Coming from an iPhone what are you guys using to take place of remote to control your itunes air play for MAC,macbook, and Apple tv?

I don't use my phone for any of that. If I needed a remote, I would use the remotes that came with said devices.

Using your (i)Phone as a remote allows you to utilize the keyboard on the phone to type in queries and searches, which is much quicker and easier than using a minimalistic Apple remote, actually.
"Remote for iTunes". Works perfect for me controlling my 1st gen aTV and iTunes on my macbook. Same kind of interface as the apple remote app. It's 4.99 but i think it was worth it. I use it everyday to control music playback on the home theater system from anywhere in the house (within wi-fi range at least)

I already have a Harmony One with the IR to BT receiver but I think it would be pretty awesome to control the menu/Blu-Rays with my N1.
It can't be that hard to develop. If you had a BT keyboard you can connect it to the PS3 and you can mimmick the controls with certain keyboard buttons. (I think, haven't personally tried it but the functionality should be there for EVERY buttion. So far I've just tried the arrows.)
If I knew a crap about developing I'd do it myself.
Do want!

Yeah, I would pay for this as well. Definitely $5-$10.
Anyone find anything that can do this? I think Google tv is coming out with something like this for Harmony remotes but its only for Google tv.
Does anyone know if its possible to set up your phone as a universal remote? For TV, Freeview box, Xbox navigation etc.
Cheers!

Hi,
Type "Remote control" in market search.
All sorts of things come up.
I don't think so. There are a few apps for some tv's and blu-ray players, but they work over wifi or bluetooth. Usual remotes work via infrared and the sensation has no infrared.
You'd have to get something like this: http://store.griffintechnology.com/tablet/beacon-android
It does not get super reviews at amazon ... but I am sure there are other devices out there like this.
Great technology: http://www.androidauthority.com/nvidia-miracast-tegra-3-support-103749/

Who knows. Please tell me, even if they did, what device supports it now that I can beam to my TV? I have a WiDi receiver that I got when I bought my laptop, but I know only Intel will support it.

You can use some DLNA and UPnP clients such as Twonky to stream from your android device to a Playstation 3. I currently don't have a Infinity so I can't test this, but it does work with my HTC Sensation. Since you are likely to be home to stream this, I just stream from my computer. But it can be done.
Ah, but not mirror the mobile screen?

DLNA is a content service. A device can be any of some combination, like I stream crap, I serve crap, I display crap, I control crap. So a movie stored on a DLNA device that can serve, can be sent to a DLNA device that knows how to play it, and you can even run the show from a DLNA device that knows how to control stuff.
Miracast can be more like HDMI out without the HDMI cable. Think WiFi Direct + VNC but using H.264.
It depends. Samsung, HTC, and Apple all make money by offering AllShare, Media Link, and AirPlay as proprietary standards which require device owners to buy their accessories. Miracast makes sense for Nexus devices so they offer similar capabilities. Asus could make more money by following Samsung, HTC, and Apple or they could go with a published standard and give their device owners more flexibility. Either way you'll be buying accessories from someone to make it work. And it'll take an awfully long time before you'll see devices natively equipped with Miracast to receive content. AirPlay hasn't been adopted in media devices and there are ten times more Apple devices supporting it than there will be Android devices supporting Miracast. Publishing a standard and seeing it widely adopted (on both ends) are two different things.
Signed, the owner of both a Samsung AllShare dongle and HTC Media Link HD dongle.
I've wondered.. would that be possible? I know that its possible to stream to an 1920x1080 monitor via MHL and i'm pretty sure i can somehow connect a mouse and a keyboard via bluetooth - or?
Which MHL Adapater and BT keyboard/mouse combo would you recommend? Does ANY BT keyboard/mouse combo work with our phone?

I have a microsoft wireless mobile mouse 3500 i dont know to sync
Hey bud,
I have a similair goal in mind and have begun gathering gear for my desktop replacement system lol. I have a monitor already. I just picked up the iHome bluetooth keyboard from my local store here. Dude, paired and connected in a snap. No extra work needed. All i do is turn bt on on the phone, turn the keyboard on and it immediattely defaults to the keyboard for text inpuut. I am in the process of researching how to remap the keys for optimized android functionality as this model is mapped out for iphone. but the media keys work well. volume up and down. pressing the play key automatically starts the media player and plays music. I am actually typing out this post on it right now in my car with my phone docked to my windshield lol. i love it. the arrow keys work in most apps to scroll through and select stuff. Now all i need is a mouse and mhl adapter. I gave up my pc when the hardrive croaked because my adroid phone does alll i need.
I started using android phones as a desktop replacement since i had my G2x. this phone is much easier to accomplish the task with. and with cloud storage we dont even need to use usbhost to latch on an external hardrive. Best of luck dude.

Logitech has a android specific keyboard. I think these have dedicated android keys for home, back and recent apps.

Is there an app that use infrared port to control the TV, Satellite, etc? I just want a remote function that I can use offline. I don't want any feature offered in Peel Smart app. Since the Note 10.1 have infrared port, I want an app that have nothing but remote function. Anyone?

WOW, 19 bucks for the regular app, and 49 bucks for the pro version, no thanks.
Edit-They even want 4 bucks just for a 30 day license, geez, is that developer crazy or what? It's a remote app, not Office! I'll stick with my free Peel App thank you very much
The pro version is rarely required. But the support is excellent, they integrated special devices (optoma beamer, German Telekom IP-TV receiver) from the logitech smart remote control files within a day...
Such an app requires constant maintainance and there are not so much users, so the price is in my eyes ok.
