When I unlock my phone and swipe to the next screen it is unresponsive and have to take several swipes sometimes before the phone wakes up and goes to the next screen.

Does not happen all the time though.....

Are you rooted?
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
Doesn't sound very 'normal' to me.
What was the last change you made?
To answer your question......no...

This is not normal. A few questions for you though:
1. Did you root your phone or mod it in any other way?
2. Are you using an alternative launcher?
3. If a third-party app is causing this, it may be hard to diagnose. Could you go into Settings > About phone > Battery use and list the apps and usage numbers? This could provide some leads.
Had this problem with a non-standard background-picture and 3d wallpaper.
(not rooted/unlocked 2.3.4)
I opened thread abou tuning touchscreen, if you still on 2.3.3 u can use modified netarchy kernel fixing this issue.

This kernel works great with cm7.02.
Not working with 2.3.4

Thank you guys!
OK so I notice that this happens sometimes when I use heavy wallpapers. So switched to lower size wallpapers and is doing the trick.
My phone is not rooted. I want to root it and customize it so bad but I'm afraid to brick my phone.

You guys are great!!! Thanks again!! Would love to have cm7 on my phone.... Hey anyone from NYC want to meet up and hook up my phone lol!!

I'm having an issue with my nexus s 4g. When I'm on stock Tom non rooted eeverything works fine. When I root and put on different roms my phone acts weird. When I have a different rom on when I'm charging my phone everything is fine. As soon as I take the phone off and let the screen turn off for about 15+ seconds the screen won't turn back. The only way to turn the screen back on is removing the batteru and reinserting it. I've tried different roms but I'm having the same problem. I went back to stock in the meantime while I try to figure this out. Thanks in advance

R u using a different kernal that has deep idle...try turning that off...also...what roms r u trying??
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using XDA Premium App
I don't change any kernels. I do a lot of underclocking. I keep it at 1000 Max and 100 low on demand mode but when my screen is off I keep it at 100 max and low. I've tried different gingerbread roms. Today I tried the aosp rom and it did the same thing so I'm assuming its something with my phone

It's not the roms or the phone. You can't clock the processor down that low when screen is off. It will never wake up.

alright. Ill change it tomorrow and see wat happens. I was enjoying aosp rom. How low do you recoomend?

It's better to ask the kernel dev about clock speeds
Sent from my SGH-T959 using xda premium
I figured out that its set CPU which is affecting my phone. I'm on aosp ics from and its working great without it. As soon as I enable set CPU my phone starts acting weird.

Yeah, because you clocked it too low. When your remove setcpu, it returns to the kernels stock clock speeds. Don't blame the program....it's works just fine for everyone else.

when I did the adjustments to the setting it made my phone constantly reboot. I got rid of the app and my phone is fine. I never had an issue with it when I had it on my HTC evo 4g

Because you clocked it too low. I think anything below 800 while sleeping well prevent it from waking. You can't clock it at 100 max.

Ever since I updated to ics no matter what ics rom it is when I press the back button the app exits back to my launcher. I've reflashed/clean installed roms and still the same thing.
Is anybody else experiencing this or found a fix around this?

Mine was doing this too. I went into developer options and un-checked "Don't keep activities" and it seems to work fine now.
Give that a shot.
Sent for my bathroom, with toilet paper.

And how do i keep it from coming up? It shows up randomly while plugged in and it goes to it everytime i hit the home button. Ive tried resetting all defaults on any launchers and any accuweather apps. The only way i can get rid of it is to either hit the back button all the way to the home screen or reset the phone

Ics has an option under settings. Display. Weather. To enable or disable this.

I think that is your dock screen. I had that problem with a powerskin battery. The phone thought it was in a dock. I replaced the powerskin and it went away.

I guess i should mention im running sky ice rc7. Not sure if this is something specific to the rom or not.

Hey guys. So I'm having countless issues with this phone I was wondering how much of them are software, others have experienced and if it gets fixed with custom roms. The most frustrating issues are 1: that sometimes when typing in message app the screen distorts for less than a second and goes back to normal this could go on a while without happening then randomly happen, using SwiftKey 3 keyboard. Dunno about others.
Secondly sometimes apps like xda I will enter the app and go to messages or any top tab and the app freezes. Won't respond to anything I have to hit home, then recent apps, end the app then restart. Sometimes this happens several times in a row. Reboots don't help. Currently on stock.
Sent from my HTC VLE_U using xda app-developers app
Must be an issue with swiftkey keyboard since I have never experienced any issue using stock keyboard.
The second one is a known issue with xda app. Alternatively you can use tapatalk forums app.

Okay thanks for the swift response. I appreciate it, yeah hopefully so. I'm currently sitting on my amaze and this and debating which to sell. Also wanted to make sure before I unlock the bootloader that this isn't debilitating otherwise I want to get a warranty exchange before unlock otherwise they might try to screw me. Thank you!

Seem to be having problems with the xda app whenever i try to start it up. Just get the spinning circle. End up having to come out if app and restart it before it ever loads. I've been flicking on android central app every now and then and it loads instantly with no issues.
Could this have anything to do with me being on the art runtime? Handset is stock unrooted other than art .
Thanks

No problem with XDA premium app.
Do not use ART...

I have problems with the XDA Premium app as well. Sometimes it won't load, sometimes certain threads won't load. Not sure what's causing it, I had similar problems on my Nexus 4.
I think the xda has been having intermittent issues with the tapatalk plug-in over the last week or so.
good day.
ART is experimental so that's why it's only a developer option right now. It's only natural for it to have issues so if you want a stable rom don't use it because all app devs just got onto developing for it. Tapatalk has been having a lot of issues for the past about 2 weeks. This is probably what you are referring to so just stand by while tapatalk and xda resolve the issue. It's become even more annoying these past few days.
im lucky to be able to connect to xda with tapatalk anymore. disabling art has improved that, thanks

slow loading for me at times, somethings up
The XDA app is Tapatalk. And it does occasionally have issues. Wiping the data for it seems to help.

I have this problem with the xda app with all my devices. It has nothing to do with ART, as the issues were present on 4.3.
The app just needs to be fixed. Plain and simple.

My issue is that it will jump a couple threads up when it loads more. Really annoying. Randomly crashes as well. I have it on my Nexus 5 and Nexus 7, both using art. The nexus 7 has none of these problems.

I'm on a replacement device (not using art ) and still same problem.
However as said before android central for me seems almost instant in comparison.
