Vynil Skin for Omnia 7 - Omnia 7 Accessories

Found a great website for skins http://www.gelaskins.com/store/skins/phones/Samsung_Omnia_7
Theres alot of pre set artistic skins and if you cant find what you like you can create your own custom one on the website
I live in Ireland and it took two weeks to get it from the USA. Though you can opt in for express delivery that costs more
The skin is very nice and HQ. Solves the lack of grip on the handset and protects from scratches So pretty happy that i can ditch my sillicon case that adds on thickness

Awesome mate! where'd you get it?

Address above www.gelaskins.com

These look great , can you describe how they fit please ? (can't work out exactly what they are)
Cheers

They come on a sheet of vynil with
Like a template. Its like applying a screen protector for the rest of the phone. It takes a bit to get right
Just dont push it down as soon as you apply the vynil cause you will need to take it off and reapply to make it straight and stretch to cover up all the places correctly (i can guarantee that) Took me 5 mins and i was taking it easy

Sounds great . I bought a slightly slidy case like another in this forum which is good but this sounds much better . As long as it helps with the grip issue

Yeah since it doesnt increase the size of the phone dramatically like a plastic case would

Aye that's the attraction for me , ordered the "mod" one

I hate plastic cases, they make a high end phone look cheap, I always get gelaskins for my devices. This is mine:

Mine arrived today , will fit it later on or tomorrow

FANTASTIC! I want order immediately two.

@evolutionqy7
your gelaskins provides a screen protector or front cover should be mounted over my current screen protector?

No screen protector
Id say just put it over the actual skin

My screen protector covers the whole face of the phone, so I put the skin over it.

Could you please link this Xbox case? I can not find it on their homepage

I made it myself. Just found an Xbox Logo on bing and moved it into their custom skin wrapping app on the website Its easy wasnt a fan of the skins they had.

Thanks alot, I´ll try it

My new skin from gelaskins... made by myself

That looks so cool I need to get me one of those Eboy ones

I order one yesterday.
But i have a question, if you put a screen protector and the this skin, the butons responde good???
2 plastic over the butons maybe are excesive, ¿?
Other method is cut the screen protector and adjust to fit with the screen, i will try it

Any cases out there slimmer and better looking than barely there case mate ones??

As per subject really.
I've currently got a gel type case, does the job as it should, but you only realise how much bigger it makes the phone look when you take it off (!)
The only 'slim' case I've seen is the barely there (in my opinion it is clearly there!).
I know the iphone 3Gs has an extremly slim, transparent case, that covers all for edges of the phone. Now that one is a true 'barely there' case!
Anything similar out there for the Deisre?
AFAIK there's nothing slimmer than the "barely there".
I ordered an ebay (way cheaper) version of the Barely There because it looked great and also have a sick design.
A lot a members said it's thin and dope (yes, the case is on... even if you can't really see it, hence the name ).
It even comes with an extra screen protector so you don't have to worry about screen scratches.

Yep, I've seen these on eBay too, I wasn't overly concerned about getting it cheaper but more for the points I described in my original post- i.e something that covers all four edges (with cut outs) and it needs to be transparent.
Please be careful with the cheap ebay ones. Bought one for my girlfriends blackberry, but the dye used to colour the case rubbed off on her hand and face, and eventually permanently stained her phone.
Cheap cases are rarely worth it.

I too was in the same situation as you. Had a gel case but still wanted the phone to be slimmer.
So I bought one of these. The full body one:
http://www.bestskinsever.com/htc-desire-skin
It's very good and can put it in my pocket and not worry and not be bothered about putting it down on hard surfaces too. The only thing is doesn't offer is protection from being dropped.
Phil
Ok, so received all of them yesterday and they're great.
Unlike what wnp_79, there's no problem with them, no dye, really great touch feeling.
I won't pay 15 or 20 euros, from companies who are buying then same stuff from HK and then selling it back 10 times higher.
I paied 6 euros for 2 cases and they're great
Hard slim case + 1x screen protector:

I think it because of the two tone of the Desire (light grey on top and dark grey on the bottom) that makes the 'barely there' cases stand out a bit too much.
I suppose if there was transparent one available, I'd give it a go.
EDIT: Oh this seems promising:

Usable armband?

Could anyone suggest subject?

Friend of mine ordered the smaller version of the tunebelt and he's ecstatic over it. He's been through a couple too.
My wife loves her tunebelt, not too expensive on amazon either.

Thanks for reply guys!
I was looking at the same model.
AlgorithmX, because you have it, could you comment on quality and usability. I need this thing mostly for sports. It's kind of difficult to judge on picture. Does touch still works through that plastic? How it holds moisture? And how good is velcro?
I posted in the Vibrant and i9000 forums, but I got the larger version of the Tune Belt. It fits with my phone still inside it's TPU case which is what I was looking for. I think the smaller version would be too tight if you want to keep it in your case.
If you have above average sized biceps, you will need the extension as the band is one of the shorter ones I've seen, but luckily the extension is very cheap and works well.
Here are some pics.

No hole for a headphones cord?
And how do I know what is bigger/smaller version? I have only thin silicone on my phone and do not want to take it off every time.

The headphone cord comes out of the flap at the top. I can take a picture later, but it's the same open you slide the phone into, so there's plenty of room.
The model numbers tell you if it's the smaller one or larger one. As you can see in my pics, my phone has a TPU case on it and fits very well inside the armband.
AB82 = Smaller
AB83 = Larger
Finally got my paws on it and used it for a while.
IMHO, this armband is useless for sports. It is like a sponge!
I got bigger version and it fits the phone in the silicon case. However seams inside do not allow plastic to touch the screen, so it's pretty difficult to control phone on the run.

I'm assuming you're talking about the TuneBelt right? If so, it's neoprene. While it may "retain" sweat/moisture, it shouldn't absorb it, neoprene is basically sweat proof. It "retains" some of it temporarily, because the material is breathable (which you definitely want) I have the smaller ab82 that I used with my Touch Pro, and I can tell you from using it at the gym a bunch, if you check it a few hours later, it should be bone dry again as the sweat evaporates out of it, doesn't leave it gross or smelly, etc. Wetsuits are made out of the same material for this sorta reason.
As for the seams on the screen.. ya it looked that way in the pictures above. Still, looks to be the only good solution out currently for phones as big as ours.

DIY Carbon Case

I guys,
For the almighty sum of about £6 ($9.50) I put together myself this case, which for the price I think looks pretty neat, and shows you dont need to spend mega bucks to get stylish protection (however i have just order carbon chromatics skin from phantomskinz )
The products i used were as follows:
1.) Armour Case UK LINK US LINK
2.) 3m Carbon Di-Noc Wrap UK LINK US LINK
3.) A little bit of patience! It took me roughly 1 and a half hours of applying, particularly stretching round the edges in order to get a smooth finish, all it needs however is some heat from a hair dryer to get it round, but it is straight forward even for someone like me who has had no experience with the 3m Di-Noc products.
Hope people find this useful, as personally i think it looks great ,especially for the price!
Thanks
(apologies for webcam photos!!)

Sweet! Totally gonna do this.
Very good work!
Thanks for the feedback guys, i'm happy to do a tutorial if the demand exists as i appreciate some parts were quite fiddly and it did take me several attempts and 3 pieces of wrap!
That would be appreciated. I just ordered a piece of the CF stuff & while I'm pretty good with stuff like this, tips are always welcome.
This is cheaper, had one for my Nexus S.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Black-Carbon-Fiber-Case-Cover-HTC-Sensation-G14-/230668774526
That case doesn't protect the front edge of the phone! When you drop it, its a 50:50 chance that its going to land on either the back or the front, no point just having one side protected, surely?! At least with the one i linked the screen is protected by few mm around the edge and They come with free screen protector
Oh and another point, where's the fun in just buying that!? Its all about adding your own touch to these sorts of things!!
looks amazing. it would be better for me to replace only plastic pieces( leave aluminium piece). anyway it looks good.
Another tip on how to put the CF on clean around the edges is to use a lighter. Just run it across the material a few times then stretch and push

Really?! Wont that just melt the CF? I just held the hair dryer to it, till it was soft then it was a lot easier to manipulate around the edges!
Also guys maybe thinking of making a few then possibly selling, what are your thoughts?
Thanks!

I'm not really sure man, apart from a few people, no one really seems to be interested! Would have to work how many to make, how much bulk buy discount i could get etc. If say 5-10 people were interested i would definitely be interested, but there's also the issue of the majority of you guys living in the US, which adds postage etc doesn't seem completely worth given (as linked you can get similar for $5 posted.
Also do i need special permission if i were to sell products through here?
I'm interested....I guess make a thread in the marketplace as well. Might boost more people.

Custom Holster For Honor X2 and TPU Case

Heres my latest creation with a thift store find (I don't know what the black thing was made for but it was almost the same size as the phone and it was $.78), a needle and thread, and a laptop bag strap to make the holster. I'm going to stetch one more piece at bottom on both sides.

Looks nicely done! I will usually carry mine in a waist pouch but that's obviously only viable during the weekends. Fortunately the X2 still fits in my pant's back pocket (when I'm walking) and the front pocket (when I needed to sit down).

HAHAHA Good One!!! X2 Jokes
I bought one of these:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00Q7MFAKU?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00
Its a bit of a tight fit when you first get it, but it really only needs an extra millimeter or two of width to make it perfect. I took mine to my local shoe repair guy who stretched it for me, and now it's perfect! It's a great case too. The fact that it can swivel and come off the belt clip has turned out to be really important since the phone is so big.

Well, It's pretty tight, but it loosens up with use, and you could probably get a tpu on in it if you stretch it a bit more.

I'll give it a shot. I like having backups for everything in my arsenal for the phone just incase something breaks. I bought a lcd screen and keeping it on the shelf in the event I break it. $56.00 dollars for it on aliexpress, you can't go wrong for the phone for that price. I'd rather fix it myself, then send it back to china and wait 2-3 months or get it back at all.

Psst - Hey skin manufacturers, a little suggestion?

Since nobody is pushing product into our "protection that doesn't disable significant device features" space, here's a freebie for ya. When making skins, how about an option to have a nice cutout for the wireless modules to to chatter through? This way we can have a majority of the back protected (and less slippery/fingerprinty) AND use our gimmicky, ultra-low-quality, mostly garbage but still rather expensive snap-on modules?
For my own use, I took a PhantomSkinz screen protector and hacked about 1/6th of it off with a box cutter...but surely a pro could make something more elegant and have something worth selling?
Disclaimer: In case you need a little guidance...I recommend cutting the film BEFORE installation. Do not take a razor blade to the back of your phone. This is why you can't have nice things.

You so funny guy.
I just gave up and put a case on it.
I only used the 360 a couple times any way....
Some of us (me included) had no issues using the 360 camera with either the dbrand or Sopiguard skins. Can't say that'll hold true for future mods.
I ended up just tracing the 360 camera and taking an exacto knife to it.
Looks pretty dumb.
I have a sopiguard one and it was fine at first with the 360 camera. Now it only works about 25% of the time, without it me having to fidget with it to recognize.
That's no worst than the Tudia case with cutouts specifically for the 360 camera mod...
I made a small incision to my body skin and now have the 360 camera working. I'll probably buy a few more to experiment but the wireless data transfer looks like it happens between the two pins so you might not need such a large hole.
I think they should be removable because cutting the lines will ruin that sweet sweet uniform look. Of course it's not possible on those sticker protectors but protective cases could be different thing. Some kind of locking mechanism to that extra piece would rise the price of the case yes, but if you're buying this phone and want to use those accessories - still wanting the protection - you'd be ready to pay from it. Maybe Essential itself could take on this "problem".

The mechanism could just be the pins themselves. A removable back piece that connects directly to those pins would be clutch. I think that's a really great idea.

What skin is that? Looking for a simple clear skin for the back so the phone doesn't slip-n-slide off every surface.

It's from Skinomi and part of the kit that has the screen protector and body protectors. It definitely helps in terms of grip.
