[Q] call-forwarding notification issue - Nexus S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hello,
I just started my adventure with a nexus S, running on my 3 ireland sim-card.
However, just few days after I started using, the call-forwarding notification appeared on the notitfication bar, and I can't make it disappear.
All settings in the call forwarding section look OK, in fact, they're disabled.
And I am receiving all phone calls, so there is no forwarding going on.
Anybody experiencing a similar issue? I tried to reset the phone to factory settings and when I sign up with my gmail account, the icon reappears.
It's a bit annoying...
Thanks for any help

Gmail Stuck in Outbox

Has anyone had this problem with the HTC One S? Outgoing emails with attachments get stuck in my outbox (wifi or cellular) and the old "Clear data/Clear cache" under gmail in app settings isn't doing the trick for me here.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
can you use any kind of task killer
sign in/out
turn on/off airplane mode
delete outgoing email if possible
syncing turned on
pull sim and disconnect from tower then then reinsert
remove and re-add account
are the files too big or have you tried a small one too?
don/t have answer, just some ideas--sorry--
Size limit on recieving mailserver? Should say undeliverable though.
Rebooting multiple times, pulling the sim, and removing and readding account seemed to work. Thanks for all the help.
that issue happens to me all the time on any device and usually when my email is so freaking important....
glad you got it
it seems to be a long term gmail issue, not as prevalent as a year or two ago though
It is a long term ongoing issue. Usually when I reboot my device it starts working again. I realized to use either the built in client or k9 for when sending email with attachments from my gmail account.
"solved"
I think I found a way to solve this problem. With Galaxy Nexus android 4.2.
I had a series of emails with attached pictures stuck in my outbox, some since tonight and one since a few weeks. I selected them all and deleted them from the outbox by clicking on the trash icon. As soon as I did this I started receiving replies from the same messages by the people who finally received them. I checked my sent mail and the deleted messages from the outbox were all there where they belonged.
Hope it works for you as well

Issues sending SMS

Hi, I received my nexus 5 a few days ago and I am having an intermittent issue sending SMS messages. It will work fine for hours at a time then will start to not send messages. They will just sit there queued up and the animation will show the bouncing periods but it will not send them until I turn airplane mode on and off or power the device off and restart it.
I have no other SMS app installed, I have already done a factory hard reset after the issue appeared, I have called Rogers and asked them to check my account and to refresh my network settings, and still have the issue.
The only thing I could find is in the apn settings that might cause an issue. The phone set itself up during the initial setup and the proxy sever was set to proxyserver.rogers.com instead of a series of numbers that I usually enter when I use an unlocked phone or a a custom Rom.
I have a white 32gb model. Other than that the software works great

Some problems with Hangouts. Can anyone help?

I'm currently running Google Hangouts 2.1 for SMS. I've been having some problems since updating.
The main annoyance is that I can not change the SMS received notification sound from "Hangouts Message". Doing so in the Settings > SMS results in it just switching to silent (no ringtone). This happens no matter what ringtone I make it, and once I do this it wont change from "silent" unless I delete all data for Hangouts in the App Manager.
The other annoyance is that MMS takes FOREVER to send. 3-4 minutes every time, regardless of signal strength. It eventually goes through, but it always fails, says "Retrying" for a minute or so, then finishes sending. Anyone else struggling with this?
Does anyone here have a fix for either problem?
Anyone not able to get your hangouts and sms to merge? I have the option turned on.

This is one of the reason why am not using Hangout. Try other applications that will work fine for you.

Weird SMS issue when connected to car via bluetooth

I have this issue that is driving me crazy. When I'm in the car (Vauxhall Astra with Intellilink 900 infotainment system) and connected to it by bluetooth, it goes crazy when a text message arrives. It starts to show notifications for historic text messages. It asks me if I want to listen or dismiss the message. If I choose listen, nothing happens except dismissing that message and moving onto another one. I have to dismiss about 30-40 text messages every time! Once I've dismissed all of the messages the system appears normal except it will not report new SMS text messages. This did not happen with my Galaxy S7 Edge.
Anyone else experienced anything similar?
I have similar issues with my Ford Focus where it will constantly alert me to new (old) messages. The November Pixel security update was supposed to have addressed that issue, but I'm still experiencing it. (Further reading here: https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!msg/phone-by-google/_abjcuavywo/1VsWm1hqAgAJ)
On my phone, I ended up going to Bluetooth Settings, selecting my phone, and turning off the "messages" profile.

I've got the same issue with my Ford EcoSport. I thought it was the crappy Ford Sync, now i know better.
Looks like it's a Pixel issue then. I've tried using different SMS apps on the phone but it makes no difference.
Same issue here with a 2016 Chevy Silverado. I went into the settings in the radio and disabled message notifications to prevent this from happening until the root cause can be resolved.

Missing contact info on incoming calls

Got a weird one here for you guys. My ATT Note 8 will not display the contact information when someone calls. If I do not answer the phone it will display a notification that I missed a call from that person (displaying the name). I have checked everything I can think of.
I've tried rebooting and toggling "only display contacts w/ names" (was recommended from a Google search). When it is paired to my company truck it displays the names on the radio as normal but only the number is displayed on the phone. I cleared the cache and data from my Google account. Removed the Google account and redone it. Toggled everything possible in the dialer settings.
When ringing it displays only the number with a button below it that says "add to contacts" but when you go to call history it displays the correct contact information.
The only thing I have not done, yet, is a factory reset.
Anyone had this issue or know how to fix it?
Anyone?
I've had the same issue.... Hope we can find a fix....
Have y'all tried the settings in the phone app (green phone icon)? There's a setting under "other settings" that says show contact info. Mine was on by default so I i don't know why it would be turned off.
Hope this help
Had a same issue. i am from India and i deleted the vodafone applications and boom it was solved.
could be similar issue. go to any phone number in your contacts and see which apps have use the permission and try deleting those apps.
