.4

Thank you guys!
OK so I notice that this happens sometimes when I use heavy wallpapers. So switched to lower size wallpapers and is doing the trick.
My phone is not rooted. I want to root it and customize it so bad but I'm afraid to brick my phone.

(Q) is there a way to turn off the home button lights?

Whenever I'm watching a video the home buttons tend to annoy me. Does it bother others? Is there a way to fix this?
Thanks

Yes, install a kernel with Back Light Dimmer

Cm7 gyro

I have tried both cm7 roms for the SR and both seem to have the same problem. Noticing it in the 360 panorama app the gyro seems to be off and I can't get an accurate picture. Anyone know a fix or maybe a way to manually calibrate the gyroscope? Usually I've seen it under display in settings but not on these cm7 builds for some reason ???

Why you would want to use the on screen buttons with the Nexus S? If you do this, than what are you doing with the real buttons on the bottom of the phone? Isn't that just wasting more screen real estate by using the on screen buttons?

What's the current problem? Setting BLN to 0 turns my cap buttons off (effectively) permanently while using the phone.

Manually through sysfs or NSTools (same thing). You may need NSTools or an init.d script to do it each boot though.
I used nstools but with nstools everytime I turn off the screen and turn it back on the touch keys would light up still and I have to touch them again to turn of the light I want them to stay off

I just tried myself using the latest stable Trinity 1320 and with timeout set to 0 and bln on the buttons stay off even after switching the screen on and off multiple times. Unsure what's going on there. What kernel and version are you using?
I was trying it on the maxr1x 19.5 I haven't tryed on v20.0?
