Well I was screwing around with my gtab, trying to put honeycomb on it, (I was on cyanogenmod) and I knew that I needed to put build 4349 on it. Unfortunately, I put that build on it, and installed my rom, but it didn't work. I decided to do the exact same thing over again, to see if it worked the second time. Halfway through the process, while restarting my gtablet, I had a serious problem. My gtablet will turn on after holding down the power button for about 30 seconds, but the screen is completely black and blank. Also, if I hit the (+) button, it says it will boot a recovery image, but it never does. If I hit the (-) to put it in APX mode for a NVflash, it simply turns off.
PLEASE, I have no idea what to do, because I really don't know what is going on with my tablet. I am just trying to put a honeycomb rom on it, but it seems I have completely screwed it up.
To put it straight: It won't go into APX mode
The screen is supposed to go black and blank when you start up in APX mode. Plug it into your computer and check to see if it is or not.
yea but supposedly it shows the viewsonic logo for a second. Mine when I hit the power button and hold the minus and just hit the power button are both the same. Also, I plug it in and nothing happens.
I tried holding the power for 15 seconds, nothing, if I hit the power for about 5 seconds it turns on that blank screen, if I hit + it says recovery key detected and booting recovery, but nothing happens after that
the black screen is the APX screen, it is blank and black.
You don't see an android symbol first.
my computer never says anything about a tablet without drivers or anything as stated in all guides
It's not unusual for the VS Birds splash screen to get lost during flashing operations that go bad. You also might not get a missing driver message for a number of reasons (especially if the driver isn't missing). So...
If the splash screen is missing, when you turn the tablet on while holding the volume down key the backlight should come on momentarily then the screen will go black. If that happens then you are in APX mode. If you have a linux box handy you can plug it into that and issue an "lsusb" command in a terminal window to verify that. There might be an equivalent for windows but I don't use it so I can't tell you what it would be.
If you are really having that much trouble with it I'd be happy to look at it for you if you cover shipping.
Hi,
I've been running Megatron ROM for the last couple of weeks with no issues. Tonight when I turned on my tablet it offered me a ROM update to 1.1.3, so I downloaded the update, rebooted into recovery and installed the zip.
When the tablet restarted it kept saying "unfortunately system ui has stopped" and I couldn't access the menu buttons at the bottom of the screen. I managed to get the tablet to power off and I was going to boot into recovery, wipe and reinstall the full ROM again but I couldn't get the tablet to power on.
I plugged it into the wall charger and managed to get it to boot (system ui crashed again) so I powered it off again and now it's completely dead.
I've tried to power on with all combinations of the Vol Up/Down and power button, nothing.
I guess I wait for the battery to discharge and try again?
Any other ideas? Am I bricked?
1.1.3 is a update only. Install 1.1.2 from the thread and then 1.1.3
and delete this directory "/data/data/com.android.providers.media"
I can't get the tablet to power up, it's dead!
I'll wait until the battery has discharged and try to power on.

connect the charger. if it doesn't power up, hold the power button until it does
I held the power button for 5 minutes, nothing.
Will try again tomorrow, the battery was at 45% when it died.
Still couldn't get it to turn on this morning, i'll keep trying over the weekend.
If I still can't get it to turn on after a few days I'll try charging it overnight to see if I can revive it. It's looking very bricked at the moment though
Let sit for a full day or so
Plug in the charger to the tf but not the wall and ground it somehow (piece of metal etc.)
Hold the power button for 3-5 mins (to discharge)
Shout, PRAISE ODIN!
Plug in tf to wall for a minute.
Unplug
Hold power.
This is how I revived a Sph-d700 that I had in a really bad state, the odin step is crucial. Good luck.
Is it not even possible to boot into the recovery mode when you only plug the tablet to the PC?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
last case scenario, try and boot into APX and use adb to reinstall your system
I had it attached to my pc last night and tried all combinations of vol-up/down and power, the tablet never appeared in device manager. I understand that APX mode the screen stays blank but something should appear in device manager, right?
I'll see if I can get any life out of it tonight and if not, i'll give it a charge and try again tomorrow.
Thanks for the advice everyone.
Guys, after a 1 hour charge i've managed to get the tablet to boot again.
System UI stops on loading.
I've used adb reboot to get into CWM, the up and down buttons work but the power button doesn't respond. I can't choose any options in CWM.
How should I proceed to get the tablet usable again?

You can use the "touch" recovery. Use the repacked by Roach.
It only read from the internal SD card so put all your files you need to flash there.
Just DON'T use a superwipe script or you'll have nothing to flash.
Right, i've managed to flash Megatron 1.1.2 again, the system ui error is gone.
However, it looks like my power button has failed which would explain why I couldn't turn the tablet on or work with CWM.
I guess I try and flash to stock and contact Asus....
It looks like the power button isn't broken, it just needs to be pressed harder than usual to get the tablet to turn on. I've changed the settings so that the volume rocker wakes the tablet.
Flashed Megatron 1.1.2 then 1.1.3 and we're back in business
Edit: PRAISE ODIN!
Just a quick update, I noticed that my power button was at a slight angle, it looks as though it had slipped and the bit of plastic behind the button was sitting below the actual button on the tablet, meaning that I had to push the button harder to turn it on (if that makes sense).
I got a small bit of blu-tac and pulled the button up, which appears to have reseated it and it's now working as it was before.
Glad to here everything is working again. The question now is why this happened in the first place?
Did you go from 1.0.4 to 1.1.3? I am on 1.1.3 with no issues but as said in the Megatron thread, you have to fully wipe coming from 1.0.4 plus 1.1.2 has to be installed before installing the 1.1.3 update.
I don't know, I was on 1.1.2 and installed the 1.1.3 update then when I rebooted I started to get the UI error. That's really the only problem that I had with Megatron, it would have been easily fixed by just wiping and reinstalling.
It was just at that point that my power button started to play up which confused the issue.
So my phone was acting up a bit (Synergy) so I decided to boot into recovery to wipe Cache. Well, phone failed to do so and now it will not boot bck up. I tried holding the volume down, home, andpower buttons and it looks like it wants to go into download mode (I see the warning with the android guy) but then the screen goes black and the phone is off. Even if I try to boot it regularly, the screen/phone shuts off after just a few seconds- It sows the Galaxy S3 logo for a second and then shuts off. I am at a loss because I can't get the phone to stay on long enough to boot up or even go into recovery/download mode. A few side notes: the phone starts automatically every time I put the battery back in, the battery was at around 75% when this started, I use TWRP for recovery. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I just hope I do't have to send it out for Jtag. Thanks in advance!!
Matt
Update: The phone will turn on only with the SD card removed. I guess I need to start looking into that issue.
My Android 4.0 tablet, model m9000 will not boot. It is stuck on the Android page looping. Was able to use volume up and power keys to turn tablet off, but unable to turn tablet on to bring up the startup menu. Then, I would be able to get to the default settings, and do a reboot. Can someone please help me with this serious issue. Thanks/Zavier180
Take out the battery then put it back in, It should be working fine after that. This also happened to me once. Hope this helped.

OK so 15min ago my phone was working fine.
I plugged it into my computer via USB to I could copy some videos and my PC didn't detect it so I rebooted the phone to see if that would help....
From that point on, it doesn't go past the initial "Samsung" screen. Well, it sort of does... regardless of any button combinations I press while booting up it always goes into a bright write and green screen that isn't normal. It is some sort of ghosted or washed out image.
From there the only thing it responds to is a forced reboot and it loops back to this again.
I've tried every button combo available and they don't respond. I cannot get to the download menu or the recovery menu so I can't reload the ROM or the TWRP recovery.
I've never seen anything like this in over 10 years of rooting phones... and the worst part is that I wasn't making any changes, just doing a reboot.
Any ideas of the problem?
