[Q] Using Lockscreen Apps With Cyanogen - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

I am having a problem using Lockscreen apps like GOTO and Widgetlocker Lockscreen with CM 7. Widgetlocker gives me way more problem than GOTO does but neither of them are working the way they should. When I tried using Widgetlocker it pretty much went nuts. It wouldn't let me drag any of the sliders, they were all pretty much just frozen and it kept coming up with the force close pop up. And when I tried to lock the phone it would make the locking noise that the default CM 7 lockscreen noise a bunch of time before the screen would come back on.
Is there anyway at all that I can just get rid of the CM 7 default lockscreen or disable it?
TIA....and yes I am a noob so sorry if this is a noob question or has been posted before lol. We all have to start learning this stuff somewhere

Just download it, open a file explorer, go to it's download location (wherever you downloaded it to) and click on it. Also remember to allow installation of non-market apps in the settings. Another way would to just search for it on the market. Market link - (Free) - https://market.android.com/details?id=com.nanoha.MyLockScreen_free&feature=search_result ; (Paid) - https://market.android.com/details?id=com.nanoha.MyLockScreen&feature=search_result .
This is pretty smooth,
One thing I thought was odd was that in your setup you have an Ad. While not odd in itself, you need to make money somehow. The ad was in Chinese, or Japanese, or some other symbol language.
I'd probably be more inclined to click an ad I could read, just a heads up.
One of the best lock-app. 10/10

Nice lock screen app, but the short cut settings are very unstable. Sometimes they work, most times they don't...
Like This . Thank You .
Tested the free version an view minutes and bought the app. Great look screen!
I like it but the use of a lockscreen is destroyed when just a home button exits the lock.
Great job dev!

looks nice tnx
Hey dev, I have a small glitch. Using the ripple lock and the phone was in sleep mode my alarm went off. I had no way of turning the alarm off. Nothing popped up giving me the option to turn the alarm off. The phone woke up locked but that was it. I was using the stock alarm if that matters.
Thanks.

Is there a way to disable the volume buttons? Right now when the volume buttons are pushed the screen turns on and makes a beep sound
i really love ripplelock, but i have one problem:
if i put my phone in airplanemode at night (to save some battery) and turn off airplanemode at the next morning, usualy the PIN-input-screen pops up. But if i install ripple lock, the PIN-input-screen doesnt pop up, regardless of the chosen double-lockscreen method. only while system security lock is enabled, the PIN-input-screen pops up, but this way i get an double lockscreen.
The only version, which works properly for me without this issue is v2.2, evrey other version above 2.2 has the descriped bug. Thats why i stick with this version and hope this issue will be fixed soon.
(Also I would love to see that the home-button doesnt unlock anymore, while the status-bar is hidden (one of two main reasons, why i use ripple lock instead of the modded system lockscreen, which looks nearly the same except for the visible status-bar and that the lock icon functions only as a slider).)
BTW: I'm on an rooted Desire HD with cm7
Pretty cool app. Slight bugs:
1st time I had a notification written in Chinese or something. Then came up in English after I got through that one. Maybe or maybe not a bug; maybe you could ask the user 1st time setup which language to use.
2nd bug is that I came out of standby and was at the homescreen and then the lockscreen loaded up a second or two later. Maybe it's my midrange phone (Galaxy Ace) causing it to be a bit laggy.
Otherwise pretty awesome app.
I love the look of honeycomb especially the lockscreen. I've been using Ripple Lock for about 3 weeks now. So far so good. Thank you Dev!

Lockscreen disabling by itself

I've been getting this problem recently where the lockscreen will randomly disable itself. No, I wasn't using anything to disable the lockscreen. Anyone else getting this problem and have any idea what's causing it? I've gone through my list of running programs/services and FC's/stopped them, but there doesn't seem to be any common denominator. It's not a huge deal because I like to manually disable the lockscreen except for when it's in my pocket while I'm at work, and I'm using Widgetlocker, but I'd really prefer to keep the stock lockscreen active.

[Q] ARHD issue, no icons on lockscreen or main menu

As the title indicates I have no "goto" icons in my lockscreen and my home screen is missing the most important icons, the only on there is the middle one for all apps.
See file attatched
Is this a know bug and is there a way to sort it? Yes I have tried reinstalling the rom without any luck.
It seems to work with other launchers (Go Launcher and LauncherPro) but I really just want the stock feel.
Also settings seem to crash a lot...
I had this kind of issue with the lockscreen. If you can, try running the HTC setup app. It hopefully will restore it. Make sure you don't have any repeating Force Close messages, especially with HTC apps. That locks up the whole thing and usually forces you to have to restore a nandroid backup.
Well, that kinda worked for the lockscreen, I now have settings and one other thing there. I seem to remember there used to be a way to customize which icons to show? Any idea where to find it?
Anyone got any tips on the home screen icons?

Disable stock lockscreen in titanium?

What is the service called so I can freeze it?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
You cant freeze that. There is nothing to freeze.
Why not just go to the Security portion of settings and disable the lockscreen? Just dont put any pattern, pin, or anything. Then anytime you lock the screen it just powers down the screen, hit the power button and its back on, no lock screens of any kinds.

Thanks.
But I want a lockscreen.
I use WidgetLocker and every once in awhile, I get the stock lockscreen and have to swipe it away, then I get the Widgetlocker screen immediately after and have to swipe that away also.
And a couple other buggy type gremlin stuff. Nothing serious, just bits of annoying.
So it would be easier if I could just delete or freeze the stock lockscreen.

Your not going to be able to freeze it because its not really an app to freeze. Its part of the android.policy.jar and framework-res.apk file. This is what the rom makers mess with when they forcing say the AOSP lockscreen.
As far as why the stock one keeps showing up, something is not right, if you set the lockscreen to none on the security settings, then the widgetlocker should be the only one showing up, you shouldnt have two lockscreens. That only happens if you have the security set to a native lockscreen and then widget locker is sitting on top of that.

Huh, if that's the way it's supposed to be done, then I wonder why WidgetLocker doesn't do it for me.
I just turned off the lockscreen in security (I think) and WidgetLocker is still working. I assumed it would be disabled also, if I turned off lockscreen. We'll see if this does the trick. Thanks.
The lockscreen settings in the settings tab only affects the original one, it cant adjust the widgetlocker one. It doesnt even know about that.
So if you removed the lockscreen from settings, it wont show the original samsung one anymore. If they still have Widgetlocker installed and enabled, it will then be your lockscreen. If you dont want that, then you need to disable Widgetlocker and either get another one you like or put the samsung one back on since you said you still want some type of lock screen, otherwise you wont have any lock screen, just a screen power off.
The lockscreen apps unfortunately cant modify the existing base OS code, they litterally just sit on top of the existing one and sort of inject themselves in there by you giving them the default. But if the stock/samsung one is enabled it still goes into effect, thats why you end up with two lockscreens. So basically you need to enable just one of them.

Yep, it looks like you can disable any security settings that pertain to the default lockscreen. Like removing a pin, or special drawing function to unlock.
But it doesn't actually remove the lockscreen itself.
So I tried "No Lock":
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...nolock&feature=nav_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDNd
This completely disables the default lockscreen.
But on reboot, you still see the lockscreen for like two seconds, then it goes away on its own.
I'll try this combo with WidgetLocker for awhile to see how it works. So far so good, but the real test will be over a few days use.
Sometimes that stock lock screen would come up when I bring the phone out of deep sleep. It's fairly rare, just enough to be a small annoyance.

Are you on a rom with 14 toggle? If It has a locksreen toggle, thats what I used when I used golocker. It never showed stock, except on a reboot.

Interesting Lock Screen/status bar hack

well a couple days ago i was messing around with launchers. i had just finished installing and configuring my home screen for go launcher ex, and like it so much i decided to set it as the default homescreen app.
next i decided to install go locker and see if i liked any of their lock screens. so i installed one i liked and tested it. when i was satisfied with the appearance i decided to reboot the phone just so i can see it all settle in from a cold boot. but hadnt yet set go locker as default.
this is the part that gets interesting:
on boot everything started normal. but my default pin code screen came up. so i entered the pin and right after logging in a window popped up asking me which locker id like to use or select as default.
assuming this was the 'go locker' trying to launch itself after the fact on boot because it wasnt yet set as default i decided, what the heck let me set it as default right away so i can see it all boot up straight in. and im really glad i did.
i noticed after a while of using the device that accessing some programs like messaging, email and facebook that for some strange reason my default lock screen requesting the pin would pop up. id have to enter the pin for the app to actually launch. it was weird but i sorta liked it, and decided to get to the bottom of what caused this glitch over the past 24hrs.
it seems that the initial boot which asked me which locker i would like to use was an action launched by the status bar. thus, after setting it to use go locker erroneously as default, now any time i select a notification from the status bar, the pin code lock screen pops up requesting the pin before giving access to the notification. and for some reason, i really really like this.
i am thinking the lock screen is somehow embedded with the statusbar? wonder if any devs could shed some light on what configuration would cause this. and im interested in setting it manually to other apps as well. i dont mind that its my default pin code screen. what i like especially being able to lock apps with my default pincode screen. meaning i wouldnt have to install any additional software to achieve app launch security for specific apps. for now it only works on apps that notify me via the status bar. i figured out that much.
