thanks devs - myTouch 4G General

To start I wanted to say thank you to all the great devs out there. I am still kind of new to the Android mods but I have been into mods a long time. Before this I had a win Mobile device.... I'll never go back... I got my first droid device the day the mytouch 4g came out. Now I have that and the galaxy tab. Both of witch have custom roms. I love the roms and keep them coming... thanks devs....

I agree, the work that the dev's do is amazing, I certainly appreciate it

Put your money where your mouth is..... donate to devs whose work you're using.

You're welcome! Oh wait.... I'm not a dev :-/

Very nice to see

It's good but I think we need more teams working on this phone still. This creates competition and makes the devs work harder than they already do.

nice, well deserved
Well actually since jaywan is no longer part of teamroyal he will most likely continue pumpin em out which should make some competition in the near future.

Pretty sure that dude is goners. I think he jumped off the deep end the other day... He closed all his threads and was talking mad smack.
Edit: Unless of course he is still working on a site other than XDA.
Probably under a new name so yeah, but I still want more teams and devs working on roms. It's that type that drives devs to more of a user base. Off course without the conflicts but I remember when we had two sense roms on the G1 back in the day from Drizzy Drake and the other dev and each made their roms better than each others in other ways.

shut up.
lol i already spend more time on team royal stuff than i do on my 'real job'
..ok but seriously i def don't have an issue with 'competition' though i don't really consider it that since any other potential devs wouldn't really be 'taking' anything from us (market share doesn't matter when there's zero money riding on it lol) so the more the merrier!
i had just stumbled on this thread and was enjoying reading it until i got to "ya and it'll make the devs work harder"
(for you non-humor types - for the record, i'm being sarcastic .. i am not actually offended by any of that..K??)

I agree more Devs would be nice, Hence why TeamRoyal took a freaking aggressive spot. Where we decided to push out a lot of Roms to hopefully start more Devs to get on the scene. Cause I love friendly competition.
But one thing that makes TeamRoyal the Great Dev Team we are is because we support our Roms. We have Devs and testers on XDA non stop answering questions and solving problems that may occur. You will not find this with most Devs. Also we do all this with a great and wonderful and polite attitude. We dont look down at any of the XDA users and we defiantly dont think we are better then you guys. You will not find one of my guys being rude or crude and if they are I will have words with them. We build Roms because that is what we like to do on our FREETIME. Android usage should be a fun and great time, there should be no flaming or cocky attitudes. That is why everybody on my Team will treat you with respect.
Trust me our Roms our User Base we build Roms for you guys. When I released RoyalThunder, I put a great theme and font in it. Some users liked it others didnt so immediately I built a stock version for those users that wanted to run Thunder but didnt want the Themed version. RoyalGinger is also a great example on how we are user driven we don what the users want.
TeamRoyal has arrived and we are here to stay we have great Roms in the works along with great updates for the already released Roms. Thank you all for your support.

I doubt competition will actually come to this phone. The phones nice and all but alot of people buy this phone aren't power users. Also it's stuck on for 3g T-Mobile or Simple mobile. The phone build quality is nice but not as nice as the g2. If this phone had the g2 design it would of sold like hot cakes. Alot bb users I know actually went to the g2. When you look online you go this looks like a cheap Fisher price toy the white does though. I appreciate the developers work they do. Because they really don't have to give us roms at all. They are the reason I'm actually just switch all my classes to study Linux.

Is there anyone who could post some guides, tutorials, links, or downloads on developing for this phone? I believe that we could have a lot more material if we have more competent developers, so please help out. I will update the OP to include provided links or downloads.

Welcome to Android and goodluck with your InFuSe!
I myself was always a Windows Mobile guy up until almost 3 years ago when i got my 1st Android device, an HTC Supersonic aka EVO 4G. Since then its been down hill, very similar to a bad bad Crack addiction, with ROM Flashing as my temporary fixxx.
I like my InFuSe(s), hopefully one day i'll love my InFuSe(s). My only complaint is that it is too new and there is too little going on with the device. Thank god my HTC Desire HD aka Inspire 4G keeps me on my feet and flash-happy, but instantly i miss that HUGE Super AMOLED Plus display and must go back to a bone-stock device.
I bought a 2nd InFuSe to have as a side by side testing device and / or to donate to the right MIUI dev to get us on the MIUI boat and later found out that we need to get CyanogenMod going before we have a chance at MIUI...
Again, good luck with your InFuSe and with Android. I have a lil sayin: "Don't worry, your not gonna break it unless you throw it, frustration is a bicht!"
You should totally think more about donating your extra infuse to a cyanogen mod dev so we can get that ball rolling. That would definitely get some more stuff going on with this phone.

I really love my phone, I'm trying to get the most out of it. A lot of people seem very, ...uneconomical when it comes to phone upgrades. I've almost had mine for three years. I only pay $20nzd per month for my phone bill, and i'm not on a contract, so I just tossed some money to the side every month and racked up enough for a Nexus S.
I agree!
Thing is, its not just the G1 being kept alive, magics are well and truly alive and kicking due to this brilliant bunch of developers.

Just wanted to take a moment and say thank you, not only to the amazing devs that have helped me out thus far, but also to the flashers, testers, and the rest of the infuse community. As a beginner dev i had no clue what i was getting into but through all the help of the senior devs i have come along way, so far the rom i released has gotten high praises and that means a lot to me. I started development on my rom to learn, progress and share. And so far its going exactly that way. You guys and your support is what keeps me going and wanting to learn/do more. Keep up all the good work, and keep up the amazing support guys. Thank you to everyone. Have a great night/day!

Moving on to the GS3. Thanks for all the support here!!

Hi everyone,
I'd just like to say that as of today I have sold my One S and decided to move on the the GS3. Why? Mainly because I'm looking for something with a better and larger screen. And the fact that HTC doesn't give a crap about development for our phones. The crappy bootloader unlock has been pissing me off, especially since I am on hboot 1.14 and I have to test different ROMs very often, needing to flash in fastboot every time. Without S-OFF, this phone can never archive its full potential, such as repartitioning the nand so that more GBs are allocated for personal use.
But this doesn't mean that I will completely stop developing for the One S. I will continue to update the ParanoidAndroid and AOKP JellyBean until or if they become official. I can't be the official device maintainer though. But the builds will keep coming and shouldn't have any major issues other than the ones in CM10. The kernels, however, will probably remain how they are now because it is nearly impossible to blindly develop and debug a kernel.
Thanks for all the support here; it was TONS better than the Galaxy Player community. I appreciate all the helpfulness and attitude in these forums and what a great dev experience I've had here.
thanks for all your work. I want the gs3 to but can't justify the price

Thank u so much and enjoy with your new phone. But now I feel sad, because your kernel gives me sooo goood battery life and a very smooth phone... You didn't make the two cores to be online like the other kernel here.
So what will I do when the jelly bean come to my phone, and some new updates?? I won't have your kernal anymore.
Now there is only one kernel which I prefer not to touch, only because of the dual cores which are always online.
Also there is not much devs here... I don't believe we will see other kernels here.
So you bought a new phone and that's great for you... But I feel that we lost someone very important - you ;(
Anyway, thanks for your amazing work here.

Hi Klin, i've been using your kernels and they've been rock solid.
Thanks for everything that you've given to the one S community.
It's a pity that you're leaving, but oh well, no one will be using the same phone forever anyway.
I do agree with you that the half ass unlock is a deal breaker.
Good luck, and i hope you will continue to enjoy development with the GS3 community.
Cheers!

I too will be moving to the Note 2 in February when myTMobile contract expires and moving to Verizon. Tired of pitiful coverage in Dayton Ohio.
Good Luck

I heard the S3 is cursed. You should probably get rid of it and get the 1S back. You know, for your own protection.
Just kidding. But seriously, please don't go :crying:
