HTC keyboard for Cymod7? - HTC Inspire 4G

I like the Cymod7 ROM so far. But, I don't like this keyboard. Anyone know where to find the one that all Android Revolution and the HTC stock ROM offer?
I'd appreciate getting my hands on that.

this is the best keyboard by far i have found....huge amount of customization and the ability to back/restore the settings and dictionary is amazing. Use v27, high res, froyo version.

Here you go
I've used this on CM7 and I'm currently using it with MIUI. Just make sure you install clicker_hi.apk first.

This is the exact keyboard I've been using on cyan 7. It's the stock HTC keyboard but doesn't have the arrows I don't think.

Thanks. I'll give it a whirl. I'm trying to get the best ROM option figured out for my Inspire 4G.

Thanks a lot. This is perfect except for the lack of arrow keys. If we could get a version that has the arrow keys on CM7, I would be completely satisfied.

Download SwiftKey X beta. It's available in the market and is my favorite since switching to CM7. I also missed the stock HTC keyboard and this is the closest one to it since it has the arrows available.

Alternative Froyo Keyboard?

Hi. I switched to the Froyo unofficial release about two weeks ago. One thing that i've noticed is that the keyboard for 2.2 blows. Is there anyway to get the 2.1 keyboard back? Or does anyone know of a better alternative one (preferably free)?

This. The HTC one is the best. I love how you can adjust the delay for the popups...makes typing numbers super fast with a 100ms delay.

Did you use Jonasi's posted in the Nexus One theme section. I haven't tried but his has worked on every phone I've owned.
^^tried those versions as well and they just don't start at all.
Still have yet to get it working with a few modifications. Anyone?

There is an HTC keyboard kitchen at:
http://www.gimpsta.com/themer/main.php
You can cook up your own customized HTC Keyboard. Just be sure to choose v27-optimus-2x when asked for a version number. I built a cyan and blue keyboard with 3d shaded buttons last night and it's working great. Good stuff...give it a try.

tried swype, smart kb pro, swiftkey, gingerbread kb, and ics kb...... none compare to this htc kb and its functions.

is there such a thing?

I bought my htc inspire 4g on saturday and rooted, s-off'd, flashed clockworkmodrecovery and flashed CM7 last night. Big change! I love it though, but im a bit ocd and cm7 seems heavier than i thought it would, most likely because of ADW, Is there a flavor, build, etc of CM7 7.0 or 7.2 with gingerbread launcher like the nexus s?
Thanks!

Nope it's ADW, themed, not as smooth or fast as the gingerbread stock launcher.
Maybe ill just stick with it for now, but does anyone know if theres a zip i can flash ontop of CM7.2 that will give me it maybe?

Whats it called? i've never seen it, and does it matter im on the inspire?
Edit: and if it's that one from stevin lin i've heard it's not very good, and buggy compared to roms preinstalled with gingerbread.

Why not go into Market and search for gingerbread launcher?
It doesn't matter that you are on the inspire.
Try MoDaCo's version
the gingerbread launcher on the nexus s is hardware accelerated for the app drawer portion, using the graphics chip. so it wont be as smooth on the inspire or other android phones...the homescreen and side swiping will be the same though, just not the 3d app drawer.

ICS Stock Keyboard on One X?

Anyone know if there is a way to install the stock ICS keyboard on the AT&T One X? In videos I've seen of the HOX, the built in keyboard looks dreadful...especially with those navigation arrows that take up the entire bottom row of the keyboard. I loved the stock ICS keyboard when I had the Galaxy Nexus so is it possible to install it?

I'm talking about getting the official ICS keyboard...not a port by a developer to mimic it to the best of his ability.

Yes, I think Tim Hutt has it, all he did was remove dependencies so that it would run on all devices.
Thanks. So far so good. No FCs. And it doesn't bring up the keyboard menu in the notification bar
I can vouch. I just installed it on my AT&T One X and it works 100%. So much better for me since it's similar to the iPhone like numbers, symbols, etc location being on the left side vs the right side.
I was typing so slow due to this. 100% better now

I don't know why you guys are going through all this effort when there are already ICS stock keyboards that have been ported that are available on the Play store.
I installed this one and it works great.

I totally agree, this one is in my opinion even better. Out of the box the default vibration on keypress is a little strong but if gives you the option to lower the strength to be closer to the stock ICS keyboard.
In advanced settings I changed the timing from 100ms to 25ms and its perfect.

Stock ICS Keyboard Issue

Anyone else having problems with recorrection using the stock ICS keyboard? I thought it was working when I first installed it but doesn't seem to be the case anymore. On my Xoom or N1 running stock ICS, if I place my cursor back on a word I've previously typed it will bring back up the auto-correct suggestions, so you can choose the correct one (like if it didn't guess right). Most people familiar with the ICS kb are likely familiar with this feature.
Any feedback appreciated, this is one of the best features of the keyboard.
Edit: Forgot to mention, I've tried clearing the app data of the KB. No dice.

Apparently its been a really long week.... "recorrection" is only allowed in certain circumstances. I was not using it correctly. If a mod sees this, please close. Thanks.

On every other android phone I've owned you could have as many keyboards as you wanted enabled without annoying popup icons. It seems that icon is there no matter what keyboard you're currently using unless you disable them in the keyboards settings menu.
