Help please - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

A few days ago I updated my LG P500 to 2.2.2, and of course I lost the root access. I tried to downgrade to 2.2, but when I try to open the KDZ flasher, I get the next error: "MOD UpTestEX MFC Application has stopped working". I have the LG drivers installed. Can anyone help me?

You should use this for rooting:
[ROOT] Super One Click - works with every ROM version (2.2.1 & above also supported)

From what I know, 2.2.2 can not be rooted. Anyway, when I try to root using SuperOneClick (running android version 2.2.2 on LG Optimus One) it gets stuck on "running psneuter". And I was trying to downgrade to 2.2 using KDZ Flasher and got the error I mentioned. What am I doing wrong?

same problem here with my optimus l7

Rooting is not working
This method is not working for my Optimus net.
I also tried gingerbreak separately, and even the new zergrush methods in superoneclick.
I even tried with full factory reset just in case.
Can you confirm which android version it worked with?
Mine is 2.3.3

Hey sacredash,
can you guide me step by step?
i've rechecked and mine is android 2.3.4, kernel 2.6.35.10-perf+, build GRJ22 AND software version V10b-Sep-06-2011.
1. do i need to factory reset before rooting?
2. the step "echo 1>...." does nothing because there is no write permission to the /data directory. what do i do?
3. the driver installation - i have installed LG suite and its drivers. should i uninstall and install some other ADB drivers instead?

sacredash - cant u help other rooting this phone if u r claiming u have rooted ur unit... cant u provide a video....pls

How i did it:
0. disabled driver signing in my Win7 home ultimate.
1. downloaded and installed latest drivers from LG site. connected phone , enabled USB debug and allowed driver installation complete.
2. DID NOT FACTORY RESET ..saved me trouble. But did copy contents of SDcard to my computer just in case.
3. disabled the USB storage, re-enabled USB debug.
4. Opened cmd iin admin mode, just in case. ran the echo command. Note that /data/local/lge_adb.conf should be straight, without any spaces. there should be space bet'n echo, 1, > and /data..
5. rebooted
6. Downloaded and ran SuperOneClickv2.2-ShortFuse with gingerbreak exploit. (latest version). The process pauses/hangs at step 5. quickly disable and re-enable USB debug at this point of time. The rooting then proceeds smoothly.
Then you are informed that you have root.
7. reboot, connect wifi etc and update the SU app as it requests you.
Youre Done!!!

Not even one ROM found .
Found One
I found one ROM and well this one works.
http://www.androidworld.it/forum/lg-optimus-net-p690-187/%5Brom%5D-dardroidxd_0-1-lostfk-33044/
It has a custom kernel with clock speed upto 921Mhz,nothing fancy but its cool. This site is in Italian so use a translator(Use Chrome). I found that only this site has some P690 roms. They are already porting Cyanogen. Keep an eye on this site.

[Q] Need a hand with root...

Hey dudes, thanks in advance for reading.
Having a tough time rooting this thing - B90; stock ICS 4.0.3; build 9.2.1.17
I've tried viperMOD (although the version 4.5 download link is broken so tried the old version) - no results
I've tried nachoroot (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1427838) and end up with this error:
failed on '/data/sensors/AMI304_config.ini' - Permission denied
link failed File exists
/data/local/nachoroot.bin: break: cannot break
I've tried rolling the firmware back via )http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1417006) but when I try and enter recovery, I get the gears for a couple seconds then the dead android.
I have the Asus Sync software installed (not running while doing any of this, nor the stupid Splashtop streamer which won't uninstall) for the drivers.
Has anybody had any luck rooting the later models? I can't be SOL, I want to like this thing but the stock android is crippling the user experience. Any help or relevant links would be greatly appreciated!
The latest ver of ViperMOD Prime worked for me...and very easily. Exactly what happened with your attempt to use ViperMOD Prime root?
---------- Post added at 12:20 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:13 PM ----------
btw...viperboy has a website:
http://vipermod.tiamat-dev.com/
you can get the curr ver there.
Just ran viperMod again, option 1 (I only have 3 choices, root, unroot, exit). This should be viperMod 4.1.
The script finished and rebooted twice just like the nachoroot procedure. After the second reboot I get uid=2000<shell> gid=2000<shell>, ....
These two entries should be zero, no?
Does anybody have a copy of the viperMod 4.5?
Here you can get the latest version of ViperMod (use option 1)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=25036158&postcount=21
genius! it works.
thank you sir for finding the file and thanks to viperboy for the script. on to flashing.
Have problem two!
Im on 8.6.6.23 and in settings are no update avalible, where i get this?
But my greater problem is i get no root... with all listen mods in threat, also vipermod 4.5.
Can anybody help pls

Well there's no time to waste telling you; "you shouldn't have done this and that" so...
Have you done a recent backup using NANDroid?
---------- Post added at 10:30 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:28 PM ----------
If you don't have any valuable applications or contacts stored then by all means go ahead and re-flash a custom ROM using Clockworkmod Recovery.
