[THEME]CyanogenSense Hero - Complete Sense theme for CM 6 Hero 9/18/10 stable build

CyanogenSense for CyanogenMod 6 9/18/2010 (newest stable)
What this is: This is a theme to change the whole look and feel of CyanogenMod to that of HTC Sense/Rosie.
What this is not: This will not give you Sense widgets or the functionality of Sense/Rosie.
Instructions:
1. Make a nandroid backup in case anything goes wrong.
2. Install CyanogenMod 6.0.0 (9/18/2010 build) for the HTC CDMA Hero from here: http://darchroms.pocketdevelopers.com/cm/update-cm-6.0.0-Heroc-signed.zip
3. Wipe your Dalvik Cache, Cache, and Data.
4. Flash CyanogenSense
Receiving force-closes or bootloops?
1. Try wiping your Dalvik Cache, Cache, and Data.
2. Try "Fix Permissions" in ROM Manager.
3. Reflash CyanogenMod (your SD-card may have corrupted it).
4. Re-download CyanogenSense, and if necessary, CyanogenMod (the downloads could have been corrupted).
There is nothing wrong with this theme that will cause force-closes, as others and myself have successfully installed this theme with no problems whatsoever. Please do not complain about something not working right until you have tried the above steps, otherwise you will just be ignored.

The pictures below are of my phone running CyanogenSense. Please note though, that my phone has the Arial font, as well as Fancy Widget and Launcher Pro(themed) installed. The default CyanogenSense theme does NOT contain those.

Thanks! I just think that the Sense taskbar looks so much cleaner and nicer than the AOSP one.

Oh haha. I didn't even know you asked about that Eventually I'll skin AOSP to look more like Sense, but until a final CyanogenMOD ROM comes and is no longer in testing, I'm now doing full ports... it stinks having to redo that stuff, especially when my X10 port took like 8 or so hours lol.

Nope. As stated above in the first post, I said it was NOT the actual HTC Sense/Rosie. All it is is a reskinned CyanogenMOD.

[ROM-GINGERBREAD GRI40] AKmod-v1 - my personal test rom

Hey guys, i cooked this rom for personal testing. It is based on a stock N1 rom and adamg's test rom #thanks adamg... here are some specs...
- based on the GRI40 (Android 2.3.3) system dump #thanks dsixda
- De-odexed
- Rooted with SU app #thanks chainsdd
- Busybox 1.18.3 #thanks stericson
- Market 2.3.3
- Cleaned up some stuff, you can get all of them in the market
- Email and Gmail inlcuded
- signed
I'm using custom MTD 90 MB system 50 MB cache and everything runs fine.
If someone can help me to redirect the market downloads to sdcard or /data we could use oxy hboot!
At the moment a hboot with bigger cache is recommeded, because downloads are going to the root of /cache
I think you can use Darktremor's Apps2SD Beta 4 Script, if you are running out of space...
I uploaded the rom to Multiupload, but will upload it tomorrow to a fast mirror.

There are no cosmetic mods listed. Hence, looks like a completely stock N1 Gingerbread build.

I have installed ROM-GINGERBREAD GRI40] DevNull-TEST and have allready added gmail and email to it.
To make this a 'perfect' rom for myself i would like to also have the pulldown power notification bar which was included in most Oxygen 2.0 roms that i tried.
Does anybody know how i can add this to my device (flashable zip hopefully).
I have posted this question in the ROM-GINGERBREAD GRI40] DevNull-TEST forum and only got rather rude answers! and in the Oxygen thread were nobody could help.

You will need to add it to the framework of the ROM and recompile it which is not easy unless you're a developer. I would recommend using Widgetsoid from the Market . It does not have the notification power widget but it's highly customizable.

I'm far from a developer but would like to give it a stab. I have unzipped the oxygen rom and unzipped [ROM-GINGERBREAD GRI40] DevNull-TEST rom for comparison of system\framework and am now at a loss. Many of the files differ considerably. Perhaps i am out of my depth lol. What am i looking for?
Any advice?

Hello everyone,
Im a htc user and currently have the cm7 rom...
Believe me its awesome with its customizations
However some things need to be improved
If any of u advanced techies could help me port some of the apps right away from htc sense cm7 or vice versa (former is preferred) we could use sense type of apps on cm7!
Id love the contacts,dialer,lockscreen,launcher to be ported to cm7
Helpme to morph my existing cm7 apps or else pl help me directly install sense apps to cm7 without [parse,certificate errors]. How do i install them!
Iv have two phones one ofwhich is htc buzz aka wildfire{yeah its old} and nexus!

Ask the developer of Cyanogenmod 7 about this . We can't help you , because we're not the developers of the rom . It isn't what you think so easy to just port it inside , it requires alot of source codes and concentration to do this . As a matter of fact , i think that this is a little bit beneficial to Htc users whom are running CM7 rom . However , i won't support this , because the developers can't be supporting for one device only .

U dont seem to have tried sense!! U haven't felt it i guess..
Anyway i just wondered if it was possible to replace res/ files in cm7 apps with that of sense

How I understand it is, there is quite a bit more framework underneath Sense that the apps and widgets to go with Sense need. Sense has some pretty deep tendrils into Android that just a launcher skin.

OK simple answer is no. It will not work. They use totally different framework coding. The Sense apps will not work without the framework and closed sourced drivers. There is no wat to decode them without HTC releasing the code for it which they wont

No you won't has the coding is closed source and without the source code you can't make the needed code changes. Not to mention that CM7 has completely different coding set up from HTC. Sense is not open source so you can't make any changes to it.

Hmm thats odd it doesnt have any lag at all for me. CM will most likely never add it is it is not open source and they tend to stick to the aosp code.

About the lockscreen, I use an App called MagicLocker and downloaded the Sense 3.0 theme together with it, it's not bad. Recommended.

Thats because Sense apps need HTC framework files and drivers to work. Without them they dont wok.

I have never made an app. I only have done themes. if you are looking for a dilaer then dialer one is not bad

[APP][MOD] (not so) Faster (and buggy) TouchWiz Launcher [XXLE4]

I saw a lot of comments about how slow the new TouchWiz launcher is, so, because I had already downloaded the ROM, I want to try something.
I'm not using this ROM, so I don't know if it works, let me know.
This is the new launcher, don't be fooled by its name, that's how Samsung named it.
It should be uglier than the unmodded one, but it should be as ugly as the one from Gingerbread, unless Samsung used more transparencies and fancy shades this time (transparent widget should be affected by this change too). Here the explanation.

If you are not familiar with adb, I suggest you to install an alternative launcher first, then copy /system/app/TouchWiz30Launcher.apk somewhere safe, for example in your SD card. In this way, if something goes wrong, you can always start the second launcher and restore TouchWiz30Launcher.apk with a file manager.
At least until someone tries the two zips to restore the unmodded launcher.

Read the name of the file, fasterTouchwiz-odexed.zip obviously is for odexed, fasterTouchwiz-deodexed.zip for deodexed.

Well I just flashed the deodexed file, and apply with CW and working EXCELENT!!! Good job my friend!!!.
I have the Clean Rom by Luiseteyo V3.1.... So now I have 2 lanchers!!!!.....

I really don't know how this new TouchWiz launcher is, anyway, I explain what I did in this mod.
(I wanted to know first if this really changes something)
Basically this new TouchWiz launcher uses 32bit transparency, or at least that's what I can see decompiling it:

What I did was to put that boolean value to false.
32bit transparency makes everything better too look, but it also slow down the UI. Without it, you should see some bands in trasparent backgrounds, it's the little price to pay to have a smoother interface. (In Gingerbread the default setting is 16bit, so you should see these bands)

I think there are too many differences. Samsung apps use their own framework (twframework-res.apk) and probably this launcher needs the new framework. I don't think you can simply replace it with the new one. Maybe I'm wrong, I don't know anything of this ROM.
Anyway, if you want to see how much this little change can do, you can enable 32bit transparency in GO launcher (it's somewhere in the settings, I can't remember exactly where, maybe it's called "high quality drawing". It's not the same thing, because they are two different launchers).

Nop..... Its the same as the stock. In combination with your Clean pack (V 3.1).... Well the rom.... flies!!!!!!! and give you a choose between 2 lanchers.

I don't think I'll do it now, maybe in the future. I did this one simply because it was fast and easy to apply.
If you want to try again, here I posted the links of some tutorials.

Tested, but not by me
I think that the problem is that there's a transition application->desktop that does a large use of transparencies and because of the 16bit what should be semi-transparent is solid.
It's just a guess, I flashed this ROM for 5 minutes just to fix the WIFI, I didn't even try this mod.
If that's the problem, I could change this behaviour.
So let's try something (this one too is a guess, I don't know if it works or if I changed the correct thing): fasterTouchwiz-experiment-deodexed.zip
(flash the old zip in case of problems)

Thks for the link... Itried and well I get the extended menu... but it´s no fully functional yet.... Proof and error... Im afraid... :good: . One thing... Im not a dev... only a curious guy who want to learn about android and the samsumg phone.
Well I did it!!!. The extended menu is functional. But I must try more and do more test.... So.... Ill hope soon got the flashable file.....

Have a play first.
No issues with widgets atm.
Please note tho sebster, you are on viper? Beware that some things may conflict.
One of which is the clock on statusbar.
Rest reported ok on m8.
Great thing is, just disable in xposed and back to how you were before.
Gah the joy of not having to worry about porting everytime a new base comes out is pure bliss

Then no not atm.
Remember this only early versions. Plenty to come yet.
As you can see many things possible with just xposed.

I tryed it for one's on the viper Rom ,no go ply a notification yellow ,so I try it on a stock Rom this week

Ps: tried with Maximus hd 41 but the xposed module app crashes

Of course you can, but just dont have them both enabled, may conflict
