Question regarding streaming video/hdmi out - Xoom Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Here is what I'm trying to do. I watch a lot of streams and I would like to connect my xoom to my hdtv which does 1080i so I can watch the streams on a large monitor. however, the quality on my lcd tv is for lack of a better word, crap. Is there anything I can do to improve the quality or am I basically stuck with what I'm getting when I connect my xoom to my tv?
Thanks.
PS- The same can be said of divx files and other movie files I load onto my xoom. They are higher quality on the device than they are on the tv.

[Q] Smoothness of non-native video - Favor for Xoom owners.

I am seriously buying one after doing my research of all the tablets coming out. Xoom still seems the best.
One of the make or break things for me is the smoothness of video playback.
On my evo, i use qqplayer, rock player, vplayer to watch tv shows/movies I converted with handbrake of my blurays and tv series. I stream these files over my home network. Some are plain divx avi's, some are 720p/1080p mkvs. When i feel like watching it on a trip or something, i just throw files on my phone to watch on the go.
Due to the small size of the screen, the phone plays the files as is just fine with no hiccups.
Can a Xoom owner, please install one of those apps mentioned, and throw both a sd video (divx avi like for a tv show episode) and a 720p and 1080p mkv (like the bd rip movies) and see how she plays them?
Any stuttering? Video/sound stay in sync?
I really do not want to reencode all my files to 'native hardware' accelerated support files. Hopefully the dualcore tegra is enough to run software decode via these players on the higher res screen smoothly.
Thanks
Did you search? There are a ton of 20 page threads already about this.
Honestly it's been done to death!
No, so far the Xoom will not play high profile h.264 files well.
Probably 6 different threads on this already.

[Q] Video Quality on TF and through HDMI

When i watch DivX in my TF through MoboPlayer i feel that the quality is kind of bad. If i play the same file in my PS3 in a 42" tv its way better.
Is there anything I can do to improve the quality?
Also if i play the same file through HDMI the same signs of poor quality appear.
The img is pixelated and choppy. One might say that it is because im playing a DivX on a large screen, but that is never a problem with the playstation.
If you use the same file then it should be the same quality. At least in DicePlayer is the same.

Does video streamed via MHL depend on resolution of android phone?

I want to know if video streamed through MHL depends on the resolution of the screen of the android phone. For example if I stream a 4K video to a 4K tv on a Note 3 or a MHL 3.0 capable device, will the video only be played at 1080p because of the screen resolution of the note or will it be streamed in full glory like in DLNA??
I also want to know if this is the case with the Z1 compact and the SGS3 which have 720p screens. Will 1080p video be streamed at 720p??
I understand that in the case of screen mirroring for games and such this is the case as obviously you are only streaming what is on the screen.
But MHL plays only the video and does not display the controls and such many times which is why I ask.
If you do not know, please do not make guesses.
Thank you.

[Q] Stream to Samsung TV

Hi.
Is there a way to stream the conact directly to the samsung TV?
Im using the Show box to stream the movies online and the MX Player to see the movie and the imbedded translation. I want to stream the movie directly to the Samsung TV that I have like the built in video player.
To overcome this today, I use the screen mirroring, but this drains my battery quite fast as the phone screen has to stay on at the same time that I stream the movie.
Please advise if this is possible.
Thanks.
You need to check wheter your videos are compatible with Samsung TV first in that as far as I know, Samsung TV only can support MP4, WMV well. Maybe a tool should be helpful to you for encoding videos into MP4.

Android Livestream Encoding App

Hi folks.
There's a tonne of encoders that are USB that record video from Hdmi I put etc. So it got me thinking, is it not possible to have an app that captures PC video and audio and encodes it and then sends back to the PC to stream to say twitch or Google gaming?
Either that or stream from the phone directly or worst case just record the video.
Half these boxes you buy have terrible hardware, my s7 edge should be more than powerful enough to encode 720-1080p.
Thanks!
