Samsung Droid Charge? - Verizon Droid Charge

Word on the street its that this phone is suppose to drop on 4/14/2011. Is Anyone getting this phone?
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App

With 4G, Super Amoled+, better camera, FFC, and hopefully better updates due to Droid branding, its still not worth an upgrade from most of the high end phones out there.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA Premium App

Why do you say its not worth the upgrade? I'm only asking because I have one coming soon but I'm not sure where I want to go with it.

With dual core and maybe quad core coming in fall, being stuck for two years with a phone that still poses the same speed as the Fascinate, a step towards dual core makes a little more sense.

I am looking forward to seeing this new phone that sammy has to offer as well however i am not to sure quadcore is comming out this fall that probably is atleast a year down the road .

(1) One-year contracts aren't killed until the 17th.
(2) It's better than the Thunderbolt, and lets you lock into unlimited LTE.

Well a whole lot depends on development...as much as j think the tbolt is meh it has a ton of people working on it and will almost certainly have official gingerbread by the summer
The charge is rfs and is unlikely to see gb in any reasonable amount of time...
I think the best comparison is the galaxy s 4g on tmo...even with all the galaxy s revs and on that carrier...that phone is a joke development wise....no virtually no roms kernels mods at all...and its been out for a little while now
If your happy with a pretty stock device that is barely an improvement over the fascinate.....then I guess the charge is alright

also it seems verizon killed 1 year contracts today already...check their website..no option for it

The only way I'd get a Droid Charge would be if my Fascinate broke. Otherwise, it's not enough of an upgrade to justify the cost. The only other reason I'd upgrade to it early is if they announced that unlimited 4g is ending. I feel that the Charge is closer to an upgrade from the Fascinate than the Thunderbolt, but neither are a significant jump.

Is it made by Samsung?
Oh..it is? Then nope, not getting it.

The unlimited 4g is my concern. I would have got the Tbolt if the camera and screen was any comparison at all. Honestly I do believe that once Big red drops the Gingerbread SG2 there will be a 2.3 upgrade for this phone (droid charge). But I could just be dreaming in la la land about that.

well u could build kernels for yourself as i dont see anyone else getting it

I just received my upgrade for Verizon this month. I'm on a Droid 1 and love it, but I do have a few things that I would love to have better. I'm gonna check out the Charge once it releases (hopefully Thursday the 14th) and see how it runs. Can't decide if I want to wait for the Bionic or not though. The 768 MB of RAM in the T'bolt is tempting too. I just know ill be hitting a 1 year agreement instead of 2. This stuff moves too fast to wait 2 years.

actually you wont be getting a 1 year upgrade cuz verizon killed those yesterday
and if your on xda..im assuming you care about development (roms/kernels/themes/mods)...well the bionic will be as locked down as the atrix (read boring)...and the droid charge unless its ridiculously close to the fascinate and jt and company decide to throw it a bone will have no development (look at the galaxy s 4g subforums for an idea)...if you *need* to get one of the 3 mentioned phones then the tbolt is the only legit option for development...personally id wait on better

From what I read, the 1 year contracts will end on the 17th so maybe if I like the Thunderbolt or the Charge ill grab it on the 1 year. And I do keep up with development on my Droid and a Coby Kyros tablet I have, both having different kernels and roms. I'll probably run whatever phone I get stock for awhile until a lot of testing and releasing gets done on each. And I get what you're saying with the Thunderbolt being the easier one (most likely) to be modded. I can't believe the Bionic us going to be locked down like that.

Ha My Droid has been put through the ringer. It's been dropped on concrete, rained on, and plenty else. Screens still solid and intact though. I love Motorola hardware. Been running at 1.1 GHz for a year straight now. The RAM sucks though which is why I'm so ready for an upgrade. The super AMOLED Plus would be nice to have too.

personally i wouldnt get any of the upcoming phones...id hold out for a galaxy s2 if i stay on big red
but my point on the charge is...the galaxy s 4g is the closest case study to the potential development for the charge...and it has.......none
unless people buy jt and company charges...id imagine it would be the same scenario
the bolt (which ive made my stance of the bolt being antiquated already) at least will have working aosp in short order (they have 3g/4g working on cm7 as of last night)
the charge will be lucky to get clean roms and recovery

Incredible S

If you are in the know, please share with me your thoughts about the pictures that engadget posted up on the Incredible S. The strong reason I did a pre-order with BB for the Tbolt is because I prefer HTC over Moto who has the Bionic coming out. But now that the Incredible S is also coming soon. Anyone willing to wait for it? Or do a 30-day test of the Tbolt then think then? Obviously either would be better than my current Eris. That gimmick with the soft keys that rotate with the phone is nice.
Arrgggg....!!!
It's nice and it has 2.3!! I give up trying to keep up with the latest phones! I need a 7th job to buy a flagship phone every 2 months!
The Incredible s is not even in the same class with the Bionic or Thunderbolt. Look up the ram and processors and screen size.

RAM - arent they both 768mb
Screen - that's really a preference
Processors - they're both 1ghz snapdragons, but maybe the TB has the newest generation chip.. i dunno... I'm too lazy to Google the specs
I think in general they are close, but the TB is available on the 24th (or the 17th or the 19th or the 21st, depending on which BB or CSR you ask). The DINC S looks to only be available in Europe in Q2.
Also the TB has already been rooted do you can update to the new software the future htc phones have.

Yup, I saw that. I've been around the block with Android (look at my signature). I already have my pre-order for the TB and I'll be content with it until at least the Fall, lol...
Wasn't going after you. Just saying with the rooted TB you can add whatever the Inc S has that you don't have. That directed to the op.

Ahh, sorry. I'm just forum happy today.
just curious, kenyu73, do you subscribe to the 1 year plan? you got a bunch of phones in such a short span.
Here is the htc page. But we know they say all the good stuff and leave out the bad.
http://www.htc.com/www/product/incredibles/specification.html
I'm sure the price for the Inc S will be alot cheaper than Tbolt. Only a month apart supposedly since the Inc S will so they say release in March.
This seems more to the people who don't live in the 4G network area since it is only 3g. Smaller internal memory. Anyone else got some better comparing skillz than me?

Some phones I got by using my kids upgrades (i just buy their phones straight out from Verizon or ebay). I have 5 phones on my family plan and the contracts are spread out, usually one pops up every 6-9 months. Plus I resell the phone I had and recycle it into what I got next (or use it to buy my kids next phone, etc).

The conclusion is that the Incredible S is a downgrade. I'm sure though that it will be cheaper for the price concious people. Anyone going to cancel their pre-order for this? I won't.

enough for me to cancel my pre-order. at least give me some time to see what comes out. 4.3 isn't for me. 4 inch screen is as big as I want really. hopefully something good comes out soon.
I wouldn't expect it on Verizon. The version announced is GSM and those rarely come to CDMA. They just happen to be using the name Incredible (notice the lack of "Droid").

I was thinking the same until I realized the TB is almost the same size of my Fascinate. The TB actual display uses more space on the phone then the Fascinate (ie: less bezel). The TB is only like a millimeter wider and tad thicker then the Fascinate BUT actually a tiny-tad shorter!
It's CRAZY!
Thunderbolt is 4g 4.3" 1ghz 2nd gen snap, 768mb
Incredible S is 3g 4" 1ghz snap gen?, 768mb

samsung updates

Hey guys,
I have been debating on if i want to get the charge (when it drops) or hold off for something else.
I have the fascinate and I like it but samsung kind of pissed me off with how long it took them to update it to 2.2 froyo, and I am wondering if anyone thinks this is going to happen with the charge.
I mean shouldn't they have released it with gingerbread anyhow?
sure the devs always have our backs but it'd be nice to be assured the company hasn't forgotten about us.
anyone else have these concerns with the charge?

if you have a fascinate and dont live in a 4g area there is no reason to get this phone

I have the Charge. I had been using the HTC Thunderbolt three weeks prior to my Charge arriving courtesy of Samsung. The Charge is a very good device, comparable to the Thunderbolt. It's considerably llighter in terms of weight but does not feel cheap at all. Don't believe the lame bloggger idiots over at Gizmodo and Engadget that claim the phone should be dual core to be worth the price. The device is just as fast as the Thunderbolt. This phone has the best display than anything I've seen so far. I've owned the OG Droid, Droid X and Thunderbolt, the Droid Charge's display is stunning.
As for size the Charge doesn't feel larger than any other 4.3" device on the market, looks are deceiving. Samsung definitely put some effort in making the Droid Charge the more polished looking device in Verizon's Droid lineup. I've never been a fan of Moto's MotoBlur and was beginning to like HTC's Sense for the brief time I owned the Thunderbolt, but Touchwiz is a nicely designed UI, not as intrusion to the Android experience as I and many others feel MotoBlah is.in my opinion, make your next device The Droid Charge so that the talented people here on XDA Forums have a reason to unleashed the power and potential of the Charge. Only thing I didn't like about the phone was the name. The internal Samsung name for the device was the Stealth. Droid Stealth has a ring to it.

The Mobile Panda aka Black Man X (if you don't know him look for him on Twitter) as a Verizon employee who tests their phones he has not heard of the SG2 coming to Verizon this year, and also mentioned there is no room for LTE in that thin shell so it would be a 3G phone.
I personally keep bouncing around from 4G to 3G (with a 4G modem I have) phones from going back to the TB to the Charge or holding out for the Bionic etc. Its a tough time right now because nothing truly blows me away in the mobile device world, sad isn't it.
The display on the Charge is simply stunning and for that alone I would get one, the only major concern I have is 512MB of RAM (the 17 BLOATWARE apps Verizon put on will come off immediately giving me back about 250MB or more). Will it be enough to handle some memory intensive apps, I don't want to be limited.
Since the Galaxy S was rooted and it received Cyanogenmod and the TB is in an Alpha stage we could also see CM7 or with luck other ROM/Kernels.
If I do get the Charge I will donate to Devs here so we can get the Fascinate goods on this phone. ROM's are critical and so are the kernels to boost speed and help battery life.
well best of luck to those who buy this

my answer would be: dont by either phone unless you live in a 4g area and need one..
wait for anything thats actually a significant upgrade..and yes i know the charge has a nicer screen and hdmi out as well...but to me that does warrant 300 bucks and a 2 year deal
to those that dont care about development and such then yeah i guess this phone is fine...but id bet there will be a rom or two and a voodoo kernel or two but that ll be as far as that goes on this phone...and with the nasty lte ril forget aosp on the level that the fascinate has (which isnt to say the fascinate even has fully working aosp)
and aside from imnuts saying he ll do kernel work if he gets enough donations to get a charge..i havent seen anyone else commit to it
and depends on you define "downgrade" to the bolt...personally i dont want one and have made my reasons why known...but it has a significant amount of development going on..and it can do voice/data on 3g as well..which for many (not me) is a big plus....and the vast majority of fascinate owners who have left for it seem happy
personally im happy with my fascinate until a significant upgrade comes along
^^ What he said. There is no reason to buy the Charge unless you're desperate for 4G. I'll get it and do at least kernel work if I can get enough support to buy one, otherwise, I'd hold off for the SGSII.
If I can get a Charge, I'd attempt to get an AOSP/CM ROM going for it, but given the success that jt1134/kaos have had with it on the Fascinate, I wouldn't expect a fully working ROM ever, unless someone else would get one as well. However, creating deodexed and debloated ROMs would be no issue at all, and I planned on doing that already.
You're da man...thanks
There is no GS2 scheduled for release on Verizon this year. The Charge will more than likely be the flagship Samsung LTE handset for Verizon and followed up by the 7" and 10.1" LTE Galaxy Tabs end of May or early June. With the delay of the Charge release you can almost be certain that it will push back the release of any new LTE handset that was scheduled. Samsung needs to recoup on the R&D/marketing of this phone and Verizon is obligated to make this happen.

Are you the ceo of verizon? Cud otherwise its tough to say that the sgs2 won't make its way there
Att just is releasing the infuse 4g and the att compatible sgs2 just cleared the fcc....so its not like one can't follow rather quickly
Would the sgs2 vzw variant make it out before august though? Probably not
Look what vzw did with the droid 2 and the droid 2 global and now the bolt and inc 2
Considering how thin the SGS2 is and how tightly packed the internals are it likely won't ship until the next gen of LTE chips are ready. They CDMA + LTE is a fatter phone and the SGS2 is all about thin and sexy, not portly and ugly.
That said EOY could happen, but my money says CES 2012 for Verizon since the Charge is still not out.
Now the Infuse caught my eye today and I have searched for the SGS2 info (I want the SAMOLED+ screen) and a better phone, but not jazzed about AT&T and I have not heard much about AT&T release date.
So for me the money is on the Droid Charge especially given how AT&T is now marketing their BS 4G on the with upgraded backhaul mumbo jumbo.
I'm not the CEO of Verizon but I have reliable contacts at Samsung that have informed of the Verizon product lineup coming from Samsung.

The original SGS was GSM as well, and it came to Verizon via the Fascinate. I'd go with a time frame of Aug/Sept/Oct for the SGSII on VZW. As for "sources inside Samsung", those same sources said the Fascinate would get Froyo OTA in November last year, not April of this year, so I wouldn't trust any source inside Samsung...
ok so i guess no one else is concerned about the charge being updated like i am.
the main debate seems to be whether or not the upgrade from fascinate to charge is worth $300.
so what is different between the two?(besides 4g)
charge has better camera
is that about it? both have 1ghz processor and 512 ram rom
Super AMOLED screens
I live 40min south of San Jose CA
and i don't think the 4g reaches down here
i was totally ready to buy this
but now i am comparing the specs of the two phones i am not sure.
and most the views here seem to be split
either for or against
and maybe one for the thunderbolt.

[Q] Should I buy a TB out of contract?

I am really really sick of this Droid 2 that VZW replaced my Droid with. I'm sick of Moto services invading my phone and slowing it down. There's no true ASOP build. This phone sucks balls.
I was set on buying an Incredible 2 OoC b/c it was cheap at $440 and saving my upgrade till later, but where I'm moving to next week already has LTE towers.
Do I really want to wait 2 months using this laggy trash? And possibly end up getting a TB anyway because the other phones coming out suck.
Or do I want to get a TB and save my upgrade till later in the Q4 2011/Q1 2012 when NFC Ice Cream Sandwich phones come out.
Don't want a Charge, poor build material choices.
Don't want a Revolution. Bing...
Does it really matter? Not really... You just root and you can put whatever you want and however you want.
Motorola tends to lock their bootloaders and make it hard to do what you want.
Samsung stated that they'll never lock it that way(Not in those words, but given the sense that they will leave it open)
HTC has been locking down their devices, but not as tough as Motorola does.
So basically pick a device with the hardware you want, and make sure it's root and you can install custom roms/kernels.
The T-Bolt is a great phone, and it has excellent community support. I have absolutely no complaints about my phone (aside from the battery life).
That being said, the Galaxy S II that's coming out looks sexy as hell. It might be worth the wait to hold out for that. Honestly, it's totally up to you.
There was talk about tiered 4G plans, which is what made me opt for the early upgrade to the T-Bolt (hoping to be grandfathered in to unlimited 4G). I haven't heard much on that front, but it's still a possibility.
wait a few months
from everything i've ever read about samsung phones, their software support is absolutely horrible. slow updates, faulty gps etc. i've heard a ton of people complain about the issue, and it seems to be the case with all their phones... never had one, but that's the impression i get.
the thunderbolt is a decent phone, but all it really has over the droid x is 4g. the t-bolt screen might be a little better, but not much. in day to day use it's not faster, the battery isn't even close and the build quality of the DX is equal or better. if i were you i would pick up a DX on craigslist for $175 and save your upgrade for a few months. The dx has even more dev support than the T-bolt and it's the best phone I ever had.
bottom line is, if you really want 4g speeds right now, really really bad, then get the thunderbolt. if you can do without that for awhile i think you will be really happy with a DX, especially after using the Droid 2, and you'll spend less than half the money.
the above is just my .02.
Show me a HTC or Motorola phone with latest software on it
Not you fat Jesus
I bought mine off contract and am very happy I did it. Yes there are a few issues, but nothing a little root cant fix.
Though waiting a few months for a better phone won't hurt, the TB is a great choice.

I just have to say that this cracks me up every time I see you post it.
Once you get a taste of 4G, you will never want a phone that is 3G only. So if you are moving to 4G area and don't want to pay full retail, I suggest you get a used Tbolt from craigslist and use it until something comes along that you like better, then sell the Tbolt
i love my TB, i have it rooted with das bamf NTE 1.6.3 and its about the coolest thing since MP3s.. as with others, the battery life on this thing is fkin AWFUL!! i have the extended battery and i still dont feel like its enough, however i use my phone probably more than i should or more than others. either way the LTE network is retarded fast and i'd never want 3g.
First off I just want to say I owned a droid 2 and it wasn't that bad. I jumped to the thunderbolt just to lock in the 4g rate. The bigger screen is a nice plus but other than that is the same thing. I wasn't overly impressed as other owners of the droid x and 2 have stated is not that big of a jump.
Before I end let me just say other than software wise android phones are exactly where I want them. I don't need a dual core chip in my phone and 4g is. good enough for anything I would ever want to do with my phone. I'm sure most of you will disagree but that's just how I feel. Flame away!

I picked up a TB on craigslist for $350. The custom roms still seem a bit premature, however they should evolve over time. Nonetheless it's an amazing phone. If you have a desk job or spend a lot of time in your car, the battery life is not much of an issue. Just stay plugged in.
Got my TB off Craigslist for a fascinate trade plus 150$. I love it so far.. 4g is amazing..once you.have it you won't want to go back.
Roms are not bad. I'm waiting for a complete cm7 or sense 3.0 rom but other than that das bamf runs fantastic.
If you have the cash and want a great phone with a growing dev community, go for it.

Thank you for all the input.
It's funny the other 2 forums told me I'm a moron and this one says Buy a TB!!!
I use over 2GB of data a month so the 4G unlimited (Hopefully grandfathered for life) makes it very tempting since my upgrade isn't till mid July which is around the time the rumors of tiered data plans landing. I'm also not to optimistic about an actual new phone coming out then. Maybe the SGSII but I really hate the fact that it doesnt have a search button. It's a damn Google phone and I use the search button all the time, for GOOGLE, not Bing!
I didn't even think about craigslist. That might be a good option.
As for a cheap DX. No way. It basically is a D2 minus the keyboard. I like the keyboard, I can sacrifice it for a 4G newish phone but not for an X. and I hate the Blur invasion, and locked bootloader. My D2 has been running custom roms. They're just too laggy and buggy still. Fab, Kejar, and Rummy are awesome, but they all had DXs and the D2 ports were just not good. Most of it I blame on Blur still having to be in there. I've been running GB stock blur and custom and for the first time since my D1 ADW launcher gets kicked out of memory and has to reload when I hit home.... I hate it.
EBay is your friend. Lots of Tbolts available every day, including NIB models. Prices similar to Craigslist, depending where you are.

Honestly I never buy anything without having it in my hands first. Learned my lesson when eBay burned me not once but twice.

Get the tbolt. You will not regret it.

Thunder bolt charge or x2

So I can get a free upgrade and I hour the choice between the 3 phones and I really can't Decide which I've to get 4g will be in my area in august

Go with the thunderbolt or charge and do get it before July 7 th for unlimited 3g/4g unless you already have unlimited 3g

My gf just got a dx2 as a replacement for her fascinate. It's a nice device out of the box. I easily prefer my t-bolt with a nice Rom though. So what I'm saying is if you are looking for a stock experience and don't care about 4g than a dx2 wouldn't be a bad choice. There seems to be little if any developing for the dx2 so it wouldn't be my choice. The dual core isn't as impressive as you might think, although I did notice a little less lag using the camera.

x2 vs Thunderbolt/Charge = apples vs oranges.
I might be biased in saying this but definitely the Thunderbolt

I sell phones at Verizon and I would be lying if I didn't say that I steer people towards the Bolt. That being said I have used all 3 extensively on my down time and my preference really comes down to which has the most support...bolt.

+1 i agree as a rep my self i do rather like the AMOLED screen on the Charge but the dev community for the thunderbolt is what keeps me going
So what happens when a Verizon rep gets caught on a rooted tbolt?
they dont care as long as we are not promoteing it or even talking about it in store since it technically voids warranty. It is our device we can do what we want with it. i show mine to my bosses all the time and are just shocked at the improvments that have been made to it.
x2 if you don't want/need 4G (but trust me, once you see it, you'll want it). Charge if you prefer amoled display & don't mind Touchwiz & you're not a flash addict. Tbolt if you like to try different roms & kernels. Among the 3 phones you listed, the Tbolt dev community is most active

See that's my issue coming from a igor with heavy development so I want development I'll have 4g in my area In august but the t bply ain't much of an upgrade my my phone at least it don't seem like it Sent from my DInc

look at the speedtest in my sig. That is all the upgrade you need!!!
Faced with a similar decision and went with the bolt. Thrilled that I did. Great dev community and love the phone. 4g when I have it is sweet. Family members just got the x2 and in comparison to my bolt with Th3ory on it, the x2 feels wicked slow even with 2 cores behind it
If you don't care about rooting and different roms get charge. That display is gorgeous! Otherwise bolt. Forget about a 3G phone...
X2 was outdated before it came out. no 4g.
now if you really want a huge community go with thunderbolt
if you really reallly like touchwiz go for the charge
oh and if your afraid the thunderbolt isnt an update from the incredible? you'd be sorely mistaken. I used to have the incredible and this is so much better. processor is much stronger (can oc to 1.9) and the ram on this makes it run smooth as butter.
I personally think the Thunderbolt is a gorgeous phone. Loved it since the moment I got it. 4G everywhere allows me to download any new ROM's (200+ MB) in a matter of minutes. Community is damn near booming. Its a great phone, definitely will be sticking with it for a long time.

I don't show customers my Bolt just the demo one HTC sent, they don't mind as long as I'm not telling a customer about rooting.

I went with the last week when my girlfriend and I moved to our own plan. Took it back 2 days later and got the thunderbolt... Best Decision Ever.. lol
Charge honestly felt like a downgrade from my Droid X... even with the 4G
Thunderbolt feels sturdy, charge... not so much
Charge screen is definitely more "vivid" but I feel that the thunderbolts screen was a step up from the droid x..
So while the Charges screen was pretty nice.. thunderbolt is still enough for me..
As far as battery life goes.. I know I only really had the charge for a day.. but compared to my first day with the thunderbolt the phones were relatively equal for me
In the end.. i say tbolt... but its all in personal preference.. never played with an X2

Thunderbolt being replaced by the Htc Vigor?

Nice specs, but what will be the battery capacity?
After this TB battery disaster, I dont think Ill ever consider another HTC unless it's packing like an 1800mah battery
I know I will be. HTC and Verizon dropped the ball with this phone

No one has said yet, that's the big question, but I don't care. I can get 40+ hours out of my extended now on the TB. I'll get the extended battery when it comes out for it.

1800?... i say at least 5000mAh and a turbo charger that can charge it in 10 minutes!
My wife is getting my Tbolt and the Vigor will be my new monster. I cant wait for it. Im not complaining about the Tbol, Ill hit 1.8ghz, 63mflops and it runs CM7 like a raped ape but dual core is what ive been waiting for. Its so sad that the Bionic appears to get released 1 month beforehand and its been awaited for months and this beast will smoke it and appears to be using/ready for ICS with that screen and the processor.
Im excited...... and working overtime in advance
I read somewhere the Vigor will have a 3.5in screen. IF true, I wouldn't want it.
I'm still holding out for the next gen Nexus on Verizon LTE

I wouldn't trust what you heard about that screen size. The Vigor has a 720p screen and a 1280x768 resolution. I'm betting it'll be a 4.3 incher or bigger. Coming from the Incredible, I'm gettin this bad boy for sure.

I'll hold off my upgrade for more information on the Vigor. If it has a slide out keyboard and a 3.5" screen then im not interested. At the moment my beast mode Thunderbolt running Chingys latest Gingivitis is monster enough for me
I hope something with an unlocked bootloader and keyboard comes out soon. I saw a samsung epic like device a few weeks ago is expected for verizon. Well I saw a burry picture of one.

I'm tempted to make either the Vigor or the Samsung Galaxy S2 my next phone. It just depends which comes out first, really. That, and if Verizon ruins the GS2 or not.

If you think this phone sucked on battery life, try out the dInc. I could kill that battery in about an hour. At least this thing charges fast.
I thought the Vigor is supposed to have a 4.6" screen? I'm very interested in a slightly larger HD screen, but my Tbolt performs so well that I'm waiting to see what pans out with the Nexus Prime rumors.
Thanks, Robrecht
Thunderbolt 2 is coming in a few months.
I've seen the pictures of this and a few other phones from my corporate Verizon Rep.
A slew of new LTE devices are on their way, from the Xoom (yes, I you can send your current 3G zoom in and upgrade it to LTE when ready) to other offerings.
Honestly, I saw 6 or 7 devices...they are pushing towards dual core LTE hand sets.
I know...I know.... Cool story bro, pics or it didn't happen, etc.
MY VZW Rep told me and showed me pictures in complete confidentiality.
But I'm letting slip a TBolt 2 is on the way...in a few months.
All this being said, we've seen the delays and debacles for the original Tbolt, for the Bionic, etc. I'm only saying this is what I was shown and told just last week. Anything can change...as we all know.
So does this mean EOL for the TBolt? If so, that was short lived... only 7 months?? Such BS for their "flagship" LTE phone
Gotta remember...we are on Dinc2, X2, D3, etc.
Flagship phone, first and only of it's kind...and I HOPE they learned enough to make the 2 better.
I looked at my rep with big eyes....and before I could say it...he was like yep, a little more than a 6 month life cycle on the OG tbolt.

Good thing I went with 1 year contract before they got rid of them. Sounds like a lot of new stuff to chose from. Might leave Verizon though and try Sprint or T-Mobile. Especially since they seem to carry the Nexus phones.

HTC's not really going to launch them with unlocked bootloaders. They'll offer a tool online that unlocks it for you, but it voids your warranty. You didn't think they'd let you get away that easily did you? Lol
Just search it on Google. The info came out a couple days ago.
