Hey guys...I'm trying to put my x10 mini pro from android 2.1 to 2.2...
but every tutorial i try to follow it simply doesn't work...i cant manage to enter in xrecovery mode by pressing back button...
Can anyone help me upgrading my phone? by sending a detailed guide to where do i need to put all the files, from beginning to the end?
if there is an existing guide, where do i find it?

1)you should install cmwrecovery

with this app you can easily install it
2)check if it is installed properly by pressing the back button when se logo apperar
3)download the ROM you want
4)put it on sd card and simply boot into recovery (by pressing back button) and follow the steps that are given in the custom rom thread
and DONE!!
P.S-your baseband should be the same as per the requirment of the rom otherwise you will face bootloop

Has anyone tried the MiniCM7 Pro - V15? Ok it works stable and fast?
My friend tried it. It works great. For the other issue of not being able to flash is cause of mismatch in radio version. Upgrade radio first using semc upgrade tool. Then follow the listed procedure.

i have tryied :-
gingerbreak.apk
1 click
Doomlord (got ADB drivers working no probs)
and followed the guide on xda with cwm.zip and busyboxinstaller.zip
and a few other .zip updates
with no luck
rooted last phone no problem...(with help fro XDA):good:
so im guesing i need to break out odin but i get overload when it comes to the right download(dont want a doorstop)

downloaded CF-ROOT frm h-t-t-p://download.chainfire.eu/55/CF-Root/SGS2/CF-Root-SGS2_XW_INU_KL1-v5.0-CWM5.zip
Extracted .tar and used ODIN (pda) to flash it .... easy !!!
this gives the CWM app which because i already had superuser installed from previous attempts was a bit glitchy but after a few mins and opening superuser root access was granted to CWM and app and it is now working fine
I believe its now rooted :victory:

first i tried SGS2SIMUnlockCode-v1.0.apk (Gooogle for it ...i did..) no luck... reported code not found

It worked a treat redialed *#simlock# and hey presto no network lock, also gives a EFS back up (handy)

Phone is working fine and has had full/good signal all day
As for all the previous attempts to root phone i now believe that i maybe did not have the drivers setup correctly..!
I did download ADB drivers for my phone but i also installed KIES
I noticed that although I had the Android phone /w ADB interface in device manager
I am NOT sure if I had the Samsung USB composite device (thingy) as well... this i have read about in another thread
So while in ADB mode i was unable to gain access to the SD card or internal volume ..???
and most of the failures were reported as write errors or the programs just hung
This is just an after thought but maybe the reason I had so much trouble
I can no longer check this theory as it has now gone back to my friend
so if you are doing as I did check this out and it might be alot easier than it was for me :good:
This maybe completely wrong also..??? someone might comment who has had success were I failed.?

Actually I dont even remember what I exactly did.
But from what i remember from last night ,,
here's what i think ive done
1. I downloaded FRAMAROOT,, tried boromir and faramir .... got "Failed try another exploit if available" then tried barahir and I succeeded
From here its all a blur
2. I downloaded root checker from google play store and checked if my device is rooted and it gave me an yes
3.Then as i found on internet, i went to install cmw or twrp .... i downloaded mobile uncle app .... went for recovery update in it .... but there were lot of recover files in remote .... didnt know which one to select .... selected which was on the top,, but then again i went on internet and as guided by someone .... i downloaded his "recovery.img" and i booted with that i guess
4.As i switched my phone on .... doesnt matter how hard i try .... my sim isnt getting detected!!
Internet is working fine cause of wi-fi actually everything is working like charm except my sim!!
5. The only thing i did was uninstall some of the preinstalled useless apps since i cant even make a phone call now!!
can someone please pleaseeeeeeeeeeeee help me!!
I'm in like desperate need of help and its fine even if someone can guide me to get my old phone back
As i mentioned earlier,, I just started lastnight .... im a super beginner and I only understand english and not "tech"

I just bought the LYF Wind 1 Smartphone and couldn't find a proper way to root it, so I made up my weird way, which works perfectly fine and I'm sharing it with you guys..
Steps :-
Download Wind1Root.zip (mod edit: Please use the blue download button and not the green one.)
Extract it
Enable USB Debugging and connect the phone
Run unlock.bat
Enable USB Debugging again after reset
Run root.bat
UPDATE - Recovery replaced. Touch works now. Using Redmi 2 Recovery.

i have unlocked bootloader.....and when i execute root.bat my lyf wind 1 shows twrp but in cmd it shows no device error....i have installed fastboot and adb

I tried installing Supersu-me and Superuser from playstore but none worked.

This worked well on my Lyf Wind 1 well. Not it is rooted with SU, But when i boot into recovery mode the TWRP has a bug and it shows only a blur screen after swipe to unlock. I need to power of and on again...

That thing is working on that build number, I can personally confirm that, and as far as I know, it doesn't depend on that either. Check that fastboot is working properly

Which phone's recovery did you use? I want to port the rom for wind 1
@ Akash : Thanks for your input. Would you kind enough to post a link to fastboot , as ugeeky hosting sever is down. and I dont think the fastboot that I have is working properly. My Laptop is running Windows 10 Insider Preview 10.0.14393 64 bit . I hope it is not a problem .

this is not working when i start root.bat it stucks up with a blur black screen and nothing happens I had to power off the device and power it back on. but the root did not happen, pls inform me what is the problem.
LeHarkunwar, A Big Thank You for coming up with the Root !! Have got rid of a lot of crap ware and unwanted stuff.
However, the points raised by "Java Baba" and "davinashgandi" deserve some attention. There has to be a tutorial/instructions for flashing stock firmware and stock recovery in the event that things go a little awry. A link to stock firmware and stock recovery with instructions for flashing the same is necessary and would decorate this wonderful work of yours.
Secondly, the twrp recovery is not at all functional when booted into. In such a case, applying incremental updates ( This Morning there is a new 37 MB update available) can soft brick the device.
The Wind 1 community will really appreciate if you can do something about this.

Stock firmware is not modified by this method, and there's no way to backup the stock recovery until we get the factory firmware, for installing any zips to the system, you can always replace the update.zip with the file you want to flash( remember to rename the file you want to flash as update.zip) in the files folder and then run the root.bat file.
Thanks Aakash. Yes, I'm aware that this method doesn't modify stock firmware. The suggestion was made so that people with soft bricked device would be able to revert to stock firmware if anything went wrong.
As for recovery, I managed to download the stock firmware and extracted the stock recovery. I also successfully flashed the stock recovery over twrp. However, the 37 Mb update was aborted due to some mismatch. No idea how to get around this with stock recovery. Yes, it's possible over twrp like you said but I would prefer to apply it through stock recovery.
If only we had a functional custom recovery, things would be even better.

Please ensure that you have properly installed drivers for LYF Wind 1. To check this, enable USB-Debugging and connect your LYF Wind 1 to PC. You will also get a message on your phone regarding granting authorization to your computer. Click on Yes. If you don't click on yes then you are bound to get the device not found or device offline errors !
While flashing, i got the device not found error a couple of times and i noticed that i hadn't granted authorization to my computer for USB debugging. The authorization window had popped on my mobile and i was too busy looking at my computer screen.
Now, open Device manager on your computer. Click on Scan for Hardware changes. If the drivers are not installed properly then you will see Yellow exclamation marks against your Android phone. Please install the USB drivers for LYF Wind 1. ( Google if you don't have the drivers)
You need to have;
1) ADB and Fastboot installed as Administrator
2) USB drivers for LYF Wind 1 installed
3) Allow OEM Unlocking , enabled via developer options.
4) Enable USB debugging , enabled via developer options.
If all the above things are in order then you shouldn't have any problems rooting LYF Wind 1 with Le Harkunwar's excellent tutorial.

Try a battery pull. Take out the battery and wait for 5-10 seconds. Insert the battery and now try powering up the device.

you need to download stock rom and flash that to make your phone work again. I found this site, zeon22 has also listed a site, but i found this to be more user friendly in downloading files.

I also received the update but I'm not interested in updating since my phone is running fine just now, I don't want to loose root or brick my phone while updating which will most probably be more bloatware(few more apps from reliance jio). I will wait if marshmallow arrives for flashing stock rom if it arrives (although chances are pretty slim). Meanwhile I'm working on a port of cyanogenmod for this device form Yu Yunique, the device from which harkunwar got this twrp from, but I'm still not able to resolve touchscreen driver issue. Info on this device is really limited, and i don't know anything except that this device is from zte.

I'm not rooted or trying. It's completely not working out. No development on this device and it sucks bad... I'm looking to put a Linux machine together but my knowledge is still limited. I got windows 10 laptop already but it's so confusing and hard to setup. I took the new update. Honestly how can I help you out? I can't really do a full back up without root i think so explain to me how and I will help....
I'm not green or anything but there's not root and custom recovery bootloops and is a mess. You know how I help you without a doubt! Just a brief how to.... and I'll be more then happy too

Thank but I bricked my phone two days ago by trying to backdate from latest update using Odin all the other update with (U1) in the build number were able to backdate this one had (U2) in the build number ! Thay changed the bootloader an the modem ! Odin failed but flash in the old modem ! I was able to flash the root program threw Odin an got it to boot ! But had no wi fi or data ! In the end I used flashfire to flash the system file out of old AP file an cvc an got my phone working ! It still has the new bootloader in it but it's working !
An just for the record the root program still works on new firmware ! But I can't repudate until I find the latest firmware file because of the bootloader ! If I try to backdate Odin will just fail an brick my phone again !
