Dont know if this was posted on the Galaxy S 4G threads. I searched but could not find it. Forgive me if it has. Thought I'd put this up. Found it in the Galaxy S I9000 Forums. And I followed the settings as posted and My GPS got a quick lock. Going to do some further testing but for those have GPS issues like myself. Try these settings and see if they help.

It seems like the search database was recreated recently, as many MANY threads which previously showed up in search before are now missing.
Has anyone else experienced this? Would it be possible to re-index all threads or restore the database?
edit2: For instance, searching for "MobiTV" used to bring up tens of results. Now it only brings up a Titan ROM thread. Searching for "MusicID" comes up with no results and finally, XM Radio comes up with the thread I was looking for.
I'm sure I could find and document others, but I think it'd be more worthwhile if others searched for things they've recently (in the past week) have searched for and confirmed this issue...
yes I have noticed this as well. the other day i was in search of an answer about Opera. all i typed in my search to the Entire site was Opera. results? 24 results. i also tried searching for an issue with my Hermes that repeatedly came up with 0 search results. whats up with the search function?
mods, please delete thread. This is already being discussed here
Sheesh Alex.....did you read THIS thread?? The search isn't working, how were we supposed to find THAT thread....
Now that is just too funny.
Friends,
I have just installed the new official ATT HTC ROM (5.11.502.2 WWE) and have been having some issues. I thought a lot of people might benefit from having a recent thread just to talk about these.
My current question is this: I have always been able to use MP3 and WMA files as ringtones on WM devices (HTC or other) and even on the original Fuze stock ROM from ATT. However, the new ROM seems to have shut out this capability. When I paste these files into the "rings" subfolder of the "Windows" folder, they still don't show up in the list in the phone rings menu, or in Contacts under the ring tones. They always have before, with no modification at all. Has ATT/HTC blocked this feature to sell more ringtones? If so, does anyone know a way to work around this block? Is there a registry setting that could open this up again? Thanks for your help. And please consider this thread an appropriate place to discuss any issue related to the new ROM release.
use the search function on this particular forum. There are plenty of answers already that addressed your current problem.

Thanks, but I just search this forum using "Ring tones" and came up with nothing but my post. I found a lot of other posts about the general issue in a variety of phones, have tried all of those suggestions, none work. So I would still appreciate specific help related to what has been changed in the new ROM.
I searched "ATT rom update ringtone"
and I got 3 threads that all link to the same issue.

don't search just the word ringtone. Your problem is related to the ATT fuze, the updated rom, and ringtones. Use those criterias next time. good luck.
EDIT: on second search on JUST the term "ringtone" brought up all 3 posts that had answers to your problem. Don't look at just the first thread on top. go through the list and they will tell you what the thread's about.
Thanks.
Thanks, I changed the registry entry that limited the size of the file, and the problem is fixed.
I have been searching for answers for the issue with MMS with manilla 2.5. Till this day MMS still does not work. It seems like this topic died out but yet there's no fix. My question is, why is it that it doesn't work? Does anyone out there know? MMS is such a common feature on phones now-a-days, shouldn't this work on updated technology like Manilla 2.5? I don't get it and I really do wish I knew some software programming because I would attempt to figure it out, but I don't. Is it a ROM issue? I just don't know. Could someone kindly explain a little why MMS has been an issue with CDMA. I'm sure there's other members wondering the same too. Thanks for reading my question.
You are right!
Sense I have had my tp2 i have been in search of the answer to that one thing MMS on my phone working! after 3 weeks 2 days and 23 hours I found the answer. People please just make it simple just make sure that in mms option in sms/mms matches the right connection in your phone connection. also mack sure that the connection is set to default.

give it a try.

What I did was...
1)Install MMS Fix (M2.5) (Verizon) (Valkyrie).cab
Do this right after soft-restting or close out messaging using task manager.
2)Set the MMS server to http://mms.vtext.com/servlets/mms?X-VZW-MDN=<your ten-digit phone number>
MMS server is located if you hit "All Messages" in Manila, then go to Menu -> Settings -> Options then go Menu -> MMS Server
The file can be found here http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.php?p=1424023&postcount=69 for some reason the uploader isn't working.

I have read a bunch of pages on that thread and can't seem to figure out what I am supposed to do. The first post seems like sprint settings. What do I do if I am on verizon? Or is there a specific post in that thread I should be looking for?

.
There is a fix for verizon. Search at PPCGeeks.com for it. Sprint users don't have a fix yet..... I think the problem is with HTC messaging in 2.5. I wonder why HTC doesn't come out with an update for this...they made it.
Throtteabuse, read what I said above. It works for Verizon phones, well atleast for mine running EnergyROM Leo Dec 31st. The file uploader is still failing though, the link to PPCGeeks should have the VZW file.
I couldnt put this under where I downloaded it from as I havent done my 10 posts but I downloaded the superfrankenclean for showcase with the ec10 comavault kernel and under mobile networks and system settings I have home only, automatic a and automatic b neither one is checked and I dont remember seeing this when I had the pick n pack rom for showcase but I also have verizon 3g mobile hotspot application and I have a few other settings in the phone for verizon. Is this ok or have I done something wrong? The only thing I did do wrong that I know of was I added a theme for the fascinate which was the ultimate honeycomb theme and didnt add it on under the showcase forum for superfrankenclean so I reflashed and took that off. I have missed a good many calls from phone not ringing and my sirius xm app says service temporarily unavailable unless I play around with the home a and home b under system settings then it will sometimes work. Any help would be appreciated as us lonely showcase members dont even have a forum which stinks because ive been reading on this site for over a month and dont have many questions to ask now but I cant even post on the very few forums under mesmerize that jt made for us so I hope someone can help.
I've searched the forum and people have asked this question in different sections without a solution being posted.
So my question is, if we use the method in the following thread,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=978470
should we be able to add facebook sync back to our gingerbread devices?
I don't know how to disassemble and re-compile apks otherwise I would have tried it and posted that... since people share ideas and work on this forum, I thought I'd post my idea and see if someone can make it work.
Thanks devs.
