Hello, diehard Graffiti user here.
I have just upgraded from a resistive screen to a capacitive screen.
I have looked at the stylus that are available for capacitive screens and they are all like crayons. I think this is because the software for screen input recognition is catered to fingers. Is there a registry value that can be changed so that a thinner stylus is used?
Samsung is coming out with thinner tipped stylus and so is HTC, but am concerned they may not work with existing OS.
Any info on the registry values is appreciated. NOT a request for stylus advice!
Thanks
Keith

Hi all,
After few day using the Touch Diamond, I went back to Kaiser (the 6th already). Now the Touch Pro is available in my country, I also want to get it.
But in term of the touched screen, I do think that the screen of TP is responsive badly as the one of Diamond. Could you pls share your experience?
Thanks!
Yes,the touchscreen sensitivity was very bad in comparison with Himalaya. Bad sensitivity, small size and big resolution made the device very difficult to use without stylus. But I have increased the sensitivity in registry and is much, much better then default. Now I am satisfied.
Use e.g. Advanced Config Tool 3.2 to increase sensitivity. Works like a charm
I changed the Registry in Diamond to increase the sensitivity of touch screen to 400 it was just a bit better. The middle of the screen was quite responsive but I had to press the other space (especially near the edges) hardly with the stylus.
So I think the sensitivity of the Touch Pro is the same as Diamond.
In Advanced Config go to HTC TouchFlo and change the Pressure threshold and Finger pressure values to Extremely high.
Hi there
I currently own a Touch Diamond 2 and I like the resistive screen. I like to be able to press with my nails and I feel better using this screen than all the new capacitive screens.
But what are my options? My TD2 is getting a bit worn out (already replaced the digitizer 2 times).
I would like a slightly bigger screen - resistive
Slightly better battery life - if possible
but are there any options? It seems like all phones coming out are capacitive

the HD maybe? or, the Toshi TG01 (if you don't mind switching to Toshi, with all its problems because not being supported by this board?)
They aren't new - but are only slightly worse than their successors (HD2/ TG02).
yeah that's actually not so bad suggestions. but i had the HD2 And i found it too big and the screen irritating. so i don't think i could live with the size and the speed of the HD -and the problems and size of toshi.. maybe to get a TD2 again, just seems weird when there are newer and quicker phones. out there...
Acer neotouch! with 1G cpu, 3.8" wvga! and resistive screen!
i hate capacitive screen too!, maybe it' good when you are young, but when you get older, your fingers is not that nice to you.
your fingers will get sore after awhile on capacitive screen!
hey netnerd! Cool that's a very good bet!! The thing is - I don't think it's released here in Denmark - trying to find out I wish it's bezel had been a tad narrower though - otherwise it looks pretty cool i think!
Well, I just wanted to ask, if the screen's technology, being AMOLED or LCD has an effect on the touch sensitivity itself?
I though that becuz AMOLED is thinner than LCD it might be more sensitive cuz the touch sensors are more close to the finger .. am I right? Or it doesn't differ?
Hi,
All candybar phones with a touchscreen and QWERTY keyboard, like i.e. HTC ChaCha, Motorola Droid Pro, Blackberry Bold (Touch) 9900 and the like, have a reasonably small display. And when it comes to touchscreen and especially viewing contents, the following applies: the bigger the screen the better. To this date, Motorola Droid Pro is the one with the largest screen, measuring at 3.1" (very old phones don't count).
I personally like candybar phones with physical keyboard, because it has the best of both worlds. Pushing the "touchscreen world" to the limits has proven to be a challenge for manufacturer, because phones with such form factor can't just have a ever-increasing screen size. For example, a candybar phone with a 5" touchscreen + QWERTY keyboard could be very uncomfortable to use it daily.
So according to you, what screen size will (or could) be the maximum for a candybar phone with a front-facing physical QWERTY keyboard??
[Important note: screen size should be a reasonable one, because I'm talking about a phone, not a tablet that has a usual 5"+ screen.]
Here a link with phones with such form factor:

Is it like the Spen, which is similar to wacom's drawing tablet?
Is it digitlized and have palm rejection, take notes, etc.?

If its the same as the xt3 it works very very well. Palm rejection, or turn off touch on pen tap and double touch tap to turn back on. Writing recognition is very good and pressure sensitivity is good. But at times ntrig can go wonky. All in all comparable experience with the note 10.1 however you have one huge advantage on windows and thats one note. That is one well built program.
