Build 37, which is the first to include the Honeycomb inspired tablet enhancements, is showing up on their website.

I'm about to flash it.
Also, load the universal gapps for CM7 for working full market:
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php?title=Latest_Version/Google_Apps
[edit]There is a stable, signed release on that page now.[/edit]
tell us how it is. I think this was linked in the nook color forum too. someone mentioned it in one of the "what rom are you using?" threads.
Yes, the thread was originally in the Nook forums, but it was merged in to the main CM7 source today. Showed up in the nightlies that were built today.
Loaded it through clockwork after formatting system and wiping everything. Worked perfectly, and is running great. Nice, quick, and responsive. Going to load up my apps now.
One cool note, it says G-Tablet when you boot it. Definitely the right build.
I re-posted this info on the CM forums. Good eye!
Not development, moved to general.
Flashed this and im digging it. Came from Vegan Ginger edition and it seems like a step up. One of the biggest things for me is that my Apps in the market works again.
This is great news for the gtablet imo. Bodes well for the lifespan (support) of the product.
Fyi, I flashed over vegan Ginger with no ill effects to-be seen yet...
i dont get why this cant be in the development section? its a thread that contains a cool rom just like the others? possibly one of the best...
is there even a roms sticky in this section?
less people will find this gem hiding it in the general section.
sweet rom btw!!
This is a link to another place. It is not a development thread. Its just linking a rom. The developer is not actively using this thread for development
a major milestone for the gtablet!
Market works great, with all the Tegra apps showing up. Angry Birds and Swiftkey Beta weren't working. Uninstalled and reinistalled, working now. Problem with the restore, most likely.
FYI, there is a stable version posted now:

Good to know. I just tried swiftkey (thank you Amazon App-Store ) and it FC'd on me. I'll un-install and try again. Haven't messed with A.B. in a while.
I actually noticed that with quite a few apps backed up and restored with MyBackup-root.
One thing of note - pershoot is now officially listed as a maintainer for Harmony! Pretty cool.

I cannot believe I've never even so much as heard of this anyhwere on XDA before until a few days ago in the "explanation of keyboard lag" thread. I forget who it was that posted it, but I came across this link
http://forum.androidcentral.com/htc-hero-roms-hacks/9522-sprint-2-1-leak.html
Gbhil's roms have always been so stable and fast for me. I was under the impression he was done with rom's. Apparently he at least has been optimizing the leak though. Check out the link, all of the mod's that I used for fresh seemed to work (vanilla lock, xda keyboard, etc...) Very stable Rom, nothing out of the ordinary. Slightly faster alternative to Fresh 2.0d/Damaged IMO, although I could be biased. Only one way to find out though.
Its obvious it hasnt been posted since a lot of the xda folks dont visit Android Central. Ive been running his optimized rom since he released it on the 10th of April.

Do you have any keyboard lag with his ROM?
a little bit. Seems to be better than a lot of ROMs though. I'll throw a party the day that goes away for good.
well dude throw that party flash zenexp and b amazed no kb lag what so ever
A lot of the ROM's without Sense don't have keyboard lag...
well I meant more that when the lag goes away with the HTC keyboard/and sense. Is there really any real advantage to the HTC over the stock android keyboard? That zenulator rom looks pretty nice though. Too bad I can't download anything at work, hate it.
i didnt even know there was another forum that hacked phones, i ASSUMED this was the only one lol, well only one that i actually cared about, what happend to gbhil, i thought he was a part of xda, he moved to that forum android central?

that is the truth Zen's port is awesome........ but lemme see what this one is about
alot of dev's post on both of these sites. Gbhil quit putting out ROM's after someone took his rom, tossed some paid apps in it, rereleased it, or something to that effect anyways. I guess one of the app developers came at him with the blame. Pretty unfortunate because his ROM's were/still are awesome.
I was the one who mentioned this Rom in the keyboard lag thread. But I heard about it when vince mentioned running it. The only issue I have had is superuser whitelist. It simply won't download and install. To be honest, I've never had to download it before, so it may be a problem with the download, not the Rom. Imma pull the apk from another Rom this after and try pushing it through adb.

Please reply and tell us (me) if that works. I'm having the same issue.
Did yall know that dc 2.07.2 and alot of the roms come with the gbhil's memory killer. Its also easy to change the settings to be more aggressive and or less. Also you can download AutoKiller from the market and set the memory setting to anything you want.
Nothing against gbhil but his rom is literally the most basic sprint rom you can get, it will not have an increase in speed compared to dc 2.07.2 or fresh 2.0d.
Both of those roms have all the sprint stuff so it appears to be stock but its optimized to run smoother. They also include superusers and everything else needed.
Pushing superuser works perfectly.
what do you mean i posted up the rom???

its cool. not starting a arguement but sad that he isn't doing any more roms....
I am using this as a daily rom and it is running smooth for me.
Im personally using beezys option 4. Next week we should know if all these rumors are true about the official update and hopefully a new era of ROMs should begin.
I really miss Gumbo 1.5c though................

yeah you were who I was referring to in the other thread. love this rom.
EG just posted that froyo is out. Not like I'm going to flash it anyway but good news for custom roms!
http://tinyurl.com/63kw92g
This appears to point to the Samsung FAQ page being discussed in the "imininent" thread, and the page now appears to be blank when linking to it from the iminent thread or from the Engadget page, so this appears to just be a red herring of no value.
Bob
Wow then...
What a shock
LOL. The day after I finally gave in completely to flashing custom roms. Oh well, it will indeed help the devs. I just hope that it won't have any issues that mess up people's phones, i.e. melting internal sd cards. If that does happen though, I'll just be sitting pretty with my Andromeda 2.1 powered bat out of hell.
EDIT: Now AT&T has pulled it. Whoops!
There are already 3 threads for the same topic.!!! please consolidate mods
That's how I see it. I'll probably Odin back to stock and update to stock Froyo once it's been rooted. I'll put in Launcher Pro and see what it's like battery, GPS, and reception wise. If it still lags a ton, I'll enjoy whatever Designgears does with the official ROM.
In the meantime, I'm enjoying Serendipity 5.6.

Same here. Installed Andromeda 1.1 on Monday. Loving it so far. Snappy pertormance and the GPS works awesome. If I do go to the official update it won't be until it has been out awhile and others have pointed out the flaws, first. Right now, my Cappy is everything I expected it to be and I'm in no hurry to mess that up.
It was never released in the first place. Samsung prematurally put up the support page (just like AT&T did two months ago). Already discussed here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=956155
I have not seen any threads on this yet but thought I would post it. I am new to the GTablet but have an android cell so I am not new to ROMs. So lets see who has some great feedback about there favorite stable ROM.
TNT Lite is probably the most stable, since it's a fixed stock with Gapps added and TNTcrap removed. It's the one I go with because the tablet has become integral to my work, and I want it to work as much as possible.
I haven't tried Vegan, but I've heard with the supplements that it's a very fast, very stable ROM. I don't know about the Ginger variants (as the posts say, they're experimental), haven't tried gADAM, and the reports of market issues have kept me away from Bitrix's work.
+1 for TnT Lite.
I'm also new to the grab and have been experimenting with the different roms. Currently I'm using vegan, but I do miss some if the tablet customized elements of tnt lite. The reason I changed over was because I wasn't able to use a third party keyboard. Is there a work around for this? In terms of stability, they both seem very good.
Sent from my VEGAn-TAB-v1.0.0B5.1 using Tapatalk
I used tnt and now vegan. Tnt ran fine..only problem i had was music and videos on sd card wouldn't be found by players. Switched to vegan and really haven't had any problems.
I have a gTab on the way. I want to be able to use a keyboard and mouse with it while at home. I take it Vegan would be the best option for this? I greatly appreciate any input. Thanks to everyone that develops for the gTab. I can't wait to get it.
In terms of stability, TnTlite and VEGAn are pretty much on par, no random FCs from just about anything I use, except for Colorize Widgets on TnTLite, so I use VEGAn 5.1.1 for now, also because I prefer the status bar of VEGAn.
All the gingerbread ROMs have a fubared market (No "My Apps", Can't purchase, Maps fails). And for me, I regularly get FCs on a bunch of things. But they do have teh snappys, scrolling is super smooth, and things load up really fast. In addition, the gingerbread ROMs are clearly marked as Experimental, so you kind of expect things to break in them.
Hope that helps
Have been using Vegan for a month after stock TnT started FCing.
Other than a flaky market, all has been OK

Just thought I'd drop a line and warn everyone. I've been anxiously awaiting "History: Great Battles" for Tegra devices. Well sure enough it came out last night and to my dismay does not work on the G tablet (vegan ginger). Looks like the resolution or something is off - the menus work, but any movies/gameplay do not. The worst part is, the online download took 15 minutes which negated my "grace period" for return on the Android Market. I've written a letter to their dev team, but have not heard anything back.
Video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=erUZxsdex8g&feature=channel_video_title
Could be just the last of video acceleration on giner rom's. I'm running the same rom on my tablet and watching anything on the zone doesn't work. It had worked fine when I was running a froyo rom, which supports acceleration.
I did read on the Vegan website, that he is working on video acceleration for his rom. Just might have to be patient or change rom's for now.

That would make sense if it was just the "video" aspect that was messing up, but does that apply to the actual game play? Samurai works just fine - as does everything else I try...
Why not try a froyo rom and see or wait for hardware acceleration to be fixed

Glad you have the game running, enjoy, hopefully soon down the road will get the acceleration. The Vegan gingerbread is a great rom.
Dang. I just flashed back to Vegan 5 for this game but it's not showing up in the market! I did the market fix a few times too. Hmm... Any ideas?
EDIT
got the download link to show up after doing the market fix about 8 times.
Not fail for me. Running Vegan5.1.1 and it is running great.
Runs like crap for me. Menus are okay....game play is bad...forever to load....not all graphics are there...unplayable. calkulin w persboot oc.

Actually, after trying out the new vegan tab ginger for a number of days, I'm glad to be back on froyo now. My experience with that is comparable to when I was on vista for a number of days before "downgrading" back to xp. Sure, it's "the new and flashy" thing, but I like stability more than "the new and flashy" thing.
Thought I'd update the thread - I flashed back to Froyo (Vegan 5.1.1) and was very excited to see the game start running. I jump into some of the missions and before I can move any troops, the game crashes and forces a total system reboot.
Looks like I'm going back to Vegan Ginger and waiting for acceleration. Wish I could get a refund.

I had the same issue with vegan 5.1 then I flashed the brilliant colors rom and it works great now. No freezing or crashing on any tetra apps
Got a reply from their customer service:
"Hi Brad,
I'm sorry you are having issues with the game! Please keep in mind that Great Battles Medieval is recommended only on Tegra 2 devices with valid Android Market storefronts, such as:
- Honeycomb enabled tablets
- Motorola Atrix
- LG Optimus G2X
Your device is either not Tegra 2 or does not come with a valid Android Market storefront. To order the game you must have modified your software to enable the Android Market storefront or bypass the restrictions. Some people have been able to get the game to run on your device and you are welcome to try but we don’t have any information on what might help as it is related to the specific software installed on your machine and are unable to support it.
If you would prefer to cancel your order please let us know your order details.
Thank you!
Slitherine Support"
Looks like I'll be filing for that return.
"- Honeycomb enabled tablets
- Motorola Atrix
- LG Optimus G2X"
So what devices are they hoping to run this on? The Xoom, Acer, and Asus.. boy are they missing out on a huge portion of the market.
Yeah, tried to run it on Vegan 5.1.1 with pershoot's kernel. No dice. Menus are fine. But as soon as I clicked the tutorial option, the following screen ran sluggishly and then froze, then black screen, then crash.
Someone said Brilliant Colors rom ran it well? I'm currently loving my set up, how does BC compare to Vegan?
what is your most favourite rom where a majority of the features work? aside from the core functionality, i guess i'm primarily needing the wifi+data+camera to all work properly. will hdmi ever work on any rom?
anyway, please name some roms that you particularly like as i'm late to the triumph party and would like some suggestions. thanks.

FROYO
Right now the most exciting ROM is the Sharp Froyo ROM by Bsydz - Everything works as far as I know, I think he also fixed the voice mail issue
http://androidforums.com/triumph-al...ed-sharp-2-2-2-triumph-updated-6-27-12-a.html
CM7
g60 style - final - This is a great ROM there is a few bugs but most users love this ROM as it's Gingerbread, HDMI does not work. There is also a handful of variants of the this ROM people have themed. The newest one, that is being built from source code is StarShip by chairshot215.
CM9
There is Mantera's CM9 which is a solid rom, however no Camera or HDMI. There is also AOKP by rukin5197 again no Camera or HDMI I have not installed that but I hear lots of cool features not offered on CM9.
G60 style is by far the best ROM as far as I'm concerned.
I am not a big fan of Froyo, but the Sharp ROM is smooth and everything works.
The CM9 stuff is pretty cool but not as fast or stable and the camera doesn't work.
If you want Ice Cream Sandwich, try the G60 style ROM with Holo launcher and the Cynocream theme. That's what I am running and the only difference I see is that there aren't widgets in the app drawer. Other than that, it is pretty much a complete ICS experience.
G60, I was going to post this in the Development forum, but apparently I am not allowed. I am also getting random reboots on your ROM. It never gets to the point of boot looping but it does reboot a couple of times a day. I also have been restoring all my apps and some app data with titanium backup. I will probably try reflashing and not using TB at some point to see if that works. I will let you know what I find. In the meantime, thanks for the awesome ROM! It made me happy to have this phone for the first time!

While I am a fan of Titanium I have found as I moved from g60 version to g60 version I started having more problems. Finally on my journey I recommend everyone do full wipes and dalvik. Then reload apps from Play Store. That always seems to put the issue to bed, it sucks because it's a lengthy process but that is a sure fire way to kill all problems.
Right now we have only 3 supported ROMs.
There are some others, but development has bees stopped, developers left or just putting things all hold.
The good news all ROMs are fully working! Well, almost.
1. Sharp ROM - almost Stock with a few goodies like fully working GPS and Tethering
2. CM7 g60 - as close as it can get to CM7 with all CM goodies minus HDMI and slow GPS. No updates but it is in progress, developers are here, still working, still coding.
3. StarShip - everything CM7 has + theme + few nice tweaks, frequent updates.
Yeah, the Sharp ROM is a port from the Sharp SH8188u. It is fully functional now with Ver6, just has 2 quick fixes that have to be done after you install the ROM. Other than that it is one of the fastest and smoothest options we have.
I was running G60's CM7 before I got the Sharp ROM working. It was very nice.
There are a few options out there but you just have to find what suits you and what you can live with and what you can't.
My current favorite is the CM7 Tickerguy Reloaded 3-25 FINAL! The g60 has some kind of wierd 360 launcher in chinese! The launcher and extra stuff does slow it down! I am currently in development for the Motorola Triumph! I have a new ROM that is called the GingerMOD. I will be tweaking the CM7 Tickerguy ROM!
As for FROYO: DON'T PICK FROYO! ITS SLOW AND BATTERY LIFE STINKS!
And there are no ICS ROMS out there with working camera yet sorry

Good ROM and a Side Note
Yeah, Starship is awesome! I highly reccommend it currently, as it has more of g60's tweaks (A GPS tweak, to be specific), than cm7-g60style even currently has in its stable form. The good news is that sometime in the future there will be a stable (not RC!) CM7 with rewritten device files, so a lot of the issues will be gone!
Beta ROMs
The latest beta mtdev.us release is great for me, at least. Although not everything is working yet, everything is smoother and much more stable. Also, no random reboots after about a week of usage (including leaving the phone on overnight several times). It's rock solid! :good:
