I just noticed that on cm7 I have the ability to start/stop/change tracks on the lock screen. Thought I would share.

With poweramp its a setting that worked on froyo as well.

Hey. Fresh n00b here. I thought I'd bump this thread as it seems the best place for my question.
Is it possible to control Poweramp with the music controls on the stock cm7 lockscreen? I can only seem to control the stock music app, which I don't like.
Am I missing a setting somewhere? Or is it possible to add a Poweramp widget to the stock lockscreen instead?
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Idk about power amp but PlayerPro has a dedicated lockscreen with lockscreen controls and has no lag on regular unlock action

I use widget locker. It's a replacement lock screen app. You can put anything you put on a home screen on your lock screen. Check it out on the market. Just search for widget locker.

hi guys
I was searching youtube and i saw a video about 2.2.1 froyo on x10.
but something was interesting in this video. this guy had reboot button on his power control widget.
just want to know how can I add it to the widget.?
thank you
I think there is a reboot option when you use SwitchPro
There is a reboot option with Extended Controls, try that app out it's very useful. I would guess that's the app being used in the video you're talking about.

+1 to extended controls
Does Extended Controls still have the bluetooth button being stuck issue on the new 2.1? I had to go to Switchpro for that reason on the 1.6.

i think i mispelled it, the software mightve been called quickdesk but i uninstalled it after a few days as i found it caused my phone to lag and reboot. I normally just use widget locker if i really need media controls and ive found it to be a semi usable solution.
I would love it but u can onli have a status switch till now
Are there any app like scrollable news widget but i want that app controls my media volume when i scroll my finger on, it increases or decreases my media volume. It can be 2x1 widget. Can u make like an application?

I've been searching for the same thing but haven't been able to find anything. The closest I've found is a widget that opens the volume controls, which does me no good.

Thanks for answer. I hope somebody will do that. If i know making an application i would do and make some money)
Anyone know of an app that will allow music controls on the Google Navigation screen? And if not, maybe this would be something helpful to others, if someone could write this?
Bump! I this bugs the crap out of me! I was a long time iphone user and switched to android recently. This is the only thing that bugs me about the switch. With the iPhone I could double tap the home button, scroll left and control whatever music was playing without leaving the navigation app or use the built in app music controls.
On android I have to scroll down to the notification menu, click on my music player, change the song, scroll back down into the notification menu, click on navigation to reopen it. I know it's a little thing but it's really annoying.
Any fixes or work around?
bump again, this drives me crazy when i'm driving! I have to decide before I leave whether I want to use the music app and actually be able to control the songs, or use the GPS and actually see where I'm going. Is there any way to get music controls on the GPS screen, or even another app that will at the very least give you the next turn information and let you control your music from one screen?

I quoted your older post because I don't have an answer for your most recent post.
The workaround is going to depend on your Rom. I have not been stock in over a year so I'm not sure there is one for that.
I usually have my audio steaming through a Bluetooth device and can use that to control my music on all the roms I have tried.
The Rom I am currently playing with is ClearDroid 1.4.1 build 2, which has a recent apps window in the notification area. You can quickly switch back and forth between music and navigation using this. 1 swipe and one press. If music is playing the notification area also gives you info on the track and a pause button. Tapping it opens the music app but pausing the music causes this notification to clear and you would have to switch back to the music app to restart.
I seem to recall more complete music controls in the notification area of other roms. I can load some nandroids to check.
Now I'm in a Pickle

LOL. Good eye!
Figured the "please post all questions in the Q & A section...." was not appropriate for a thread that has been here for so long.
P. S. It's SwiftKey 3's predictive text, not Swype.

Don't encourage me. I have a bad tendency to hijack threads for loads of off topic conversations
Swiftkey.... I'll see if I remember - but if I mention swype again next time it malfunctions, you'll know what I mean.

Hi guys.
Does anyone know how to create a better lockscreen system, apart the default one inside new ICS roms for note?
I mean: there is maybe an app or a mod to have, for example, some functionalities similar to jkay's mod for gingerbread? I miss that much!
Maybe changing launcher?
Thanks in advance
play market has numerous lockscreens..
options is endless..
thx for reply
I suggest widgetlocker

Well I never cared much for them but after reading this I installed Magic Locker and I am liking some of the themed ones...quite fancy
You have Minimalistic text, you can do a lot of things
thanks to all.
I am trying widget locker and I find it quite useful even if not properly easy to configure...
Use either goa ROM or alliance ROM...both of them comes with in built lock screens which can be modifiable using inbuilt applications...goa ROM supports ten different lock screens
