I've not looked at them too closely, but they look very very similar. My Wife is getting a Desire S and I would like to get her an Otterbox Commuter, as I have one on my Desire HD and its great.
would the Desire Otterbox fit?
Just checked the width and the Desire S is a bit slimmer, so I doubt it would fit
it has a differnt desgin. different button placements. and no trackball
trackball? desire HD doesn't have a trackball.
and obviously it will not fit, otter commuter cases are made specifically for the model. you can put it in just be sure to hold on to it as it will surely fall off.
I would too be interested in a case for Desire S, it looks pretty solidly built but a case would be the safe way to go
I couldn't find any specifically for Desire S in my contry yet (Romania) and I was wondering if anyoane tried any of those gel/silicone soft cases for the original Desire on this one ( I don't expect it to fit too well however)
or maybe Zagg's invisible shield or anything similar?
desire ca on desire s
Desire S is smaller,so you need new case, try ebay,or aukro.
Amazon have some cases there already.
The neoprene slip cases for the original desire works really well, because it's slightly smaller it makes it easier to get in and out but without the risk of it just coming out on it's own.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk
The cases for the Desire are of almost no use for the Desire S. Not only the Desire S is smaller than the Desire, also the usb connector and the camera lens are at different locations which renders such an old case pretty much useless.
I wear nothing on my desire s.
But it's still very healthy and good-looking~~XD
Also I don't wear nothing on my desire s. And it is good.

Everything is fine until... it is not!! 500€ is money enough for me to purchase a case. Life will be easier for me... and for mi DS!!
Bye!!
No it won't work, I have 2 cases for both phones and the same design and they don't fit each other...

Hi Guys
I saw many different suggestiong from different people regarding the leather cases and other cases.
In addition i know there are many different cases for nexus one.
I am looking for Gelli case or soft Silicone case for HTC Desire.
Examples for what i am looking (I found it here between the other people suggestions):
1- http://ultra-case.com/product.php?pID=415
2- http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120527097735&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT
If someone found already where i can buy these (above) for the HTC desire , plese share the info.
Thanks
I'm looking for the same. Firstly, I can't believe the phone didn't come with a basic case but I am even more surprised that there are not silicone cases made specifically for the Desire.
Why is this?
I've ordered one from morpethmobiles.co.uk - was posted today so I'll let you know what its like once received.

I think because it's new phone so it's still not fully adapted by the providers. I hope we will see more accessories for this phone soon.

Received today - it's the made for the nexus one unfortunately so there's the hole in the back for the noise cancellation on the nexus. Was hoping it would be a good fit - and it is once it's on but it's a bit tight, it goes on with a bit of tugging and stretching it. Undecided about whether I'll keep it or not yet.
It's fairly well made and will provide good protection on the back and sides, although it appears to have a slight manufacturing defect in it, a small flake of black paint or something actually in the material.
Access to the bottom buttons is fine, with slight misalignment with the power button and it makes it a little harder to press the volume buttons on the side due to the thickness of the material.
I have the same nexus one case for mine, it has been doing a good enough job for me, the nexus badge was easy to peel off, and it fits okay.
Can still use all the buttons fine, so I'm happy.
There is that random odd hole for noise cancelation, but really I'm only using it til I can get gelaskins, and at that price I really can't complain
Capdase
I've emailed Capdase regarding the availability of their Soft Jacket 2 Xpose and this is what I got:
Dear Harvey,
Thank you for your approach
The mention cases (Soft Jacket 2 Xpose) for HTC Desire A8181 which as under production and will be expected at around end of May
Regards
Stanley
CAPDASE
I've been using capdase for years now and so far I've found their product to be the best. Yea so I guess capdase fans would have to wait for a month or two. For the meantime I'll be using a simple soft pouch once my desire arrives.

Great, let us know if you get something valuable.
I'd like a case like this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/2x-New-Silicone...Accessories&hash=item414f16ef5b#ht_1875wt_968
but will the trackpad be still usable?
I buy my cases from http://stores.ebay.com/dcmugen but they stated they weren't doing a desire case (although there appears to be one on there) when I emailed them a few weeks back.
The last ones I got were for my Nokia 5800 - http://cgi.ebay.com/2-SOFT-Crystal-...ewItem&pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item3a50c8bbad and the build quality is amazing.
Lets hope they make one for the Desire otherwise i'll be stuck with the one from Morpeth Mobiles http://www.morpethmobiles.co.uk/proddetail.asp?prod=/73/SD_HTC_Desire_crystal&cat=627
I ordered one over 3 weeks ago but due to the whole Iceland fiasco, I still haven't received it.

More silicones are starting to appear but do you guys know how easy the front button section is to scratch or dust?
I've seen one with the silicone actually covering this controls but not sure about it. The other cases leave them exposed.

Hi, anyone here got the casing like the ip4?
i know that alot of manufacturer did it for ip4 but why not HTC?
even energizer makes one for ip4
i hope desire has some casing like this http://www.iphonefreak.com/2010/10/energizer-announce-iphone-4-rechargeable-battery-case.html
They don't do them for the desire they do a physical bigger battery and a new back case which attacts to the phone as the iPhone is sealed they have to use those type of cases which make the thing really heavy _

Does anyone have any clue whether a kickstand case will become available, or if one will be made? I'm sorta jealous about the EVO I was seriously considering buying a dummy EVO, extracting the stand and hacking it onto the HD, but then I remembered the HD is unibody aluminium :/ Haha so yea
I want one too...
found this:
seidioonline.com/product-p/csr6hev4-bl.htm
but it probably wont fit
Dimensions
DHD 123 x 68 x 11.8 mm
EVO 4G 1 22 x 66 x 13 mm
That case wont work as it just has a cut out for the evo's kickstand to come through
So what that case has a gap for a kickstand despite it being for the dhd
EDIT: Nevermind, that case wouldn't be too god because of the port locations and general size.
Sent using my two thumbs.
Ok, I have thought a bit about this. Would you guys think it would be possible to do this.
Get a case, eg casemate, cut a bit out for the kickstand, buy the dummy evo unit, extract the kickstand, fix it onto the case itsself, not the actual phone.
or we could wait for sedio to make a case for HTC Inspire (renamed desire hd) with a kickstand... Until then MrYuiM could try and make a case with a kickstand

I'm looking for an armband type case for my Desire HTC to use when out running or on the bike. I want to take the phone for emergency's and also because i use SportyPal to track my route, etc.
I don't really want to pay a lot, under £10 would be perfect.
I've had a look around and found one on the auction side for that kind of money but no others. Any body got any recommendations?
Also wondering if there is a different phone of a similar size that has more and would be compatible with the Desire HD
Cheers
Carl
Well, the HTC HD2 and the EVO 4G have nearly identical dimensions.
So anything for those two should work with the Desire HD.
I'm also in the market for something like this but I haven't looked for anything yet.
I use an armband that I got when I owned an ipod touch, I no longer have the ipod, but my desire hd fits in the armband perfectly, only cost a fiver from ebay too

Excellent. In-law has an ipod touch so i will size it up against that and if it is the same size i will at armbands for the touch.

i just got my TuneBelt AB83 this afternoon, i only purchased it as we are theme park freaks and ive lost a few phone on nemesis at alton towers.
the armband is actually very good, and comfy to use, the suprise for me was the touchscreen still works when in the case.
it has the holes on the bottom as well for your headphones, but it takes a bit of effort to make it sit correctly in the case.
it is rather expensive for what it is, and im sure a couple of months down the road it will be a lot cheaper, but it still works out cheaper than looseing another phone.

Thanks for the tip. I've ordered the same one from another UK-seller. Hope to receive it within a few days and post my findings here.
I used my iPod touch arm band for a while, but the phone was too big and would stick out a bit and was very tight! Not a problem in the summer, but when it rains the phone gets wet.
I've ordered a tunebelt from amazon to replace it. Can't see how the phone will fit in an iPhone case, as the size is wrong

Well, I received this APPLE IPHONE 3GS 3G BLUE SPORT ARMBAND and as promised, here are my findings:
Pro's:
- The DHD fits snugly into the pouch, the width perfect.
- The On/Off-switch, headphone jack and micro-usb port are easily accessible through the open parts of the pouch.
- It looks pretty decent.
Cons:
- The Volume-Up/Down buttons are not accessible through a hole in the pouch. It's quite difficult to operate these buttons and because of the snug fit, it's easy to accidentally push one or both the volume buttons. I'm considering to cut into the fabric to make these buttons accessible, but am afraid that this might destroy the pouch altogether.
- The height of the DHD fits into the pouch, but since this armband is designed for a slightly smaller phone, the top of the screen (notification bar) is difficult to read/pull down.
- There seems to be some excess glue on the inside of the pouch and this transfers to the sides of my DHD so I have had to wipe my DHD clean a few times.
TuneBelt AB83
Anyone bought this?
Yes, i have. I use it with a Casemate Barely-there. It's a tight fit, but perfectly usable.
I use it for running.
yes the AB83 was the one i bought
wife tried it lastnight said it did its job well
held the cable out of the way, held the phone securely so yeah recommended
Well. I'm now quite used to HTC Smartphones, and mostly (except for the PDAs and the recent HTC click) used a metal-hard-case with plastic screen-cover (or even complete, as for the Universal).
So now I bought the HTC Sensation and thought. a "simple" vertical flip-out leather case won't protect the device to my needs. The recent HTC Click is small and "capable" of accidentaly falling from 1 meters to the floor. On each other device, there were hard-cases which protected the screen with a plastic-"window".
But as far as I have seen, the only "hard-cases" or metal-protectives leave the screen open, which seems senseless for me.
Does anyone know any shops (shipping to germany) for hard-cases for the Sensation?
I have yet to see a case with a plastic liner over the screen....
thats what you're asking, right?
yeah, something like http://www.pdair.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=10100000_1800000_11000335&products_id=13742 this, but (logically) for the HTC Sensation.
They are selling hard-cases for the sensation there too, but they say "open screen", so without plastic over the screen.
Hey I have seen a awesome case made by the company oterbox it had a plastic screen protector and it had better convenience options to make up for losses of having it in the case I have the evo 4g and it came with a external kickstands to make up for me not being able to get to the one built with the phone
