Do you get a public IPv6 address on tethering clients too?
This is only in the LTE areas not 3g unfortunately

I had the same problem in my house with my ATT U-verse wifi router when a couple friends came over with their iphone and laptops.
I think the U-Verse router has a maximum connexions.
Are you able to connect somewhere else? Have you checked the password for the encrypted WiFi connexion?
Using wifi for this reply. Definitely working.

It appears to me that gsm phones put out an ad hoc wifi tether and cdma phones emit a normal infrastructure wifi signal. Some devices like the kindle won't connect to an ad hoc network. Is my theory true and why?

My evo is cdma and does ad hoc.

After some research it seem like it depends on the chipset of the wifi on the phone. So it's not necessarily cdma vs gsm.

I just know if you use the built-in "3G mobile hotspot" in Cyanogen-mod they are infrastructure and if you use any other from market (like the very good barnacle), they send via ad-hoc.
My friends evo produces infrastructure as well as another friends droid 2 with the same exact tether apk file. But my captivate puts out ad hoc and I haven't found a barnacle release that works right with my phone yet.

When I goto upload a video file to Youtube, it says waiting for wifi.
My ATT HSPA data connection has a much faster upload than my DSL connection's upload. Is there any tweak or setting to disable this waiting for wifi junk?
HTC Aria

I want to be able to use the verizon fios mobile remote while I'm not at home. To use it, you have to be on the same wifi network as the tv. I want to mess with the tv while I'm not at home. Would there be any way to make my phone think I'm in the wifi network at home while I'm actually on mobile data?

You could probably setup a VPN to connect your phone to the home network from anywhere you have internet access

What would i need to setup a VPN?

Afaik if your router can run ddwrt you can setup openvpn on it. You would also need to install openvpn on your phone though which requires root

Yeah my phone is rooted, but how hard would it be to install openVPN on the router?

Click to collapse
Try to use static IP (advanced options when you want to join the WiFi network)
Really hate to ask, but you entered the right password? It's not weak, so it's not avoiding the connection.

I zee two networks with the same ssid. Do they both have the same key? Otherwise it will indeed be picky.
