Hey guys. First off, first post ever. Been checking out the site since I got my new phone and I've found nothing but help on here from reading.
That being said, I've got a problem.
My HTC Desire HD (I believe it is the same as the U.S. HTC Inspire 4g) has very poor WiFi speeds on my home network.
I'm talking SpeedTest results like 500-999ms 1.17/0.50. For reference, my desktop gets 15ms 83/3.
If someone could help me out, give me some things to try, it would be greatly appreciated.

I moved to a new apt about a month ago and have a great 4g signal (sprint is my carrier). For the first three weeks the 4g worked great. Now I will be connected to the 4g signal and streaming a video, playing a game, or doing school work and the connection will just cut out. I will still be connected to the 4g signal and have full bars but have no data connection. I connect to the internet with pdanet or wireless tether (I have tried to use my phone's browser as well when this happens and it also does not have data so I know this is not a pdanet or wireless tether issue). I can turn off the 4g and reconnect with 3g service. I will then turn on 4g again and it will take a good 5 to 10 min before it will reconnect and the process starts over again. I generally can get between 5 and 30 min of connection with 4g before it flakes out.
I could not find this issue on these forums anywhere and have enjoyed reading threads on here, but cannot find this issue posted anywhere so far.
What I have done so far:
1.Restore
2.Reset (installed Azrael's rom with Netarchy's kernel in place of stock sense with unrevoked I had before)
3.Updated prl
4.Updated profile
5.Changed the Wimax sleep mode setting from 10 seconds to 300 seconds. I have not had a chance to test this but do not see this helping considering when it cuts out I am generally in the middle of something so there would be no chance for the connection to time out.
6.Contacted Sprint multiple times and been transfered around and got a confirmation number on a ticket for them to check the 4g signal (still a possibility it is on their end, just want to make sure its nothing on my end)
Are there any other settings or things I can try on my end to verify that it is either on my end or sprints end? I really would like to get this working, it is my primary source of internet and I need it for online classes. I have rooted my phone and do have my msl number so if there are any tweaks I can do with these please let me know.
On a final note thank you to everyone who contributes to these forums. This is one of my first posts here but I have been a regular reader since I got my Evo. I am a huge fan of all the work that the devs and posters put into this site. This is a great resource and I am very grateful for any responses that anyone can provide for me.
P.S. I hope this is the right forum for this topic, if it is not please let me know and I will move it asap!
I apologize for posting in the wrong forum. I have moved to the Evo page. Any dev please delete this post. The new post is at

Again sorry about this, I am brand new to the site.
From the posts that have read 4g problems almost always are Kernel related... Especially Bfs kernels.
Have you tried any other kernel and duplicated the failure?
Net's 4.3.2 cfs kernels work great with my 004 hardware EVO running MikFroYo 4.4 (IMO the absolute best Rom choice for your EVO)

Hey people, i just tried to root my inspire with the new one click and something went wrong and made it a desire HD. i really need help here\
EDIT: i fixed it
If it simply runs the hack kit or does the same thing, thats correct.
Desire HD and this are more or less the same thing.
The H+ icon is gone, but if you got HSPA+ in your area and it put the shipped radio back in, you'll still get HSPA+ speeds.
If you got Audio, you should be all set.
BTW, if it DOES have the H+ icon, you're all set for sure.. Desire HD doesnt have that icon in its rom any where, only the inspire has that.
There's already a thread opened for the hack kit, please read there if you find any solution to your problem; if not.. post there instead of opening a new thread.
On that note, thread closed.
Hi,
I'm just trying to find out from Sensation users how bad the network signal loss problem is that I have heard about with the Sensation when it has a case on?
Are these people nit picking or is this a real fault ?
I recall the HTC Desire HD apparently 'had' this problem but I have personally found with a Case-mate Tough my signal has always been fine but others have apparently had problems with that same case.
Just really looking for input from Sensation owners about this as I am considering upgrading to the Sensation.
Too many threads on this -.-
Anywho, it is a real problem. However the signal loss is not from the network, rather with wifi. I've come to terms with it as I don't really use my phone in landscape much anymore save for watching videos or browsing the web. I just hold the phone towards the bottom.
Definetly is a real problem though, no one on this board is exaggerating.
One way you can increase WiFi connectivity is to do as follows:
Go to Settings>Wireless & Networks>WiFi Settings **hit menu on the phone** and select Best WiFi performance
Got a case on my sensation, and no problems with wifi here, near enough always showing full strength 8)

Hello everyone!
Once again I find myself asking the geniuses of xda for help! xD
I've got a weird bug with my HTC Sensation XE, when I run wired tether it works great for so long (usually 15 mins or so) then becomes really slow then the network adapter itself in windows disables itself! Its the weirdest thing I've seen to do with my phone for ages! ~
Does anyone know what might be causing this?
I even bought pdanet+ to try and solve it and although that works great on my laptop, that doesn't work on my pc either. It connects to the phone but no internet at all!
I would be very appreciative is anyone has any thoughts on this that they could share?
Thanks everyone in advance!
All the best
Will :fingers-crossed:
