Anyone getting strange vertical blurred lines when recording snapchat video? It only occurs in low light settings. When I record video from my camera app these lines do not appear. It is pretty annoying.
Did you figure out a fix by any chance? Mine does the same thing on the same phone.
Also having the same issue.
Big blur line from top to bottom, in the middle of the screen.
Also visible in the recorded video :/
** just installed the latest snapchat there, 4.1.05 and no longer have this issue
** spoke too soon, still having this issue !
Same here :/ any fix?

i just flashd the Stock Google Play Edition ROM that was posted in the Development forum to my Moto G.
And i no longer get vertical lines while recoding
So i'm guessing its maybe an issue with the Motorola Camera and Snapchat,
seeing as the GPE Moto G uses the google/android Camera.
FIX!!!!
For anyone still having this problem, opt for beta testing in the settings. One of the fixes in the beta version is for the Moto G's video. Working perfect for me now! :good:

As the title suggests we (at least those who N5) had to upgrade to the camera of google. For heaven's sake in this post is not to say, you no good bad etc. .. But I want to put an attention on the video. You doing various tests from yesterday to today I noticed (unfortunately) an annoying noise in the video is that in FHD 480p. The bug or problem, call it what you want, persists in all kinds of resolution that you put. Arises especially in confined spaces, such as a room or whatever at home, standing in silence and making a normal recovery. Below I have uploaded a little video to show you Yuotube on this issue. To you a review!
Edit: obviously the video was shot in 1080p, this should sentisi more noise or background noise.

In fact, restoring an old bakup I noticed that in the old version the problem persists. As you said the bug there for months. Hopefully with the update 4.4.3 solve.

I really want someone else to give this a go and report back, I unitentionally fixed this problem by flashing a slim rom hdr+ bug fix. The file I flashed was this one http://www.slimroms.net/index.php/d...-4/10260-slim-google-camera-compatibility-fix
Maybe a strange coincidence, anyone else fancy giving it a shot?

Is anyone else is experiencing camera lag when opening the camera app. It's so annoying and I'm curious to find out if anyone else has this issue and if there's a fix for it? I'm with Verizon if that makes any difference.. Thanks everyone!

Fixed with the latest update.

Okay. So I probably should keep this phone... I'm actually waiting on HTC to send me a return email so I can get a new phone. I wasn't sure if it's a common occurrence in other U 11's. Even with a new U 11 the camera would probably still lag..

Sorry, I misunderstood. Are you talking about squeezing to take pictures, or pressing the on-screen button to take pictures? The squeeze has a delay, someone said it's because they want to avoid the motion caused by the squeeze before taking the picture. For the on-screen button, I don't see much of a lag.

1.13.401.1 ROM and firmware
Me two but it's less with the newer update
1.13.401
The update supposedly fixing the problem is 1.16, as reported here and in the following posts, not 1.13. It's not available in many regions yet.
Is HDR on? That will cause lag. Google it for an explanation.

I'm on 1.16 with my HK U11 and after that patch the camera is now much faster but I've no idea why they push the OTA lately to the America regional.
EDIT: https://forum.xda-developers.com/u11/how-to/htc-u11-updates-thread-t3618362/page13
#121 and #122 said US got 1.16 update now including Verizon carrier.
1.16 on my stock U11 has totally killed the lag.
I'll likely update my rooted one once the firmware is available from the US update. The camera app is the same build FWIW

I'm also experiencing lag in the viewfinder. It's not all of the time, but occasionally when I fire up the camera the viewfinder stutters so much I can't see what I'm taking a picture of. The photos take, but it is incredibly frustrating. I'm on Verizon and this didn't seem to get fixed with the last update (.16).

I rarely do video (almost never) on phone. So cant really tell.
But the most notable improvement was the auto HDR logic.
Previously (on .106 or .103), we wont be able to get an HDR picture without actually turning ON HDR mode. Thus when being compred to what we got on Pixel (i own pixel 2 as well so i can compare as well) we will find that P20 pro pic has less dynamic range, both on highlight and shadow area, which cause a lack of details.
On .107 the auto mode (Ai ON, Photo Mode -not night, not pro) do have better detection of what kind of scene being shot. When it detect that the highlight or shadow area are both quite strong in contrast, it trigger HDR automatically, and the result are much much better compared to older firmware result. The detail are coming out nicely, and there is less clipping on bright area.
You can notice when the HDR processing actually kicked in, by seeing, if the camera notify you to hold still the phone for a bit after pressing the shutter, you know the result will turned out better than you imagine.
sometimes it (the HDR) didn't kicked in though, i think its due to where i pick the focus area at. I have a more consistent result when i place a focus/metering to the dark area.
i'll attach 2 pictures in next post. one when the HDR automatically kicked in, and one when it doesnt.

Here you go :
1st picture is when HDR didnt kicked in (on older firmware, i can assure that most of the time the result will turned out like this, unless i enable HDR or night mode manually)
both picture taken almost at the same time.
please note that these was taken behind a dirty tinted office windows, so there would be details lost and flare/ color fringe all around. but it serve well for comparison
Good news! Thank you guys for sharing it.

am one of the earlier customer i guess, been using it since all my previous huawei, and 1 update only take 1 credit, so it wasnt that expensive.
for each huawei phone, i mostly do 2 or 3 updates (only when there's major update)
and normally i changed device already by the time another update come. (just like in mate 10 era, by the time 3rd update rolling out, i already moved to pixel 2 xl) :silly:

First I want to THANK YOU for this FANTASTIC explanation. Thx you so much!!! I search for someone on xda to tell me but no one know tell me the really difrence.
So now HDR is much more better on last update then before. And it is work like Pixel HDR.
I hope when next updates relise you will write difrence.

Hi folks - quick question. I have a CLT-L29 8.1.0.106 (C605). Firmware finder lists several firmware including a CLT-L29C605B121a
I am in the US and purchased the world unlocked version from sobeonline on eBay. Will flashing the 121a firmware from above screw up anything and does it wipe my data?
Been a long time since I messed with flashing firmware (back in the Nexus 5 days!) so thanks in advance for explaining.
I have tried many APKs at https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/#apk195 and some others for OnePlus5/5T.
They are not working.
Anyone have a solution for this problem?
THX.
Also didn't manage to find a working app that gives the same quality like I had with gcmod5 on OP3 before yet

I think SD845 has been released for a while==
When will we get this feature.
Does MGC_5.2.022 have dots on photos?
m really confused, wheather should i go ahead and buy op6 or should i wait for improved op6t !!
at oneplus experience store, i clicked a lot of pics, but certainly i am not satisfied with the quality which we used to get in op3t !! with a gcam mod. It just blows away. M using IP7 as a spare phone and camera is pretty good, m not a iphone guy. hopefully someone find out to make camera better. specifically, portrait mode ported from google pixel 2 ! fingers crossed.
Any version of Gcam I tried doesn't work on the 6. HDR+ seems to be nonfunctional. Maybe it really just isn't compatible with the SD845

It is not working.
After selecting model. either Pixel or Nexus and restart the app, it pops up with error.
If you do not select any model, HDR just don't running.

Maybe after the Pixel 3 release.
With SD 845 doesn't work HDR+; so it's usefuy, for now.
I got Urikills version of gcam to process the HDR+-shot twice. After that, no go. Tried to reproduce but cant make it happen. Settings were Pixel / Nexus 6 auto hdr+ / super fine.
Just saying that there is hope.
