There are a few video apps out...Tango being on the top of my mind right now. Yes, right now the video market kinda sucks for us but I'm expecting the void to be quickly filled by either Google directly via Google Talk and / or by Skype as well (they recently purchased Qik).
There are a number of threads / discussions about this very same topic. I would encourage you to venture over to the General section of the Nexus S and review some of the threads on this topic.
Its been and probably still is being discussed.

You bash on Tango for not being true video calling and you mention the iPhone being hot item. The iphone's facetime is also like tango and is not true video calling (like you describe) it also only works with other iphone4/itouch4 only and wifi only.
You obviously here on the forum reading everything and this "topic" has been discussed before. Seems like you're just making a thread just to further point out/complain something you ALREADY know.

You forgot to mentions Macs. Facetime works with iPhone/Touch/Macs.

I doubt Apple is going to make anything for any other platform besides its own. They did mention opening up facetime so others can integrated or create apps based on it, but not actually make it work for other platforms.

And Tango blows chunks compared to FaceTime, say what you want about Apple but I have yet to see any Video calling App work as smooth as theirs. And yes I've tried Tango over WiFi it's still laggy and choppy.

Yeah tango sucks. I even tried it with my bosses iphone with my ns. It sucked on both ends, so its not a phone issue. Oovoo need to get off their fat... assets... and finish their ns compatibility. Theb we can even video chat to desktops!

Made up story? It's a listing on the bluetooth certification website displaying a variant of a currently existing model.
ATT model is in the works and will be announce...probably within this week as it seems to be finishing up all it's certifications.

How come JCopernicus's thread is merged/moved and subsequently **** upon in like 4 minutes, and there are, what, half a dozen threads in Nexus S general that are out of place? Including a 27 pager that is the EXACT premise of this one..

1. I searched the general section and NO thread came up with what was posted *see 3.
2. It wasn't a question that required an answer. (Don't get me started on how ridiculous the QA subsection is).

I was actually looking for this thread exact thread in my search to post it, but because the QA section is a retarded idea I didn't look inside it. Aside from the fact this thread is from December 6th of 2010, and nearly 150 posts deep. Nobody would bother to look in here for new information even if it was posted.

How is this going off topic since it has everything to do with the ATT Nexus S(the topic of this thread).
The new model variation IS new information, because it was just uncovered today. The announcement of it going to canada is news that has been posted already and is not what I was posting.

You mods need some major improvement in handling and organizing this forum.
Rather than actually cleaning up a mess, you guys just go even further in spamming the forum in trying to make a point. Jeez.

These threads are so dumb. If you don't like your TB, then sell it. Otherwise, stop with these threads. They have nothing whatsoever to do with this phone other than the shared name.

Well, honestly. People insist on posting threads about how much they hate their phones and can't wait for the next newest thing. Then they'll complain about how much they hate that phone.
It's an endless cycle and clogs up the forum.
Google is a wonderful thing for people that want to chase rumors.
That's all this is, RUMOR!

For one no where in my post did I say I disliked my phone, maybe you are insecure about what you carring around in your pants. I was not complaining in any way. This is a Thunderbolt "General" Forum, Since it shares the same name which could end up being the Thunderbolt 2, I posted it. If you are not going to upgrade to the new HTC device then move on to another thread. Please do PM my post to a Mod maybe they will see how wrong you are.

It's really flattering that someone monitors my activity so seriously, but it's not the point Just because I didn't open any thread doesn't mean that I cannot express my own point of view since we're all here on discussion board where we're supposed to discuss. I didn't write SbXLive hadn't done good job. Moreover I even gave him "thanks". I just thought it would be better to put everything in one related thread than create a new one, I had right to write it and I never insulted anybody. I said "thank you for contribution but I thought it would be better if..." I don't think it was especially rude, painful or inappropriate. And It was all between me and SbXLivE. I'm sure he doesn't need an advocate.

My last post wasn't directed to you if you didn't noticed. I don't have any problem, and you don't have to apologize me or anybody else, cos you didn't do anything wrong, but you did a really good job. I've just thought it would be a better idea if we create one sticky thread where everybody can put its own FW, and where everybody can find it's own FW, that's all. EOT

Hey are there any pre-requisites for this app. Coz after i click download i get an error. it reads "Unhandled exception has occured in your application". the options i get are continue and quit. Clicking continue does nothing. I am running windows 7 ultimate X64

Yup, many ways of doing that. As well as searching General and Q&A forums. Try searching only titles in the forum for "download mode" or "dl mode".

He's saying that you should move to an iPhone because iPhone's are simplistic. No hassle of installing things, fixing things, typically Apple controls every aspect of your phone so no worries about download mode or any sort of things.

Here nor there... it doesn't matter what phone you move on to. I don't care.
I have a oneclick that puts you back to total stock, use it. Get'r'done.

Um had a quick question for you when installing the driver Zadig states it as gadget serial what did i do wrong?

Thanks lumin, and actually I encountered a minor trouble. So I panicked a little but everything was fine in the end, I don't know how but the SAMSUNG USB composite device wasn't found. So I flipped through the thread and what do you know, I researched a bit and found out, that the USB ID can also determine the device.

The number on the USB ID which is "04E8 - 6601" can be your device. My phone was named "Gadget" and I was scared that my phone wasn't found but I guess it did find it.
You should put that as a tip/hint on the guide just in-case other people encounter the problem.

Considering I have been on this gs4g forum since we had team whiskey it is sad to see how its turned out. If someone has a question don't be a douche. Just help them or don't reply. There is a reason development has left and some came back. 9 out of 10 its people like you.

Not sure what your trying to get at here or if that was even directed at me. Since I've been around since the beginning of this as well I feel I have a right to respond. I just reread the entire thread and I don't find anything insulting. Some people should move on to simpler platforms like the iPhone. If you can't figure out how to do something after a Dev and two RC's tell you where to go and what to do maybe you're out of your league. As far as devs leaving it's mostly because they upgrade devices. The second biggest reason that I've seen is because of posts like this one. People get fed up with noobs not searching then asking repetitive questions. Look at any other phones forum and you will see the same thing. So your 9 of 10 idea is shoddy at best. Lastly if you don't like the way things are take your own advice and help. You came to this thread just to point out people are "Dicks" and they are the reason devs leave. That is not helpful at all. It's just more BS to wade through. I hope this gives you a different perspective on things but you'll probably just think I'm some **** forcing devs to leave. lol

You're a senior member you don't need to read the original post if you have an idea of what you're doing I don't think you realize that thousands I mean thousands of Noobs that come in there say something is not working but didn't bother to read the original post

I hope that touching on this subject doesn't bring sanctions my way, considering I'm a noob to these forums, but I'll ask anyway. With the original thread being locked due to general dickishness--which frankly I don't get, even as a new member I don't have major issues flashing, and it took me minutes to find the first password. I guess people are just lazy--is the entire project on hiatus or will we just see a new thread soon? I love the work you do and appreciate all your effort, so I'd hate to see it ruined just because a few people are acting silly.

It's still up on AndroidSPIN. If you'd prefer to remain on XDA, I'll keep the Support thread open and updated as long as people keep calm.

AAs a noob myself, i understand the whole pw deal. But what i dont understand is why it is considered someone elses responsibility if someone doesnt follow the instructions and bricks the phone.
We have all made it to this point by rooting and installing custom roms. I have never seen it taken to this level in any of the development threads. All this for flashing gapps, seems a little over the top imo.
All i have to add is thank you for all the work, and if someone bricks their phone by not following directions, so be it. You did your job

Justin, I was not complaining about the password at all, just complaining about all the complaining about it. If someone bricks because they did not read your instructions, it's their fault.

I opened contacts on my d2vzw running the 4.1.1 JT gapps... It forced closed. SO, I went on to my computer, opened the 3.2.6a download I last used and pulled the contacts.apk from it. I put it on my ext-sd, uninstalled contacts.apk from system/apps, and installed the contacts from the last working release I used. Then, I fixed permissions in CWM, rebooted, and boom. Success.
I did all of this without googling, searching these threads, or messaging anyone... and guess what... IT FELT GOOD.
More people should take my lead, figure stuff out for themselves before asking the same questions over and over, and in the end: FEEL GOOD.
We'll end android related depression and solve our problems at the same time. JOIN THE MOVEMENT. haha

Ya everybody that matters is on Android spin again and I guess permanently they just couldn't understand the concept of ignoring ignorant people... I joined earlier this month cuz I knew the way things were going it'd end up there... I guess none of these guys have kids... lol... That's the first skill u learn as a parent is blocking out stupid stuff
