Anyone know if there is a way to install the stock ICS keyboard on the AT&T One X? In videos I've seen of the HOX, the built in keyboard looks dreadful...especially with those navigation arrows that take up the entire bottom row of the keyboard. I loved the stock ICS keyboard when I had the Galaxy Nexus so is it possible to install it?

I'm talking about getting the official ICS keyboard...not a port by a developer to mimic it to the best of his ability.
Don't see why we can't just pull the ime apk and install it I stall have my gnex let me know if u need it

Yes, I think Tim Hutt has it, all he did was remove dependencies so that it would run on all devices.
Thanks. So far so good. No FCs. And it doesn't bring up the keyboard menu in the notification bar
I can vouch. I just installed it on my AT&T One X and it works 100%. So much better for me since it's similar to the iPhone like numbers, symbols, etc location being on the left side vs the right side.
I was typing so slow due to this. 100% better now

Amazing keyboard and very easy to install. I uploaded it to google drive and opened it using the google drive app.

I don't know why you guys are going through all this effort when there are already ICS stock keyboards that have been ported that are available on the Play store.
I installed this one and it works great.

I totally agree, this one is in my opinion even better. Out of the box the default vibration on keypress is a little strong but if gives you the option to lower the strength to be closer to the stock ICS keyboard.
In advanced settings I changed the timing from 100ms to 25ms and its perfect.

Exactly, I set mine to 28 and Im good. I didnt like having to hit the extra key just to get to the question mark and I kept hitting the arrow button instead of the space bar.

just an extra keyboard. you'll have to go to settings, keyboard, then check swype and then open an email or something and long press where you type and then choose select input then swype. if you dont like you can uninstall or long press and choose the regular keyboard.
I suggest the black version, by the way.

Swype.micro.black.apk
Using it now ftw
you guys may already know this but it took me a minute to figure out that you have to press and hold the input area and then switch input methods. enabling swype in the settings doesnt automatically appear as the default keyboard.
edit: wow this swype thing is badass
I don't like how swype doesn't have the letter pop up when you press a let normally. Also, in swype are the sym and enter buttons messed up for anybody else? On mine the text isn't really on the actual button.
Hmmm. Apparently I had an old version installed our something. I installed the one posted in this thad and it's much better!
I still would like the letter I press to pop up like on the stock keyboard. If it acted like the stock keyboard when pressing letters normally if it also had the voice text button it would be perfect.
whats the difference between this one and the one i have installed from market? 5.something mb apk
I don't know. I don't get any results when I search the market for Swype.

i didnt think swype was in market and these have been stripped down of all other languages so its not 5+megs.
Here is the gingerbread keyboard - mostly compliments of AndroidBruce. I got another version working from my own SDK - but it is really slow compared to this one for some reason. MD5's on the so and apk are the same ????? oh well here is this one if anyone wants it.
Flash as an update.zip - this was only tested by me on stock dk28.
To enable go to settings > Locale and Text > check Android Keyboard.
I had to go up to select input method 3 times to get it it show up in the list...
Known issues:
Seems that user dictionary doesn't work...i'll look into it.
Perks:
it's multitouch, and best of all its not swype (I feel a "Swype is awesome" remark coming)
Differences from this version?
I flashed it. Its just the stock android keyboard with multi touch. I'll keep my swype
Thanks anyways!

I don't think this counts as an app or theme. Its a PORT that needs continuing DEVELOPMENT to function 100%.
Anyways, the other one I tried made me have to restore because its only for deodexed ROMs. I don't wanna install a rom. I like stock. Will it make me have to restore again?
Ps, I know you said its on stock, butdo you mean the .tar stock or acs rom (which is also considered stock deodexed I think...idk lol)

Thanks for porting the app. Hopefully, all features will be working soon.
I'd say that with this new keyboard, all of the custom keyboards are now largely obsolete. It also renders the hardware keyboard less useful than before, although it's still useful (I'm using the hardware keyboard right now) for longer messages.

Anyone else having problems with recorrection using the stock ICS keyboard? I thought it was working when I first installed it but doesn't seem to be the case anymore. On my Xoom or N1 running stock ICS, if I place my cursor back on a word I've previously typed it will bring back up the auto-correct suggestions, so you can choose the correct one (like if it didn't guess right). Most people familiar with the ICS kb are likely familiar with this feature.
Any feedback appreciated, this is one of the best features of the keyboard.
Edit: Forgot to mention, I've tried clearing the app data of the KB. No dice.

On every other android phone I've owned you could have as many keyboards as you wanted enabled without annoying popup icons. It seems that icon is there no matter what keyboard you're currently using unless you disable them in the keyboards settings menu.

He is most likely on an ICS build which does not have that function. It opens the browser, I tried today to change the function in ICS Sense but the only change I made was to make it TAB rather than browser. But there are many threads around here to explain this, maybe one could go at it with a text editor to achieve what they want?

I designed SickSky for phones and not for tablets. The problem is if I allow it as compatible with tablets on Play, then a lot of people would not be happy with how it runs on a tablet (ie no landscape, no tablet-specific layouts etc). Anyhow it is still in beta for now.
Unfortunately the Play Store says it's incompatible with the HD2.

On-topic: I take it unless otherwise, do you plan to include the ability to create additional homescreens, or is SickSky just a "single screen" deal?

From what I remember Slimbean has a non-standard DPI by default, so you will most likely get compatibility issues with a few apps on Google Play. I have however had quite a few reviews from Galaxy Nexus owners.

It has been a good couple years. For now I am going to focus on building panels to suite most needs. Next up will probably be a shortcuts panel. Not impossible to add widget panels later on, but going to stay clear from that for now since I wouldn't use that myself.

That's cool. When I saw that development ceased on Zeam's Google Play page, I downloaded ADW EX Launcher (I still hold the Zeam apk files). The one feature that these two have that no one else seems to include were the ability to hold a good number of apps in their dock drawers.
