Well the inspire is hsdpa+ not lte. So its more like 3.5 g. When lte phones come out you will need a 4g sim card.

No a 4g card is a marketing bullish*t way of making a quick buck. Your standard sim will work for 4g once backhaul takes place

He said for LTE phones, LTE phones will use a new sim card... How is a 4g sim card a marketing ploy to make a quick buck when they are free......

A GSM phone will not work on a CDMA network and vice versa.
This has been covered many times already. Please search before opening a new thread.

My inspire wont receive 3G?

My inspire is for AT&T which I have unlocked for t - mobile but I only get edge internet...
I saw there was a number to(call)/ dial to change settings but when I set it to 3g my signal would just stop and say no service. I also heard wasn't possible to have 3 but I doubt that, is it true?

That depends on the area where you are....in the case you are using a different carrier from ATT you wont get 3g...just edge.
So "lay012" gets 3g because he has AT&T?
There's no way then?

For 3G
Tmobile uses 1700/2100 MHz
HTC Inspire uses 850/1900 MHz
So to answer you, there is NO way. Have to get a phone that matches the network.
The stuff they teach you in school 'skimming and scanning' or whatever your teachers called it shouldn't be used in life after school. I didn't see the unlocked for T-Mobile part .-.
I'm on AT&T.

No the bands are hardware dependent. This has been talked about it hundreds of times. A search would have shown this.

[Q] [HELP] HTC sensation 4g went down to 3g?!

After i flashed android revolution yesterday, my phone went down to 3g speeds it even says so when it downloads, did i do somethign wrong? And im with virgin not tmobile
Does it ever show "H"? The Sensation 4G icons are misleading... When you run regular Sensation ROMs you actually see what you're really connected to.
yeah it shows "3g H" in a symbol form ...
i thought my speed went down to 3g since arhd never asked anything about htc sensation 4g for virgin...
Your on HTC sensation on sprint network ?????

My stock 4G rom never showed 3G. It would throttle down to 2G and back to 4G...
Many of T-Mo's original "4G" phones actually showed "H" for HSPA+, but I think too many people didn't understand that.
Any time your new ROM shows "H" then you know it's running HSPA+ (4G).
my phone is from virgin.... i never noticed "H" and a 3g untill in flashed arhd yesterday
4g = h. Also, T-Mobile roms lied, and utms is also showed as 4g. There was no 3g step.
Even with h, you WILL get tmobile's 4g speed, provided the tower supports it, same as before just a different icon.

What's your phone ??? And your running Virgin your going to be diffent speeds on sprint vir and vz

If you have a cdma phone, you CANNOT use it on GSM. This includes even if the phone has a sim for lte, it just won't work.

Need help with switching phones

Okay , I have and lg lucid under Verizon and a Motorola matrix HD under att. Both are 4g phones with micro sim cards and the matrix is unlocked. Should it be possible to switch the sim card to the matrix and be able to use it right away

No as the micro sim on Verizon is for data only and they run on CDMA for talk and the ATT device is a GSM device. The voice signals are not cross compatable.
Now that's just dissapointing. And no way to get around this?
