Rooted! 1.7 Kernal installed. Phone occasionally wont turn on! - Thunderbolt General

I haven't installed Perfect Storm or Sense etc... but I have added Thunderbolt 1700 v2. The phone works fine but occasionally will not turn on. I have to remove the battery to reboot and it will turn on.
Do I have it set to high. I have it low when the screen is off 230 - 537, 50 priority.
temperature 230 - 537, priority 70, charging a/c 230 - 844, priority 65, and battery 230-537 priority 65, ALL on demand. Scaling on demand is 1766 max and 230 min and they are all on set on boot. I honestly have no clue what the priority does or should be set to.
any suggestions or input would be appreciated.
Also...suggestions about installing something like A Perfect Storm or Sense or any others??? I don't play games almost ever. and I don't care for fancy backgrounds at this point.

ASUS P320 Running Windows 6.5.1 - Overclocking leads to battery drain

I have an ASUS P320, Running Windows 6.5.1.
(From here http://winmo.forumpro.eu/p320-f5/build-23085-chome-wwe-t71.htm)
Now I over-clocked the system with OMAPCLOCK - and was running it with 240 MHZ. The Wikipedia site is stating that the processor clock is 200 MHZ.
This Overclocking leads to battery drain - last night at 7:30 P.M it was at 63% - and today morning 9:00 a.m. I saw it was shutdown, that is out of battery. 2:00 A.M in the morning I went to sleep - it was not shutdown then - that means there should be 5% or so battery left then even more.
Any clue - O great Gurus? I set the clock frequency 204 MHZ now. Can you please tell me how to avoid battery drain - minimally with over-clocking?
Thanks a lot and anticipating reply.
nmondal, you should think twice before you start to overclock your OMAP. It is highly integrated processor and it will not work well if overclocked anyway. Sure the behaviour of you phone in overclock mode highly depends upon the revision of the CPU.
But I wanna tell you that 6.5 spoils the battery on your device much faster even without overclocking.
Besides - in some cases overclocking of your phone can cause non-working WiFi and even telephone module.
Another important thing - the OMAPCLOCK does not show the CPU frequency on your phone correctly - check the default meaning - is it 200? I suppose it's something like 186. So if you still want to overclock it - put 204 and it will be around 6-10% performance increase.
But as I told already - think twice before you do that.
Thanks folks
After I made the frequency to 204 MHZ - everything is fine.
Thanks for all the information - next time if I face any issues - I would refrain from overclocking. And yes - the default is 186 MHZ.

SetCPU advice

Probably an easy question. I want to save settings. Would these settings make sense.
Sleep/standby - 245 Max/245 low. I assume this keeps processor at lowest levels...
Power < 100% - I pick battery lvl obviously, but if i went 745 max/245 min. Any downside to that? Outside of the loss of some speed.
If you have a more optimal set-up. Please pass on the advice!
-thanks
I have always 245 min 576 max
We dont really use the 1ghz hehe
I keep getting force closings when trying to run the app and then it tells me I'm not rooted. Also says something about superuser access. What the hell?

My phone's been running for 16 hours and 20 minutes on one charge, and the battery is at 59%. Not entirely sure if this is impressive or not, but I figured I'd share my settings. I'm on CM7 Nightly from the 13th.

Very good info. I been holding off for to battery life. I might have to go visit the store tomorrow.

I like the SetCPU settings, I have never messed with the profiles before but that looks like a good idea.
I will see how this goes first then maybe try JD.
Over night my phone finally got down to 1%. Topped out at 31 hours 20 minutes or so.

I'm monitoring with Current Widget and i'm noticing that my phone is deep sleeping and pulling down to as low as 1mA sometimes! I usually get about 24hrs or so, but I just applied some different setcpu profiles.
I also use Tasker to shut off mobile data in the middle of the night, then turn back on in the morning. I think it's pointless to leave it on and waste battery life while I'm sleeping.
Im going to try out Juice Defender. I had itw ith my Aria and it does work very well at saving battery life BUT on that phone it would cause some lag when switching networks on/off etc. On this phone hopefully it's fast enough to not notice the lagginess when switching networks.
I just did some major testing of the inspire power draw, and you guys are lucky. Compared to my nexus one, it is super efficient. The highest with screen on and pushing the phone hard, current would max at 400mA at max brightness. At 50% brightness current was steady at 230mA no matter what.
In comparison, my nexus one spikes to 700mA when showing white web pages, and around 180mA showing black. These spikes aren't good and no wonder nexus gets crap battery life.
I can see why they under spec the inspire battery, but I wish they didn't.
I'm going to try out your settings for a few days and see how it goes. Thanks.
Would you mind sharing the link for the juice defender. I've downloaded the newest beta and it says it cannot disable the cellular radio because it is not fully supported. Note I did flash it using the kernel with the battery fix posted on the forums. Do you think that could be the problem?
I just use SetCPU profiles and JuiceDefender in default mode. Immediate difference in battery life.
For testing purposes of CM7, I would leave my phone off the charger to see if the battery fix was working. Normally it would drop 15-20 percent sometimes more. With the SetCPU and Juice Defender, Just dropped 8 percent. WOOT!

In order to get the latest beta, you have to register on the forum to be part of the beta group.
I'm on Revolution 3.3. The current widget doesn't work. It doens't show anything. Any ideas?

[Q] Rooted Thunderbolt Locking Up...

I just rooted by buddy TB and from time to time it lock's up on me. I read that I should stop using my task-killing app (Andrio Boost -Android Optimizer) and wait see if it happens again.
I have been removing the battery in order to unlock the phone. Has anyone else exprience this same issue...help?
What ROM are you running? Sounds like it's time to wipe via clockworkmod and start fresh.
Could be an issue with your kernel speeds or undervolting as well. If your lower clock levels are too low or your upper levels don't get enough voltage you could experience crashes.
I am currently using "Stock Rom" and this happen after watching a movie and listening to music.
These are my current SetCPU settings:
Overall 1024 max 245 min
Profiles
In call - 768 max / 245 min
Batt <25% - 768 max / 245 min
Temp >50.0 - 368 max / 245 min
Screen Off - 245 max / 245 min
Charging - 1024 max / 1024 min
Battey <10% - 245 max / 245 min
Thank you advance!

Try changing some of your min settings to a bit higher, like 368, to see if it fixes the issue. Also, are you using a kernel that supports speedtweak.sh such as Imoseyons? I believe these kernels need to have a setting changed in the speedtweak.sh to allow the use of SetCPU.
On a side note, you may wana check that Charging profile you have as well. That will be one toasty phone if you have it charging and the CPU maxed at the same time.
Thanks! Please see my SetCPU settings; are they close to being correct?
They arent bad you just need to make sure that you have the correct logic there when it comes to the level of importance of each setting.
For example this is how i would list the importance:
Temp >50.0 - 368 max / 245 min - 100
Battery <10% - 245 max / 245 min - 90
Battery <25% - 768 max / 245 min - 80
In call - 768 max / 245 min - 70
Charging - 1024 max / 1024 min - 60
Screen Off - 245 max / 245 min - 50
This way you have the temperature profile as the most important so regardless of what is going on, such as charging, the phone will lower the processor speed to account for dangerous temperatures. You need to have the battery profiles in this order as well because if the Battery < 25% has a higher importance than the Battery < 10% then it will never get to the Battery < 10% profile, it will always hit the Battery < 25% profile first, test as true, and you wont ramp down your phone as much as you wanted to in order to save battery.
Roger!! I did not pay attention to the order of the profiles. Thank you, this makes sense.
Should I still freeze my task killing application?

Automatic task-killers are redundant in Android 2.2 and higher so you can go ahead and get rid of them.
Your profiles look good but go ahead and drop the Battery < 10% importance down to like 99 or something because you dont want to have two profiles at 100. It could cause issues.

Roger that! Thanks.

[Q] Suggestions for MIUI battery life

I love these ports but battery life has been poor to average at best with normal use. (8-10 on MikeyMikes about 11-13 on Boosts respectively ) Here are all adjustments so far
- running at 100-1.2mhz on conservative
- UV at -100 across the board
- underclocked at 800 when screens off, in call , and less then 50%
- Thunderbolt scripts added
- auto brightness and power saver mode turned off, set at about 20%, Black wallpaper
- Background sync, Google backup, and email sync turned off
Anymore suggestions that have worked out for other users?
You're doing all the right things.
You could try undervolting a little more I can get mine to about -220mV across the board)
You can try disabling notifications in Market
You can try disabling notifications in calendar
If you use beautiful widgets or something similar you can adjust the refresh rate of the weather
Make sure notifications for facebook and twitter are off
That's all I can think of off the top of my head

I am also running boosted MIUI,
~running 100-1200mhz conservative and 100-800mhz conservative when screen is off.
~I only undervolted -50mv @ 100mhz, -50mv @ 200mhz, -25mv @ 400mhz, and -25mv @ 800mhz.
~NO thunderbolt script added, it says on the boosted MIUI that it already has battery performance tweaks
~I have background sync, Google and email and Facebook all set to the longest interval to sync
~automatic brightness enabled
~never really use WIFI, never use GPS (I cant even get a lock anyway, accurate to 2000 meters does me no good, haha)
Under normal use (texting throughout the day, playing games for 30 min to an hour, and browsing the internet for an hour or two, and maybe a few short phone calls) I can easily get 18 hours.
I have gotten 48 hours out of the phone, but the screen was off most of the time and I only text messaged during that time.
Under heavy use (playing GTA or watching movies) I get about 8 hours or so.
Have you tried draining the battery completely and then letting it do a full charge?
Before "boosted MIUI" I could barely get half a day out of the phone... it's nice only charging the phone every other day, and not having to carry a charger wherever I go. Boosted has by far, given me the best battery life.
Also... what kernel and modem are you running?
I'm using CWM Community Kernel, and UCKL2 modem, I do believe the modem has something to do with battery life... and how long it takes to charge... I think... it seems to me it charges fastest with the UCKL2 modem... I have tried every other modem.
