So when I'm on a call there's a red rapidly blinking LED light though its very dim. Anyone else notice this? Any mods?
It's the proximity sensor. When the phone is close to your face or turned upside down the screen turns off.
I had this happen last night, but I wasn't on a call at all. I just happened to see it (the room was dark so the dim LED was visible). It persisted for a while but by morning was gone. Battery wasn't low at that point (though it had been earlier in the day) so I was hoping there'd be more insight about it today. =)

Has anyone else experienced the phone when first turned on being bright only to have it flicker after about 5 seconds and get a bit more dim? That's my biggest complaint with this phone. I have found out last night that while I had no lights on in the house it was not happening. Tried it again this morning and same thing. Works fine. But I turned on the lights and it happens again. I have the display at 100% with no automatic brightness. I hope it's not a hardware issue and just software.
My Nexus 5 was exposed to rain the other day. I didn't turn off the phone immediately as it was working. However after some time I noticed that my screen was not adjusting to the brightness. So I switched off the phone Opened the back cover and there was some water present. I put the phone in rice for 4 hours and removed it. There is no water visible. I switched on the phone and everything works except for the light sensor.
Downloaded couple of sensor apps from play store one says lights sensor is not present and other gives off the chart reading. So I think the light sensor is broke.
Is there a way to fix this? Do I need to leave it in rice for some more time?
Any help resolving this issue? Though minor its annoying.

Red light in the proximity sensor is also apparently my Japanese XZ variant.
But my camera flash doesn't turn on when charging phone.
Yes, mine does! When i first turn it on it always flashes once, but also sometimes builds up to quite a bright flickering light. It tends to happen more when charging from a low charge and usually stops if i unplug and plug back in a couple of times.
Your comment is the only reference i've found to it!

my phone doesnt flash while charging if urs does that then its something wrong...and red light proximity sensor is working like it should so no worries mate.if u want to turn that sensor off just go to display setings and find adaptive brightnes and turn off...now u wont have that red dot light but also adaptive brightnes wont work aswell hehe...hope it cleares ur mind
I've had my phone for 2 weeks. Yesterday I was outdoors and it was cloudy. I pulled my phone from my pocket and there was no display. Initially I believed it had turned off. I then realized it was on, but that the brightness was light, lighter than when on 0%. I could barely see the readout. I was able to go to brightness and bring it up so it was readable. I restarted and the problem appears to be gone. Anyone else observe this problem?
My p7p display turned green with screen flickering yesterday.If the display is turned on for a minute or two it goes back normal.But every time it is turned off it gets green tint.Anyone else have this issue?

yep, if the high brightness mode has been enabled (by light sensor or custom software) since the June update.
I am on a custom rom which has february firmware.Not enabled HBM.And phone was water damaged 2 months ago.Can it be hardware damage?
I just had my phone returned from Google after being repaired for this issue and the green flickering has begun again.
More and more reports coming in.
Well that's fun... My screen is defective
Started noticing the other night that when I was on certain sites that I would get streaks down the screen. They moved with the text on the screen and it was worse with white backgrounds. Now when my screen goes on or off, the edges flash green...

It's ridiculous.. this should not be happening. I had it repaired and it's still flickering.
