How long did you wait? It takes awhile.

Less than 2min...wait more than that???
Boot into recovery and flash the rom again.

Yeah first time it can take 2 min. or longer. A few times I was just about to pull the battery and then it booted.

first time booting a new rom always takes significantly longer for me
Try again you should be fine.
Tried flashing it via kernel manager? The ui is nothing to look at but it seems to work pretty well and is fast.
some of his kernels do not work on my phone either. my cpu is very finicky. I think in the end number c worked for me.
this is not a signature I type it in every time maybe sent from my phone or my computer
Mine also took about 10 min at the first boot
I don't know why, but mine also took about 10 min or more at the first boot.
I suppose they have some initializing scripts on the first run.
Wait few more minute

(Noob) Haven't ever tried installing new roms before and giving it a new shot using clockwork recovery mod.
My question is this, I've tried putting two new roms in and both cases, the phone reboots and seems to be stuck on the "htc incredible" with white background boot theme. It just hangs there, both time I waited about 10 minutes. Is this normal, should I wait longer, or just do a recovery and retry?
Thanks
What roms?

Maybe try unrevoked3 again. If that doesnt work, unroot using the ruu and reroot and reflash with unrevoked3. Remember if you are um rooting, backup all data contacts and apps.

Yes, a new ROM can take several minutes to boot the first time. As far as how long... I don't know that I have ever sucessfully waited more than 15 or 20 minutes for first boot.
Take preceding advice with a grain of salt, I have not flashed a new ROM on my Incredible yet, I only have ROM experience with my Magic.
I just flash it like a normal ROM right? I mean flash the ROM w/ the kernel then flash the gapps.

Yes.......
Hows the battery life?

Good. Not the best ever for me but some people say it is amazing. Try for yourself.

Okay so if I want to go back to H57 can I just do a restore? And CM7 flashes CWM3 right?

I have tried to flash this several times with little luck guess I am missing something.
Currently I have Heinz_57.Hybrid_v5_7_11_OTB_edify and using the heinz57 custom blue cwm.
I flashed MESMERIZE Cyanogenmod 7 first and the proper GAPPS second. When I reboot the Android pops up and does nothing else I have waited five minutes no luck. I wind up having to reflash and go back to Heinz 57. I did wipe Data also noticed when flashing Cyanogenmod 7 it doesn’t give me the blue random words I get when flashing other kernels.
Please tell me what I am doing wrong.
I also did the exact same as the poster above me, from the same ROM and CWM custom blue recovery and have had no luck... I have also tryed about every other combination I can think of, with the same results. Which for me, is after reboot i get stuck on the samsung logo. I've let it run the course for over 10-15-mins with no change just for good measure but still nothing. I can flash and run ANY other rom so far besides cm7, including cm 7.0.3. So.. I'm verry baffled atm myself..
I'm am in no way sure about this since i have not flashed cm7 but you may have to odin froyo and start from scratch, i had this problem with another rom and my best guess is it was do the the kernel that was installed was not the correct one. Another thing to try is a wipe and install a non-vodoo aosp kernel reboot recovery and then try to flash zip again
Jack off. That helps.
Load an soap kernal first then flash cm7 and gapps. I don't know why this works but its what I have to do every time I load cm7.

cm7 has the kernel built in, you shouldn't need to flash one separately.

Yeah that's what many of us assumed. Unfortunately that doesn't appear to be the case as we learned. There were a number of us that ended in boot loops or frozen on the splash screen if you just flash the rom and gapps.
Sorry for jacking this thread but which recovery allows you to do a legit nand? The otb gives me a boot img error and ti's makes 3 separate on CM7? I thought I solved all my nand problems before I flashed this by doing bdemartinos posted fix.

If I remembered correctly, OTA 2.3.6 took about less than 40 sec to boot up. My Charge is now took 2-3 min. Is this normal? I did clean cache etc...but no help. 2-3min is normal for everyone? I'm running tweak1.0 w/stock kernel. Previously I used Imoseyon kernel but both the same long boot time. I read many posts, people claimed that because I have many apps installed, but I don't think so. When I flashed OTA GB, it took 30sec to boot with default boated apps. Any tricks to make it boot faster. Thanks.

This happened to me except the other way around. Stock deodexed took 3-4 mins to boot and TweakStock takes like 30 secs.

It's perfectly normal on the first boot after you clear cache/dalvik; your phone is rebuilding the caches in compatibility with the new rom. It should only happen once. All other normal startups should be at a much faster speed.

For me it happened on every boot.
all, I got it fixed. Re Odin Tweakstock 1.1 and now boot time is 25sec when I hit restart. Thanks everyone.
I have CWM installed so I could flash CM7 easily for each night build.
I am thinking to try out ICS. back to about 2 months ago, I could flash to ICS but the camera doens't work out well so I roll it back.
today, I see a lot of updates so I decide to give it a try again. I follow the instruction until "9.When welcome screen appears, DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING, let sit for 10 mins." After I reboot, I don't see "welcome screen" I only see LG logo popup, then I see "LG Logo with waves" for 15 minutes and then nothing happens. I just wonder if I did anything wrong? thanks
I have ext 4
Would help if we knew what exactly you were flashing.

if your flash took only a couple of seconds.. then redo the flash until it takes more than 15 seconds. Your symptoms look like flash problem that is a known issue.

more info
sorry, I forget post more info.
I tried these two ROM:
1. HellFire ICS
2. Kang ICS
both have the same problem.
by the way, I did the backup before doing ICS. the first time roll back, it asked me to setup account like a new machine! so I did restore again. then second got fully restore. currently I am using CWM 3.0.1. I just wonder if this makes difference?
when I flash CM7, it took few minutes, but when I flash ICS, which is fast! only about 15 seconds. does this sound right?
thanks!
CWM 3? Update your CWM to the latest version (5.0.2.8 for normal CWM, or 5.8.1.3(?) for touch recovery). That might alleviate all your problems.
Yea I imagine you have an SD card just like the dude above me mentioned go with the newest cwm.Same way you flash 3

I do not meet the minimum posting criteria for the dev threads, so I am posting here instead. After flashing r259, my phone will no longer boot past the GS3 splash screen.
I tried full wipe, reflash at least three times.
Anyone who finds this may want to wait for a new revision.

You have to wait a good 2 minutes at least before it goes to the boot animation. I would do an earlier version until the sort out some issues

Yea I tried the latest release and it just wouldn't boot. ( 45 minutes on the Android boot image)
I suggest just sticking on r169 until there is a new update.
I am ASSUMING there is an update on the way because a good bit are having issues with the aroma installer.

Try formatting internal sd in cwm before flashing from external. Choose davlik without optimizations and superwipe. Works perfectly for me
