Hi all
I'm pretty new about unlocked phone.
Tried to search on google about this situation but didn't found any anwser.
I just bought an Moto Droid 2 global and it's unlock to be able to use in canada and if I root the phone will I loose the unlock feature of the phone or when the phone is unlock is permanent?

Phone unlock is permanent. You can root/SBF/do whatever you want - it will stay unlocked.

I'm trying to unlock my phone but there's a catch. I can't get the traditional unlock code from the IMEI (long story, just trust me). I've heard that you can unlock a rooted phone, but I haven't been able to find anything for the G2X. Any ideas?
Hi,
I bought a brand new Desire S today off someone as it was an unwanted upgrade. The phone was locked on Orange UK and the before I bought it off the person they purchased an unlock code and had someone from a shop unlock the phone. The phone is unlocked and works on O2 UK perfectly. My question is if I was to root my device and s-off (which i've only just heard/read about as this is my first HTC) and install custom ROMs via CWM would my unlock still work?
I apologise if this is noob question.
Thanks

SIM unlock and bootloader unlock are two completely different things. You will not lose SIM unlock by rooting / custom ROM installation. Go ahead and have fun.

Thanks foryour friendly reply. Great can't wait to get rid of all the unessesary apps that they clogged my device with.
First off I'm a noob at unlocking bootloaders. This will be my first time. I have rooted, SIM unlocked and flashed before, but never unlocked the bootloader. The reason for unlocking is I want to flash CM 10.1/10.2.
So I recently picked up a cheap Droid Razr HD XT925 Locked to Rogers. I have unlocked and rooted it. It is running jellybean 4.1.2
I have been looking around on how to unlock my bootloader when I came across a handy tool called the Motorola Bootloader Unlocking Program. Unfortunately I am not allowed to post an outside link. So please google it. It supports my device. So far I have downloaded the android SDK and installed my devices latest drivers. Is it safe to proceed? Is it a good idea to unlock my device via this method or consider another method and if so which?
Thanks so much for any help you can give me
It's a Motorola service for a Motorola phone, how would it not be safe?
Go ahead and unlock it.
I unlocked mine 2 months ago, and or was the first time i unlocked a phone and my first smartphone.
Nothing to worry about
Go ahead and unlock it of that what you want.

very safe , just make sure you don't interrupt any process
Assuming the boot loader is unlocked, the phone is rooted and a custom rom installed is there a way to network unlock the Z3 without a code purchased online ? Im thinking there might be something like this thread that uses an exploit or something to unlock the phone.
Alternatively, which is the fastest phone unlocking website ?
Hi guys, can you please guide me on what to do for my friend's locked phone, he is coming from Sweden so her phone is locked to use only certain simcards..do I have to root her phone? If I do root the phone how do I unlock the phone? Can I unlock with out rooting? I prefer not to mess around so much with her phone..
Thanks
