i recently purchased the kidigi cradle...looks good (though it's utter crap that it fits with the case on), but it is getting extremely hot within 15mins
i never had the common 'hot when charging' issues, at least not to this extent and not this quickly...i also recently started using the Anker battery
coincidence that it's happening just as i got the dock and new battery? known issue with the Anker battery? or is the dock to blame, you think? I am using the usb and mains charger that came with the phone
should i only use it to charge and then take it out?
I have the exact same battery and cradle and experience no problems what so ever...
Although I do use the AC adaptor that came with the KiDiGi cradle.

Thanks for reporting your experiences with the cradle.
I had my eye on the MHL version:
http://www.kidigi.com/product_lv2.php?pid=1341
Did you not go with a MHL-HDMI one because you just don't need/value/use it? I would have thought the MHL or the battery-charging cradle would be most popular of the cradles, for people on this forum.
How long did it take for delivery? From Kidigi direct or another seller?
Thanks for any info and recommendation; hopefully it's just a glitch that you can fix.

- didn't know it existed...lol
- wouldn't have bought it because it says it's for the Sensation XE (another lol)
- i got the one with a battery cradle because that's the one that said you don't have to remove the cover - but you SO do
- have no use for hdmi out
- i got it from ebay for $20...delivered from China to Australia in just over 2 weeks

it looks great, feel sturdy and of good quality, i'm just concerned about the heat

yeah, but my original question was more about the heating issue
Surprised there isn't a post here for this already. Well not for the One X anyway.
Have trouble finding a car charger that will actually CHARGE the phone when I'm using GPS and listening to music.
When it's plugged into my car charger I look under power settings and sure enough it says "Charge (AC)" but my phone continues to lose charge.
I read in forums that you need a car charger with a certain amperage and voltage. The one I bought meets those minimums but it doesn't seem to be working for me.
Can anyone recommend a good car charger that will charge the One X "under load"? GPS + music, etc. Thanks.
It might be temp related. I noticed when the phone is mounted in a dash dock, it gets really hot from the sun. My gut is protection circuitry is kicking in preventing at least the rapid charge. The same setup, but at night, charges very quickly. Further, I moved the phone from the dash mount to free in the console and it charges there. YMMV.

You may be right. I've also read that some car chargers cause your phone to get hot while charging while others do not...
I used the Griffin dual charger with success a couple of weekends ago. 16 hour round trip and it charged just fine. Used the GPS and Audiobook playback and it kept returning to green.
If it matters in a Honda Element 2006

Only $7 free shipping.
*I did not have two devices going simultaneously so I cannot comment about it's effectiveness there.*

I can vouch for this, it's good for the car. Also, if you want to cool your phone off you could position your dock near an air conditioner or use this:
http://lifehacker.com/5747897/how-to-build-a-car-mount-for-your-cellphone-from-office-supplies
Which will keep your phone nice and cool for next to no $
I am using a Moto charger bought for a few bucks from one of the online stors and it definitely charges, as I can see the % battery increase on the short drive from work to home. Not using GPS or anything like that during that time tough.
I would strongly advise staying away from the cheapo chargers on eBay. You can buy a brand name charger for just a bit more with a bit of searching. Not only do they charge better but their micro USB connectors are much better, some of the ones on eBay are actually too large and may damage your phone.
Careful with the Motorola chargers. Mine (http://www.amazon.com/Motorola-Vehicle-Adapter-micro-USB-Charger/dp/B000S5Q9CA) fried my HTC One X for good: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2058486

Is the AT&T charger (http://www.amazon.com/HTC-ONE-Premium-Protected-Charger/dp/B0080N2YQ2) any good?
Thanks

Shipping is supposedly fast. Also it's a different seller from the Amazon.COM listing. So it may not ship from China. The order confirmation page says that it ships soon so could come from Canada for all we know.
Every review says the charger produces a very loud beep whenever it starts or completes a charge. Very annoying.
I wonder if its an easy fix like the other chargers. Open and pull the speaker wire. I am not looking forward to some beep telling me that my phone is done charging while I try to sleep.

Been using it at work since it arrived. It works great - the beep is incredibly shrill, especially in an office environment, but it charges quickly and doesn't get too hot.
I will note that this particular charger does NOT top up the battery, so it's not good for overnight charging. Once your phone hits 100%, the charger stops charging, and doesn't kick back on until you physically remove the phone from the pad for a few seconds. It's great for the office or any other environment where you just need a quick top-up, but again, not good for overnight charging.

I have the WCP-300, its output is 1A. Works *awesome* with the Nexus 4, and even keeps it topped up so it works great as an overnight charger.
Power Banks from RavPower are starting to remind me of Swiss Army Knives. I recently reviewed one that acted as a hot spot, provides charging, and allows devices to read SDCards and portable hard drives. The product in this post substitutes out those features for a huge capacity (14000 mAh) and a flashlight. It has two ports. One good enough to charge most cell phones and another that is good enough to charge most tablets (1A and 2A output respectively).
I've carried similar products:
in the field (@ Fort Stewart and other military training facilities)
on deployment
while in Europe - kept my phone charged and acting as a hotspot for a group of 5
at sporting events
on plane trips / at the airport
conventions (SEMA / CTIA)
The prices on stuff like this keep on dropping. It'd probably be good to keep one charged up and in your arsenal of mobile devices / accessories.

New Trent looks nice. I just had an issue with one of their products. It did get used a lot though so I'm not surprised the port finally broke.
The light is basically just enough to locate small items in the dark and plug stuff into the battery pack. You're not going to want to use the light lets say for setting up a camp site.
This looks Awesome.

If the iPhone was at the same level of discharge and the power banks were both charged, it's nice to know that one can recharge at a quicker rate. I couldn't quote the reply that it was measuring current since that was on a different page, or I would have.

Ouch on that Incipio price - $89.95. For that you could buy 8 phone batteries with 4 chargers:

yeah, that's a little pricey for what it is...
If I get a little more disposable cash, I'd consider putting a minimum quantity order in and sell a few to those on here at cost plus shipping. It's worthwhile to resell if you can beat other sellers to the punch and make a penny. Once these become commodity and the prices drop, it's not worth it unless you're a big time seller. The profit per piece usually cuts it close for the time you invest fulfilling orders and dealing with problem ones. I got hosed on Note 2 cases a couple years ago where the cases were crap. One drop and the Note would pop out. Couldn't get the seller to take them back, and I didn't feel comfortable selling them knowing I'd get complaints (if it happened to me on multiple occasions.) Still have them. Might just unload them cheap when I get around to it.
With the QC options out there, I wouldn't buy a battery or charger that didn't have one QC port on it at this point. Funny, all the people wanting their wireless charging. I'll take QC any day.
Going back to the cheaper option approach - you can get the Anker charger plus two extra batteries for $25.00 and this Anker 10,000mAh external battery for $23.00:
http://www.amazon.com/Compact-10000mAh-Portable-External-Technology/dp/B009USAJCC/ref=sr_1_4?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1422131778&sr=1-4&keywords=anker+power+bank
Swap out batteries and use the external battery pack plus the charger to charger the spares. Charging won't be as fast as Quick Charge but hey, it's on the spares. For $48.00 you have a whole heck of a lot of spare juice available. And there are higher capacity but pricier external batteries available.
I have the OEM charger and spare battery. I keep it in the center console charged. If I need to I swap and let the dead one charge. If I have a heavy day and can't charge I grab the charged spare. I use a pack to charge other things when needed and once in a while the phone. So if I were to replace it, it would be with one with a QC option. Not everyone is buying a battery pack specifically for the phone, but if your going to buy one, why not have the QC option? It's also less time you're tethered to a charger when needed.
