[Q] Changing 3g frequency band - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

Hi all, I bought Motorola xt 720, and i realized that the 3g band was not as in my country.
In argentina we have 850 - 1900. my phone seems not support that.
I read its a hardware limitation, but i did not loose my faith and came with the experts
Do anyone know if changing 3g band is possible?
Thanks!

[Q] GSM, UMTS, 3g, and tmobile US question

Im thinking of buying an unlocked GSM phone (nokia e55) soon, but im confused by GSM and UMTS because ive never had a GSM phone before. heres what (i think) i know:
Dual band 3g: 900/2100 mhz, will work with tmobile US, but only on the 2100 mhz spectrum, means no roaming.
tri band 3g: 850/1900/2100 mhz, supports tmobile and at&t, the ideal type of GSM for US.
Quad band: not sure.
fortunately ive been able to find quite a few triband e55's, but i just want to make sure i dont buy a phone with no 3g (i would NOT be happy).
btw, tmobile is the carrier im looking to change to soon, so triband is what i think will suit me best. corrections welcome.

[Q] Antenna issue

having a problem with my antenna frequency on Inspire 4G. phone is bought from US, but doesn't have 3g in Europe. Is it possible to change the antenna frequency somehow??? The phone rooted, but obviously without the 3g its almost useless. someone help!!
Did you unlock it properly?

What Carrier in what country? EDIT: If its Elisa in Estonia and you purchased it from AT&T it won't work. You would have to swap out the cellular antenna inside the phone (which is not possible). AT&T and the Inspire's 3G operate on the 850/1900 MHz Band. Elisa's 3G in Estonia operates 900/2100 MHz Band. It psyically won't work. Sorry. Elisa does have the same technology just on a different band. The European Version of this phone is the Desire HD. I don't know if your carrier sells it.

[Q] info needed... 900mhz spectrum 2g 3g

Hello,
Im looking for some info... u see the story goes, i have a htc hd2 and recently managed to snap.the charging port by having it plugged in under my pillow overnight... so i brought a phone off ebay, its a cyberjam 3g... now it supports gsm 850 900 1800 1900 mhz and wcdma 2100 mhz
My carrier giffgaff (runs on o2 uk) has just introduced 3g on 900mhz... giffgaff also uses 2100mhz...
But does this now mean that i will b able to use 3g through the 900mhz that my phone recieves?
I havn't recieved my cyberjam yet and am still using my hd2 with an external battery charger and spare battery...
It was recently agreed by ofcom that o2 could use its same 900mhz longrange spectrum that originally supported 2g to broadcast a 3g signal...
*the things i think i know*
Whilst searching for a cheap replacement i made sure i brought a phone that supported 3g as i use my phones internet alot, and most cheap android devices didnt support 3g but worked with every uk carrier except three... on the gsm spectrum... i know three only has 2100mhz spectrum.
Does this now mean any device that supports 900mhz will recieve 3g with o2??
And finally, do wcdma 3g phones automatically support 3.5g (hsdpa)??
Thanks in advance for your help.

Sorry but no, there's nothing you can do to fix that.

Unlock unavailable bands on your smartphone, is it possibile?

Hello I'm reading around to check if it's possible to unlock unsupported officially bands on my smart-phone
(ex. I have a Cubot X9 that supports just the 3G W-CDMA 850Mhz and W-CDMA 2100Mhz and I need the 900Mhz W-CDMA band in my country)
The question is.
Is it really possible to unlock other band on the cellphone or it's an hardware limit? Is there somebody that technically could explain more about my question ?
Thanks for reading
