My screen stays lit all the time regardless of which time out setting I have set. I do not have thestay awake while charging box checked under applications>>development.
Any ideas??
Thanks for looking.
You on a custom rom?

this has been happening to me on different roms. Looks like that DoubleTwist Air Sync is causing my screen to stay on. It only happens when i get home.

I need something that will cycle the wifi on my phone on and off at either set times or on a timer. I didn't notice anything in the market for this. Does this exist anywhere?

tasker can do this i think
Ah cool I think this will work nicely. Thanks, didn't think about an automation app.

How would I go about setting a check that would make sure the wifi radio is turned on every fifteen minutes. I need to keep it on even if someone turns it off. I think I have a profile set up to do this, but it only turns it on once. When I turn it off manually tasker never turns it back on. This task stuff is warping my mind haha.

Is anyone else having issues with the auto screen brightness? I'm in bed now with all the lights off and my screen is at it's brightest. As far as I can remember, the screen has never gone dim for me. I have always had to do it manually.

Same problem here.

Mine seems to work. I always thought it worked based on where the bar is set prior to the checkmark.

I use Quick Settings to adjust the brightness. The auto on this phone definitely isn't working correctly.
Mine works just fine. Dim when it's bright around me, bright when it's dark around me.

I feel like mine does change some, but it never seems like it's a really accurate change to the condition... or maybe I just think it does, hmm.

That's backwards. You want the brightness down when it's dark, because less light is needed to see the screen, and up when it's light, because more brightness is needed to see the screen.
I as well have had issues with the auto brightness. It never seems to change. I manually set it, or leverage a widget.
Mine works but it adjusts too frequently. It was annoying to see it going brighter and dimmer every minute or two so I tuned it off and use a widget.
Thanks, Robrecht

Glad to see I'm not crazy and imagining things. Very surprised at how many little quirks HTC let slip by on the thunderbolt.

I have always disliked auto-brightness. At night when I'm reading a book in bed, it is just way too bright at the lowest auto-bright setting. Though it was nice to automatically brighten up when I'm outside. Now days, I just stick an Android power control on the home screen and manage it myself. 0% for when I'm in bed reading books, 30% for normal every day use, 100% for when I'm outside. It seems to help the battery quite a bit too.
Its best to adjust it manually anyways... Just add a widget on your home screen lolz
What's best is not always whats preferred. It's little things like auto not working that make me miss my cyanogen'd droid 1

I don't see a stay awake mode while charging under development in settings... Any one know how to keep the screen on while charging??

Look for app "stay awake" in the market.

What is the purpose of staying awake?

probably to stop the screen from turning off while you're using the phone when it's plugged in.
It also seems useful when reading stuff online. There are so many times when I'm reading a really long article or something and since I'm a slow reader I have to keep slowly scrolling down the page every time the screen dims to make sure it doesn't turn off.
Yeah. I like the screen automatically cutting off sometimes, but when I'm reading stuff and I just happen to not read as fast as Samsung wants me to... poof... a black abyss.
When I started using my Charge today, I discovered two odd problems with it.
Firstly, when I press the lock button (from a locked state), the screen starts dim and then brightens. When the screen is dim, it is completely unresponsive until it brightens about a second later. This isn't particularly horrible, but it is kind of annoying.
Second, I can't rotate my phone anymore. I've checked the settings and the notification tray and they both have auto rotate enabled. It isn't tied to any app as it happens accross the phone.
Both of these issues started today and I didn't make any big changes to my phone. I'm running GummyCharged 1.9.1 (flashed the full Odin) and I'm planning on just flashing it again if no one has any ideas to fix this. Thanks for any help!

The dim would appear to be normal as my phone does it as well although I wouldn't say it takes a full second before its responsive.
As for auto rotate, try deleting ms3c_yamaha.cfg from /data/system and reboot.

I added .bak to the end of the file, rebooted, and both problems are fixed. The screen is still dim and then brightens upon hitting the lock button, but it is now immediately responsive.
Thanks for the help!

Hey,
Since a couple days ago, my note screen is always on.
It doesn't lock itself or dim itself automatic.
I changed my time-out time to 15sec and have that "camera screen on feature" off.
Can someone help me out here, because it's really annoying and drains my battery

You haven't downloaded anything that would force the screen to stay on? That is the only thing I can think of.
Sent from my GT-N8010 using xda app-developers app
some news-mags apps do force screen on. See in settings of apps You installed immediately before ........................
Just had to reboot, was a long time ago since 1 first rebooted
