[Q] Srint TP2 usb repair - General Questions and Answers

I have a sprint touch pro 2 and the USB port used for connecting and charging the device is broken. every time i connect the a cord to my phone the charging led pops up but does not actually connect the device to the pc nor charge it. The port was weak when i got it and had to be angled in order for it to charge. I just wanted to know if a usb repair is easy and if there is a difference in the port in terms of using anyone for any device in it. If not can some one tell me if i have to use a 11pin or different. If you do not recommend me doing it can you direct me to a legitimate service that fixes devices like these.
Thank you for all your help in advance.

[HELP PLEASE!] Phone decting chargers as computers, won't charge.

I need some serious help regarding my phone's charge.
I have the T-Mobile HTC Touch Pro2 (US), and everytime I plug a charger in, it detects it as a computer, wanting to sync. It asks me wich sync options I want to use (you know, the active sink, or disk drive). I have no idea why it's doing that, seeking some help, it won't charge. I've tried many different chargers, including the official one.
judging by what you sating i would guess that there is a connection loose on the usb socket and for some resaon the phone is thinking that there i data being transferred
as this is a hardware fault i would get the unit replaced
There is a chance it could be the cable try any mini usb charger they work with htc devices even though they look slightly different than the cable it comes with. if it still don't work then yea get it replaced on warrenty

I don't say that i can't sync my htc. The USB port is totally dead on the phone! I can't use the htc charger my car charger and any other micro usb cable to charge or connect to a PC.
Today i sent my DS back and waiting for an answer this week.
Also waiting for an explain on the red notification light leaking on the top side of the phone.
This is really wire, and I haven't seen anything like this. Connected to PC with USB cable, DS should jump out some alert to select how to connect your mobile.
If the HW fails, Android has no means of knowing you're attemting to connect anything to the system...this is most likely a HW problem, so sending it back for repair/replacement was the right thing to do

[Q] Bad USB port

Just bought used atrix 2 on ebay, listed as for parts only. Problem was it wouldn't charge. Cleaned usb port with toothpick and alittle electrical contact cleaner. Port works sometimes for charging, but is not picked up by computer. I'm running a dual boot setup on computer, windows vista and ubuntu, and neither picks it up when plugged in with usb cable. Tried multiple cables and no luck. Call me dumb, but it will charge while hooked to computer, but nothing else, I don't get it. I'm assuming it's a hardware problem, is there a way to check this. Thanks for any help in advance. I'm off for more searching.

Defective USB Port? Data connection and Quick Charge not working anymore

Hello,
I recently flashed TWRP and CyanogenMod 13 on my Mi4. It was working quite well, I had some problems with the rotation sensor and some bugs in the software, but Quick Charge and also the Connection to the PC worked without problems.
Today when I was on my way home I was charging my Mi4 with a Qalcomm 2.0 Quick Charge Powerbank from Aukey (i have used it in the past on other phones, always worked great), but it seems that the USB cable was broken, it was charging very slowly and it also seemed to have a defective contact (the cable charged if i moved it around a bit, but in certain positions it wouldn't charge).
However, when i got home and plugged it in, I noticed that the phone also charged very slowly with the charger, so I thought that I would just flash MIUI back on the device to fix it, maybe it was a problem with Cyanogenmod. But that didn't work at all, the phone couldn't connect to the pc.
So, here's my problem: The PC can't detect the phone and it also seems, that the phone doesn't recognize, that its connected to a pc. Charging via the USB ist still working, but very slow. Also Quick Charging isn't working, it doesn't matter which charger or cable I use, it's always slow. When I connect the phone to the charger or the PC it takes like 5 seconds to recognize, that a cable is connected, then it starts (slow) charging.
The phone doesn't show up in the windows device manager at all (there are no unkown devices shown, the pc just doesn't react when you connect the phone). Also there is no message on the phone when you connect it (usually you can choose if you want the use your phone as a usb drive or just charge it). I also tried to activate MTP in the developer settings on the phone and turning USB Debugging On/Off, but it didn't help.
I managed to download a MIUI Rom from xiaomi.eu with the phone and installed it with TWRP, but it didn't help. So I think I actually broke the USB Port of my phone with a defective Micro USB Cable. The phone can still charge (very very slowly, no quick charge possible), but I can't connect it to the PC anymore. The pc also won't detect the phone when it's in fastboot mode.
I tried to look it up on the internet, but all I found were people with driver problems, and I don't think that I have a driver problem, because it seems like there is no connection between PC and Phone besides the charging.
Anyone knows something about this? Is it even possible to just break the data connection and the quick charging with a defective cable?

No, I didn't find a solution for the problem. Phone is still not working, I even ordered a new charging port, but I made a mistake and ordered one for the LTE version. I have the 3g version, so the new charging port didn't even work with my phone. I don't want to spend any more money on it, so I just gave up on fixing it.
Same problem, and I am also stucked in recovery for now, never will buy phone without SdCard now...
Somobody found solution?

Phone only charging on a 2.1 car charger and not connecting in windows

Hey everyone,
Thanks for taking the time to read my post.
My S6 will now no longer charge in the house, Unless im charging it wireless. I have a cigarete charger in the car that has two connections, 1.0A and 2.1A Plugging it into the 1.0 side does nothing but plugging it into the 2.1 side charges straight away, I have Ipad and Iphone chargers aswell and nothing charges it in the house.
Also if I try connect it to my computer I get the following " Unknown USB Device Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)
A request for the USB device descriptor failed.
Can anyone help me please... Its still covered under warranty by samsung till December this year so if I cant resolve it I might try contacting them.
Actually how would I even go about doing that? I live in Ireland by the way.
Thanks
Peace Out lol

have you tried a different cable? And maybe your USB port is somehow broken
I have indeed, tried different cables and different computers.
Sounds like it could possibly be be the port on the phone itself. Only way to tell is to do a factory reset and see if the problem still exists, if it does seeing as it under warranty, If the phone is still under contract call your network provider otherwise you will most likely have to call samsung UK and see which way to go about getting it looked at
Try switching it off and charging? Before resetting.
Mostly a hardware issue, and hopefully a connector issue.
Thanks guys,
I have tried everything that has been suggested, I suppose I will ring Samsung and see what they say.
Try to clean the usb port
It could be dust that prevents a good contact to charge the phone properly
I saved a few phones to be trashed by just cleaning the usb port
Maybe that helps you!
Have a nice day!
