Personal Battery Life Records! - Thunderbolt General

Hi all just wanted to make this so users could compare Rom/Kernel combos and reported battery life. I understand its a rough estimate, but hey its fun to see. Make sure to include stats and rom/kernel

You've got to be kidding me with those numbers... For the 8 hours the display was on how was it used?
Do you have the extended battery?

YouTube, browser, xda, and some angry birds rio. No I don't have a extended battery.

I have gotten similar results with virus and lean kernel on mine with the stock battery. I even get those results while flashing different things and making backups. I use my phone for web surfing emails texts phone calls and music.

If that's real you've got one hell of a setup. I use the same ROM with the 4.3 kernel and get a little more than half of that. Although I'm a little skeptical that is a stock battery.

I wish I had taken a shot of my record, but I wasn't thinking before I put it on the charger. I also made it to a little over 8 hours of use on Perfect Storm with the 4.1b kernel, up-time was around 20 hours. made at least 50 texts, an hour of phone calls, about 30 minutes of angry birds, a bit of web browsing and a lot of youtube, along with other various here-and-there tasks. I'm going to try to make it again on my next cycle and post results then. BTW I keep the kernel clocked at the full 1.4 ghz and brightness on auto.

Question Can I install roms like all the ones I used to on my droid 2?
Just go in clockwork, mount, install zip and reboot?
Or is it somehow more complicated than that?

Not sure why you're asking this in this thread, but no you cannot. you can only install the roms that are made for each phone. Someone can PORT a rom from another phone to work with ours, but someone has to port it first before it will work.

No I have a tb, I'm just wondering if it's the same process

-4G/wifi data was off for 10 hours while I was sleeping. Other time was basically all wifi
-No calls and a few texts
-ROM = Das BAMF 1.4
-Kernel = imoseyon 0.7 undervolted
-screen at 25%
-Email sync every 4 hours, weather every 3, No other syncs.

This is cheating a bit, since I have been near my computer enough to just check email there everyday, and I had wifi and data turned off most of the time. But I took a few calls, uploaded some files, checked GPS, etc. enough to consider this to be legitimate use for me.
Anyway, here's my screen shot - running Serendipity 6.4, Onix 2.0.1 kernel (working so well, why move to 2.0.5), and JQ1 modem. I really only kept the phone on at night so I could get a nice screen cap like this.
Edit: Standard battery that came with the phone.
heres a new one...
Nice... it would be more useful to include the amount of time spent on Display and such.

My battery lasts around 8 hours a day. I listen to Pandora for about an hour, browse web apps, and have several email accounts so not really a surprise.
I am running Firefly 3.0 with lag fix enabled and battery mod enabled which has given me about an extra hour a day over stock.

It's not actually called battery mod, basically it's in cwm. You go in to the settings and before you get to lag fix there is a battery fix that you can apply. Should have explained that better at first, still learning terms and such.

I can get up to 30 hours if I'm just doing regular use a few phone calls or texts. It's hard to tell though because I have it connected almost everywhere I go. Work, car, home. the couple of times I haven't had it on a charger for a while it's lasted a day and a half or so with extended battery

Exactly my thought as well. I may try one of those ultra lean kernels eventually but last time I tried that wifi stopped working. I should note that I live and work in bfe Indiana and my phone fights tooth and nail for a signal all day long which I'm sure further hurts the battery.
The MR2 and MR2.5 were the best by far for my reception but cm7.1 doesn't use them currently. So for the time being I usually spend 50-75% of my time searching for a signal. Wifi at home helps this out but still. The MR radios were more likely to be in the circa 50% area of time spent looking for a signal.

JuiceDefender profile

Hey everyone, I'm attaching my JuiceDefender profile which you can restore. In order for this to work you need the following:
JuiceDefender ultimate
A kernel that has OC capabilities
Root
On order to restore the file into JuiceDefender, extract the zip file into /sdcard/Download and then open JuiceDefender ultimate and hit restore.
Make sure that you backup your existing backup incase your phone doesn't like my backup. Hopefully this works as I haven't tried it across phones.
Share your results below, I have had pretty good results with this profile, lasts me quite a bit of time.
I'd like to note that prior to installing JuiceDefender, I had globally undervolted by 100mV. This is recommend for everyone who wants to go a bit beyond. Also, I encourage you to share your profiles if you feel they will help others.
What were your battery stats? Mine was at 1.9x batter saved and fluctuated between 1.8-2.1x depending on when my last charge was
After a days work: Off charger at ~9am, texting the GF, Facebook, random calls, moderate internet use, ect... I was still 50% battery
*edit* also running DJ-ICS overclocked at 1.72ghz

There is a rogue app in your drawer. download watchlist app, it will keep track on other apps which are hogging your system.
Battery calibration won't and doesn't do anything useful... its more then likely an app or something running constantly. What's your screen on times? Post a screenshot of your battery usage.

[MOD, ICS] Incredible battery life for ICS ROMs

Hi Guys
Well, after witnessing incredible battery life on latest HebMIUI (mostly taken from Pimp My ROM and Adrenaline Injector), I decided to make a flashable for the rest of the ICS ROMs we have here.
I must say I also use the LB6 modem which is known to give good battery life, so you are advised to install it too, but, it's your call.
I also add here AutomateIt app, which lets you decide what the device will do for certain events (open/close wifi/3G/4G/screen/charge etc.) which you can utilize to save battery life.
links to modem & sources:
SGH-T959W LB6 modem
HebMIUI ROM
PimpMyROM
Adrenaline Injector
AutomateIt
I take no responsibility for any damage claimed.
Tested on MIUI, AOKP.
Make a nandroid backup and flash it via CWM/TWRP.
Let it soak in for 1-2 days and let me know what you think.
Does this include the build.prop changes of hebmiui?
Yes. ROM name was set to Batt_MOD instead.
Installed on Remics without any issues. Will report back on the battery life in a few days.
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda premium
Installed on aokp, on boot I get a process is not responding. After that it is fine and so far great battery usage.
i'll try it later.
Currently (CM9 latest rel), Sitting on a desk with full 4G on a 2300 mAh battery, I get about 2-3 days of usage. Plus a few calls and texts.
At school in and out of e, 4g, and deadzone, I get down to ~65%. Then I need to reboot to stabilize or else it will continue to drain at the rate and I'll be dead by the end of the day.
LB6 did nothing for my battery life but I was getting incredibly slow data, so I reverted to KJ4.
I am thinking of padding KC1 and trying it.

Has anyone figured out how to not make the phones battery drain overnight? For me if I leave it unplugged overnight it goes down around 20-30%. I've heard that you can use the app setcpu to underclock the phone when the screen is off. Has anyone ever tried this with our phone?

AutomateIt is exactly for this cause. You can set it to close wifi when screen is off on a specific late hour and open when morning comes for example...

Your phone should be *sleeping* most of the time when you're not using it. CPU speed is irrelevant when sleeping. BBS is the best tool for figuring out why it isn't sleeping.

hm, After I flashed this, whenever I tap on the "(i)" in the news and weather app that
comes with CM9 to see the temperatures for the day, it gives me a message that the
app stopped working and closes..
It might not have to do with this battery mod, but I am trying a process of elimination to pinpoint the culprit..
Would you confirm please if the News & Weather app works after you tap "(i)" in the top right corner?
Thanks..
Edit: I forgot to mention that I tried fixing permission, clearing cache & dalvik cache, but same results..
Hi
the only relevance to this app could be from the system\etc\init.d\S70darky_zipalign script.
Try with and without it and see if it helps.
