So;
I have an upgrade available to me in 13 days. I am on Verizon an do not want to switch to any other carrier. My GF just got the HTC Thunderbolt and I was wondering what phone I should get. Is there a superior phone coming out in the next month or two that I should wait for or should I get the Thunderbolt as well?
Thanks in advance!
I'd wait for the next galaxy s

I'm looking at getting a T-mobile Nexus S. I have ATT and plan to keep this service. Do the benefits ogre this phone exceed my loss of 3G?

you are crazy if you give up 3g and go back to edge on any of these android phones. they are data monsters which thrive on 3g. kinda stinks without it. plus on edge you may miss calls alot if data transfer is in process.
the ATT nexus s version is coming out in a few weeks, so there is no reason to not wait for that version and buy it for ATT.

does anyone have GPS issues? it takes way to long to find GPS. my HTC hero would find it within a second or two. I'm really regretting this phone. this is supposed to be a next Gen phone?

um.. "next-gen" phones would be phones with dual cores like EVO 3D, Atrix 4G, Sensation, G2x, etc.
and no i don't have any problems with GPS
compared to my hero it should very much be next Gen, that's what I mean.

heres a thread I found on Google http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1077185
Sprint Nexus S 4G was supposed to receive a OTA this week. It's been delayed and not sure when they're going to get it. So you might want to just wait out for that since a radio was supposed to be upgraded and could fix your existing problems. If not you could always return it and get the EVO 3D (?)

It struggles hard to find a lock when moving. Once moving, it loses lock frequently. Coming from a Nexus One, it's a huge downgrade.
This happens even on a cloudless day.
ya it sucks cause I regret getting this phone because of these deal breakers GPS and internet speed... not complaining just disappointed in Samsung and Google

Wait for the Oct 11th Samsung + Google announcement and make a decision then. Hopefully more details will emerge there (carriers, release dates, etc) that can help you to make that decision instead of just guessing.
Today, Ill say Nexus S.
On 12 October, Ill say Nexus S.
Wait for prime, nexus s is almost a year old.

I really wish people would stop calling it Nexus Prime. It's not a Transformer, and we already had a Nexus One, and since 1, 3, and 7 are Prime Numbers, it sounds "cool and all" but one just knocks it off its feet. Wow, I need to not be so angry about this.

I know about the announcement but I dont have a phone right now, b/c my dad canceled the service with tmobile, b/c of att, and I was in vacation and he is lettting me go to sprint, problem is just because google is announcing it does not mean it will come to sprint soon, and im getting impatient lol plus maybe I should buy a nexus s 4g and return it within 30 days if the prime is out

hey guys my brother is looking to upgrade from an HTC hero on sprint. He's looking at the epic 4g and the nexus s. The nexus s is only $50 on amazonwireless, is it worth it over the $150 epic 4g? All the reviews I've read say its a good phone but has signal and reception issues, have those been fixed? This phone would not be rooted so it needs to work out of the box. Thanks in advance for any input.

Its a great phone. Very fast and good battery life. I dont have the 4G version but the nexus s is a great phone. You won't be disappointed if you get it.

only for 50$..Okay..take it..!
Or you could wait until the Galaxy Nexus comes to Sprint. I'm not a big fan of committing to a 2 year contract on a year old phone.
NS4G should be free w 2 yr contract on most sites. I would, however, wait until Galaxy Nexus comes out if I'm getting a 2 yr contract. Spoke to a Sprint rep few days ago and he stated that Galaxy Nexus should be out in June.

There's no way my bro would wait till June haha. His Hero is on its last legs and he's trying to spend as little as he can on a new phone. He would be getting an upgrade as an existing customer, I don't see anywhere that is free with 2 yr unless you're a new sprint customer.
Thanks for the input so far.
I've been fairly pleased with the NS4G, having come from the heroc. It will definitely feel like an upgrade. I would definitely recommend checking other sites though just to see if you can find it cheaper. I do think that the $50 is a fair price though.

I got my Nexus S4G for free at best buy that was in late September & just recent sprint was doing them free on 2 year look around make a few calls

I've had the Hero, Evo 4G and now this and I cannot recommend the nexus s 4g. The signal and reception issue are bad. I can hold my phones side by side and tell the difference.
Pick up one used on Craigslist if you can; I paid $120 for mine. Lots of ICS love for this phone. I also have an Evo and the screen on the NS4G is smaller but beautiful.
well my brother got the galaxy s II epic 4g at a good price locally, thanks for all the input guys
If he's not going to root and he wants his phone to eventually be updated to Android 4.0 then I'd say Nexus S. I highly doubt the Epic 4G is going to be updated. The NS4G hasn't been yet but it will be.

Nexus S is great

The nexus s is a really nice phone. I've had it for a few months and I will never move away from the nexus experience from now on.
But I would not get it on a 2 year contract as its already 14 months old. I would wait and get a galaxy nexus if you can afford it.
But if your low on funds and $50 is all you can spare I very much doubt you would be disappointed with it

Hi guys, I've been searching for this answer a lot recently and were hoping all of you fine users could resolve it for me.
You see right now I'm on Verizon and I want to switch to Sprint for a cheaper line (and for the new Evo,) but my mom wants to stay on Verizon. Today we tried getting the 2 yr. Contract Evo on Amazon and it told her it would have to cancel out her whole Verizon contract, which we don't want. So is it possible for her to have the Verizon and Sprint lines both under her name with out canceling the Verizon one?
Bumpity bump
