nothing 4 the time being. we wait while devs do there thing with the source code. then they will churn out a kernel configured to work with the desire

Am looking forward to see what devs can do with this

What would happen if we were to put this on oxygen for example????

Well technically they HAVE to release the source code to the kernel since it's a derivative of the Linux kernel and thus releasing the source is required by the GPL.
Is this good?

It could be useful somewhere, but it's not going to help us with the sound issue we are having with custom ROMs right now.
Wow, nice to see we don't have to wait the 90 - 120 days for it.
True... but the speed at which it was released

What if we want to root but keep the stock Rom, will this help with the sound issue and keep H+ connection?

[LEAK] Desire S Rom (Developers only)

Hello everyone,
Paul from modaco has released the leaked rom for Desire S, I hope the developers here can have a look at it and copy the stuff into thier custom roms.
P.S This is not a flashable rom for Desire HD.
DO NOT FLASH THIS ROM ONTO YOUR DESIRE HD
From Paul:
As I posted on my Twitter, here is a HTC Saga (Desire S) Test ROM, extracted from a test RUU.
Points to note:
This is the full ROM with no changes EXCEPT to remove identifying watermarks (at the request of my source)
It's Gingerbread 2.3.2
The boot image is included
This is obviously for developer use.
LINK: http://loadbalancing.modaco.com/download.php?url=paul/saga/saga.1.01.boot.system.tar.gz
Nice! Hopefully this will be faster than that other crappy leak
This is not a beta. But a release Rom

Maybe our funky DHD-Devs could take some of this stuff into the beta leak of the HD-ROM...

Thank you
Hopefully lee can work his magic

Would love the answer to this aswell
No different guys. Cappychimps build is merged with this, I have had it for a few days
Just to clarify.. its not RC, I have decompiled it and ran a diff on the build and the differences are minor

Here is some info from it:
ro.build.display.id=htc_saga-userdebug 2.3.2 GRH78C eng test-keys
ro.build.fingerprint=htc_europe/htc_saga/saga/saga:2.3.2/GRH78C/userdebug/test-keys
ro.product.version=1.05.xxx.x
So it doesn't seems like a final rom based on the userdebug, eng and test-keys strings

Yes i know that. I mean the build versions are similar.
Desire S got the same gpu as DHD right? Maybe there are some good new drivers inside?

I do hope so, since an employee of quadcomm stated that dhd's gpu driver is somewhat "not mature" when being asked about the performance of adreno205 in MWC2011

Kernel Source Code Released

MOD can delete this thread
From my HTC Glacier using XDA App
You are about a year late (based on the date of the post):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=843963
The thread you refer to is about the froyo kernel, 2.6.32. HTC just released the Gingerbread kernel, 2.6.35 not too long ago.

Well I guess I wasn't late then haha but this thread probably should still be deleted. The only people who the source is useful to is devs, and they probably all have it by now anyways.

{For Dev} kernel source code 2.6.35

Htc released the source code, so i am here to share the good news.
This might even help for ics to have the camera working, even tho ics uses kernel 2.6.36 .

Get the HTC ICS RUU
I wonder if any devs can get in touch with HTC and they would be willing to release the RUU to them to work off of, I'm sure the Devs on XDA could use it and rework it to function on the DHD and Inspire
