Hi guys... and gals!!!
From overclocker to overclockers... LordMod kernel V5.5 CFS and V4.5.2 BFS
This is my first ever ROM and custom kernel for any device..
I tested it for a long time and I think that it's ready for the community..
I've only wanted to implement smartass because everybody (almost) wants it, but the project took me much further than I imagined.. I've lost 7 days on this so don't be harsh on commenting my work. I'm a BEGINNER in kernel building and ROM modding.
ROM is build from the latest commits of CM7
Kernel has been taken from “teamdesire” and modified a little to suit everybody!!
For those who care – Quadrant score is about 3400 on 1800MHz PERFOMANCE mod
I use BFQhs (ATM) PUV edition @ 122/1380MHz 24/7
Decided to update only the kernel... because ROM is basicaly CM7 nightly...
I'll include kernel update.zip with and without SD Card Read speed increase patch!
KERNEL (for CM7 only, apparently works great for MIUI):
Kali-'s kernel 2.6.32.28
Battery drain fix included - by teamdesire (allready implemented in CM7)
Chose default I/O scheduler
New Adreno 205 drivers like in nightly kernels
Kernel patched to 2.6.32.41
SMARTASS governor added and tweaked
CPU freq table totaly rewriten with lower voltages
OC up to 1990 MHz, min 122 MHz – DON'T GO OVER 1800MHz EXCEPT FOR SHOWOFF AT THE BAR I AM IN NO WAY RESPONSABLE FOR DHD SMOKING!!!
Volume boost 20%
SLQB slab memory allocator added
CFS (4.5.2) or BFS v400 (4.5.2) - difference for noobs
VDD user interface - usage
Patched libsqlite.so to disable db loops – thanx to ownhere
Under volt editions, UUV edition might not work for all.. use -25mV edition
Tiny RCU subsystem, Bloatware edition
Low level memory tweaks and fixes
Fixed some bugs regarding sleep/awake for video driver
Fixed first boot Wlan crash
Implemented 2 way recording patch by avs333 and skvalex - thread - only kernel 4.4.1 and now 5.1
Removed some debugging and statistic logging
GPU+ patch for better 2D and 3D perfomance (thanx -snq)
Disabled write cache support to enhance SD write speed
Updated drivers from HTC Saga and HTC Vivo - All glory and credits go to James Zdziebkowski for porting drivers
[*]Tweaked Interacive and Ondemand governor
[*]Added patches and fixes from latest CM7 kernel regarding Wlan chip, USB...
[*]Added USB accessory gadget support - patch from newest CM7 kernel
[*]Tweaks for video driver - patch from CM7 kernel (modified by me for Saga driver)
[*]Hopefully compatible with all AOSP ROMS for DHD - CM7 all bases, MIUI, UltimateDroid...
[*]Implemented USB thetering support - by James Zdziebkowski
"How to" for CM7 users:
Do a nandroid backup
Download desired zip from below
Copy to SD card
Go into recovery
Wipe cache partition
Wipe Dalvik cache
Flash from zip
Use 5.6 CFS or 4.5.2 BFS V400!
BEFORE flashing set your MIN freq to 230 or disable Set On Boot in Cyanogen Perfomance Menu!!!
V5.0 replaces some system libs for the video to work, so please do a BACKUP before flash if you want to return to other kernel!! - Use this if you want to restore to default libs, and than without restart flash kernel older than 4.5.2 - zip, older than 4.6 - zip
Scheduler flavours: BFQ I/O, BFQ I/O with hierarchical schedulling (only CFS), V(R) I/O
BFQhs V5.6 - CFS zip
VIO V5.6 - CFS zip
-25mV zip
-50mV zip
UUV zip
PUV zip - This is heavely UV even for UUV edition.. going from min 775mV trough all the freq range. If UUV worked for you, you must test this It's working fine for me 122/1380MHZ 24/7
Restore defaults zip
Restore defaults SCRIPT
If you want SD card speed patch, put this file into /etc/init.d folder and give it executable perrmision. It can corrupt your SD data! CAUTION - BACKUP
V5.5:
BFQhs V5.5 - CFS zip
VIO V5.5 - CFS zip

KERNEL V1.1 - MIRROR RS
KERNEL V1.0 - MIRROR RSTo have this kernel on MIUI, follow these simple steps from htctouchelfin!AGAIN - don't FORGET to do a nandroid backup prior to flashing!
No need for screen shots, because everybody knows how CM7 looks like.
Governors for NOOBS:
interactive - Instead of sampling the cpu at a specified rate, the governor will scale the cpu frequency up when coming out of idle. When the cpu comes out of idle, a timer is configured to fire within 1-2 ticks. If the cpu is 100% busy from exiting idle to when the timer fires then we assume the cpu is underpowered and ramp to MAX speed.
smartass - Is an improved version of interactive governor
ondemand – Available in most kernels, and the default governor in most kernels. When the CPU load reaches a certain point (see “up threshold” in Advanced Settings), ondemand will rapidly scale the CPU up to meet demand, then gradually scale the CPU down when it isn't needed.
conservative – Available in some kernels. It is similar to the ondemand governor, but will scale the CPU up more gradually to better fit demand. Conservative provides a less responsive experience than ondemand, but can save battery.
performance – Available in most kernels. It will keep the CPU running at the “max” set value at all times. This is a bit more efficient than simply setting “max” and “min” to the same value and using ondemand because the system will not waste resources scanning for CPU load.
powersave – Available in some kernels. It will keep the CPU running at the “min” set value at all times.
userspace – A method for controlling the CPU speed that isn't currently used by SetCPU. For best results, do not use the userspace governor.

Kernel is compiled from cyanogenmod so it can't be used in RCMIX or any other ROM than Cyanogenmod
I'll include only kernel in seperate update zip if anyone with CM7 wants to try only the kernel... later tonight or tomorrow
Now uploading ROM to another mirror

sup guys...
...lord clockan, thanks a bunch for this, i've been waiting for a crazy ass kernel like yours ;D....looking forward to flashing the kernel-only update.zip, since i'm using my own modified version of cm7....question: is it safe to use the device overclocked to 1.8ghz on a daily basis (nope, i don't want to risk smoking my phone using 1.9ghz all the time....;D)
keep it up, sir!

Please upload the kernel only as well...great work thx

Kernel.zip uploaded and updated in first post!

I'm intruiged, this will be the next ROM for me to flash

I'm on rc4 and do we just flash this with with recovery and thats it thanks

yes, you have "How to" in first post

Just wondering do u have anymore links to it like megaupload
It's ok its finally downloading my browser was messing up will report BK when its finished thank you
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA Premium App

I'll upload to hotfile in 20min... thats all I can do!
@279Paddy:
Well I saw people keeping at 1.8, but not perfomance mod... only for max setting, not all the time..
But at that freq the increase of voltage is 40% more than on 1000mhz, so expect less battery life offcourse

Great job man, it's cool to see all those hours of work come to frutition, huh i'll be using it personally, i'll test it and download. Once again, great job.
Semt from a puddle of Steve Job's tears

Thanx!!
Yep, finaly...
Now to try and implement some other stuff if I found something interesting..

Thanks! I was very curious if the roms from the desire hd thread would work on the inspire 4G without being tweaked to do so. Ironically I just downloaded this rom from the desire hd thread and was just about to flash to see for myself, but now I know it will.
Excellent
Some users reported audio issues, I have included the fix under addons

How is this ROM? Getting the itch
Great to see this ROM in the Inspire Forums!
I've been running 2.2.2 since March 5th from the Desire HD forums. Extremely stable. I dabble with the CM7 nightlies, but always come back to this ROM when I need my Inspire to last a full day with a fully operational camera.
Great stuff, Lee. Thanks again.
Just bought you some beers as thanks for coming to this forum.
Awsome and great to hear!
Thanks Jeremy

Desire HD >> to >> Inspire 4G Patch
The above patch will apply local info, device Id's & required audio files for the Inspire 4G, resolving any market, local and Audio issues
As mentioned in the op, I do recommend using CWM2 as you have access to an optional A2SD+ patch, unfortunately CWM3 struggles with SD ext partitions.. otherwise CWM3 should be fine
As far as radio versions go, I have just included the libril.so shipped with the 1.80.502.3 Inspire 4G build, the radio that shipped with said ROM, would be the reccomendation
I'm just curious..
Why does this rom include the 2.2.2 Kernel as opposed to the 2.2.4? (or whatever is the latest now)
I've been using the 2.2.4 kernel for about two weeks now and i've had unbelievable performance.

broodKernel v1.2
- Heavily tweaked KQI stock kernel -
Major changes since last release:
More management can be done trough init.d, I added a general broodKernel script and also a very extended screenstatescaling script with a lot of options (check them both out!) Also I made 3 versions of the kernel, they have different bootlogos, the other settings are identical
Info:
This kernel is based on the KQI stock kernel, and only has modifications in it's ramdisk, so the kernel will stay stock, but is heavily tweaked. I added Thunderbolt tweaks, GT-i8150 GPU Drivers, 2 init.d scripts (00broodkernel and 01screenstatescaling)
Features:
- Added Auto Mount
-- All partitions mounted in noatime / RW
-- Cache / Data & Persist mounted with barrier=0 / commit=60
- Added AOSP bootanimation library
- Added init.d Support (runs at the end of the boot process)
- Changed Kernel Security settings
-- ro.secure=0
-- ro.allow.mock.location=0
-- ro.debuggable=1
-- persist.service.adb.enable=1
- Adjusted Low Memory Killer
-- LMK 60MB Based
- Added build.prop Tweaks
-- Smoother GUI Tweak
-- Less Ringtone Delay
-- GPU Rendering
- Added IPv4 Tweaks
-- Changed Buffersizes
-- Tweaks in /sys/proc/net/core
-- Tweaks in /sys/proc/net/ipv4
- Added Touchscreen Tweaks
-- Sensitive touch
- Added Kernel Tweaks
- Added SD-Card Tweaks
- Added VM (writeout) Tweaks
- Added Zipalign
- Added Vacuum (sqlite_optimize)
- Added GT-i8150 GPU Drivers
- Added 00broodkernel in init.d:
-- Set I/O Scheduler
-- Set SDCard Readahead
-- Enable/Disable Error Reporting
-- Enable/Disable sysctl.conf file
- Added 01screenstatescaling in init.d:
-- Set Awake Governor & min/max freq
-- Set Sleep Governor & min/max freq
-- Enable/Disable Governor tweaks
-- Option to use 01screenstatescaling as the only cpu management source (disable init.qcom.post_boot.sh)

Your welcome!, you should try the test a few times, then you will get higher results probably btw, the screenshots i made from antutu are with a read_ahead of 3072, the kernel's default is 1024.
And it still says 2.6.35.7-perf [email protected]#1, and I won't be able to change that unless I have the source of the KQE kernel, which i don't have.. the only downloadable source code on the samsung site is the very first i9001 kernel (v1.0) whatever that may be.
ok Brood, how ?
do you change the read ahead ?
thx
eric

So far no kernels have worked on my ROM other than my own. I'm waiting to see the day it actually does. If you don't mind could you tell me if it was a black screen and only the LED's turned on if you touched them or just stuck on the samsung logo.
Thank you for this new Kernel!
For me, works great. Antutu was okay and now i test it for the next 24 hours. :good:

I'm still having the same problems as with the Kernel bundled with CM10 Alpha 7, a excessive RAM consumption with almost no RAM left, the low memory killer keeps terminating my Apps. Never had that issue on Kernel 2.6, I have no running bloatware if that matters. Just after a cold boot I have around 160MB free but after a few minutes I'm down to 5-10MB
Installed the normal version and it works perfectly on cm10 by ivendor (except the video recording at 720p).
I've tried all the new kernels and it seems that is the best!
Smooth, fast, without any lag! It remains to see how it goes with battery consumption.
Thanks biagio7xD!
any1 confirm this kernel working on 4.2.1

wiping cache & dalvik cache would help you. Also, take the battery out for 5-10 min then reinsert it. Revert then.:good:
v0.2 is up
I removed OC.
It's too unstable now. Some users always running 1.32 GHz although they set Max Freq to 1 GHz.

I was on vanilla rom when I flashed the kernel. When I wanted to go back I flashed the rom again. This worked for me.
Even though you removed ocing, freezing and stuttering is still there. This is caused by the cpu scaling mostly (only) between min and max. For example, Hill Climb Racing freezes a lot with default settings (interactive) but is just fine with performance. If you can, please have a look at the governors' parameters.

[KERNEL][Sense ICS] JMB-Kernel | Modded - r7.3 (3.0.84) | Stock - r1.0 (3.0.16) |

Hi dudes,
here are my 3 ICS kernel for our HTC Sensation/XE/4G.
It supports Sense 3.6, 4.0 and 4.1.
You want more stuff in the kernel?! Tell me.
Default Modded
Stock
Ultimate
The Default one, is a modded one, that includes several stuff. You can find what exactly is in, on the post. Its thought for daily use, and my favourit.
The Stock one, is a clean and overclocked Kernel from the HTC Source (3.33.401.154).
With it you can get the best battery.
The Ultimate, is the same kernel as the Default Modded, but it can be overclocked to 2,2Ghz. Its made for guys that want to experiment with their Sensation. I don't recommend to use it as daily driver. STILL IN BUILD
I'm not responsible for anything that happens.
Hit thanks if you like my work

Oc to 2.2ghz!!!! awesome
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using xda app-developers app
I'll be expecting a lot more from our device now. Great job!
cool, TripNRaVeR was working on a 2.2 Ghz overclock, but he ended up moving to the One X....that will be the last mod i use before i fry my device and move to something new
@BanB
Are you using the latest msm_mpdecision from show-p or not?
Nice to see one more kernel dev. Good job man.
I'll post review about graphics and battery life(I adore this). Great job. The link is on.

HI BanB, when will the 2.2 ghz be ready, i really want that version, because me hardware can handle 1944mhz for now.... Thanks for the new kernel
The 2.2 Ghz will come in a few weeks, school is busy
s2w doesn't work at least for me....
I wonder if anyone tried the 2.2ghz frequencies? I saw the TripNRaver project but I never tried it.
I'm assuming *not all* Sensations are able to handle this sort of frequencies in a stable manner?
Also, did you updated the voltage table with the frequency?
Thank's a lot for your work man! :good:

Hi BanB,
Would you be able to add the FauxSound Audio/Sound-TPA feature. Which is mentioned in the app description so the Fauxsound TPA will be compatible with this kernel.
Thanks,
DM

Can your phone OC to 1.944GHz at 1350mV? If you have to go higher than 1350mV then your phone isn't actually running at 1.944GHz because the voltage regulator refuses to enforce anything above 1350mV.
BTW, BanB, congrats on your first kernel release
EDIT: Meant to say 1400mV, not 1350mV

Sensation is not made for 2.2GHz. IIt will end with an overheating problem.
