UPDATE 4/10/11: Added v8 which is the most recent test build done by deeznotes (thanks!) for the fascinate, ported to mesmerize and showcase thanks to dfgas and myself (and thanks to all of the others from the original posts since we wouldn't be where we are without them!). Here is deeznotes' changelog for this build;
http://www.deeznotes.com/android/CHANGE_LOG-miui-fascinate-1.3.x-2.2-en.txt
Through a wonderful breakthrough by phidelt82 and a gutsy experiment from me, we discovered that the wonderful work done by Jamezelle and fascinate crew with the port of MIUI can and is now able to be used by us mesmerize users!
Biggest Thanks to jamezelle+crew, and also l3ttuc3 for a all-nighter full of hard work and learning, dfgas, phidelt82, dcow and any others I may have missed + everyone in the IRC chat because without you this stuff would not happen! - Also thanks to JT for the padding fix and for the awesome AOSP voodoo kernel that I've packaged in this rom and all the awesome work he does!
There are some things fascinate is still working on, and is the only reason we are calling this an ALPHA - hopefully the two teams can work together to correct these issues in the future! I myself am using this as a daily driver!
NOTE: FOR CHANGE LOGS AND OTHER INFO CHECK OUT THE ORIGINAL POST HERE
Known to be Working:
calls
mute for calls
usb mass storage (UMS)
data
wifi
sms
bluetooth (file transfer & Motorola S10-HD works)
audio
market and gapps
AOSP camera (b&w preview) (turn off autofocus!)
sdcard mount
browser
accelerometer
proximity sensor
autobrightness (ambient light sensor)
miui music and lockscreen music controls
GPS & Network Location
MIUI backup
MIUI File Explorer PC Sync (FTP)
Youtube HQ works for some vids, still a bit laggy
in call volume
softkey vibrate (haptic feedback)
voodoo conversion (no voodoo lady voice though)
Theme Manager (Download through this, do not use theme downloader it doesn't work)
maybe more stuff.....
Currently NOT Working:
Bluetooth
MMS
Video Camera
youtube HQ
Torch/Flashlight in notification bar
Possible other quirks
Theme Downloader (use theme manager as noted above, i'ts not included in v8)
Semi-Working;
Camera - Doesn't seem to take full 5 mp pictures but they are decent quality - preview is black and white.
Known Issues:
Icons are updated after a reboot. When flashing, reboot the phone to get the icons to update.
When receiving a call, the phone will ring but there is a delay waking the screen. Press the power button to get the screen to wake up instead of letting calls go to voicemail.
INSTRUCTION:
STANDARD NANDROID BACKUP PROCEDURE, ALSO UNDERSTAND THAT IF YOU NEED TO RESTORE TO A DIFFERENT ROM, YOU WILL NEED TO FLASH THE EC10 KERNEL YOU WERE ON PREVIOUS AS NANDROIDS DO NOT RESTORE THEM AND IT WILL NOT BOOT ON THE AOSP KERNEL.
Disabling lagfix is optional per JT
Place .zip on SD card. May want to export your contacts to SD card or have them on google, I haven't verified that a restore from TitaniumBackup would work
Boot into recovery and do a factory reset/wipe data. Also wipe cache partition.
Select "install zip from SD card", navigate to the MIUI zip you downloaded.
Install - you will see the script scroll and the neat MIUI ASCII ending done by the fascinate guys.
Reboot - It will take some time to load - then enjoy the goodness

Testing quick, i'm not even sure i just copied that out of his post.
You guys rock, awesome job. I'll think about switching... wish I had internet though. All these roms and things are eating up my data plan!
Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk
I pulled the link for tonight as I didn't have recovery set up correctly in the rom, if you downloaded you just need to use odin to flash recovery and you're all set. Will have a link tomorrow if not sooner!
Is this like a smoking fast rom or what because the look is way to crapple for me just wondering

So when can we expect this to come out? Also thank you guys for ur hard work!
Not Working

Thanks dcow - Theme downloader was working before we did the last round of edits for sms and the market - theme manager works - we'll have to see how we broke it. Also I had no issues with USB mass storage either, haven't gotten to test yet on this build.
And the voodoo chick is not talking in this build, and I pulled v5 from fascinates MIUI which was their latest build that was posted.
Mesmerbilly - google MIUI - it's much more than a fast ROM and the look is customizeable through the ROM itself - what i posted is just the stock theme.
Also not working:
pandora
google listen
the silence/vibrate settings are weird, but that's not really broken per se
i suppose i should provide a little detail.
pandora thinks it works, but it doesn't make any noise.
google listen straight up doesnt work. it just always says there was an error.
also, like the other aosp build, when you put the speaker on max volume it's too loud and makes me worry the speaker is going to break. lol
Hurry up and get the download back up! Haha I'm anxious to flash this. Looks great. Keep up the awesome work

Did you guys make sure to swap out the /system/lib/libhardware_legacy.so with one from a stock 2.2 mesmerize rom. that should fix random reboots and probably more issues you guys are having that the fascinate isn't having.

any idea why the showcase test version would send text and everything else works (that works on the mes build), but it wouldn't receive text...
Aw, my phone was acting up and I was gonna make the jump to trying this out. Lol guess I might as well fix it.

Make sure the changes in /lib and /bin were made, as well as the edit's to the framework.jar - if all that has been done and verified, then we'll have to look into it further .

Hahaha, same here..
we'll call it GingerFriday..
Thanks Ice&Fire for this contribution...
I'll be happy to test & try your ROM.
in nadlabak GB "CM7" post there is a fix for Google Apps; whats the story here?
Nice work Iceandfire, just downloaded ROM, and will install it in a couple of minutes!
Let's all welcome Gingerbread on our Mielstones...!
Tomorrow i will post first impressions.
A quick question: Is the Greek-Latin_IME Gingerbread keyboard implemented?
Thanks
Edit: During install, through OpenRecovery I got an error message. I rebooted though and everything seems to work properly. I have Android 2.3.2 installed in my Milestone.
Does apps2ext work on this ROM?
data restore works but i dont see gmail or facebook i flashed the new google apps for cm7 what is the problem???
ok installed gmail and facebook from market but they just fc everytime i try help pls ok i did a full wipe and flashed new gapps its downloading everthing from the market ..after gunna reboot and try data restore again
many problems with this release.
-sluggish performance, doesn't feel as snappy as previous release
-no g-apps support (applying the CM g-apps pack doesn't work, neither does the CM6 g-apps)
-trouble connecting to wi-fi and to my home network (telus) with multiple ril types
-applying themes creates a boot loop
-colours of wifi and radio are inconsistent (sometimes grey, sometimes green)
- gingerbread effects work sometimes (orange gradient on scrolling screens works sometimes.. trying to figure out circumstance.. the "old TV turn off" animation is sometimes cut off, or holds too long)
- General stability and compatibility issues (MANY force closes on launcher pro and market, facebook, gmail and maps refuse to download)
I'm back to 1.0.3 for now, but I'm going to watch these releases like a hawk.
I'd love to see a built in updater (like the one found in the Oxygen mod for the HTC Desire)
Keep up the great work, I'm sure I speak for more than just myself when I say THANKS FOR YOUR EFFORT!!!!

Did you perform a data wipe and dalvik wipe? Coz im not having a single problem from the ones you reported! Facebook works, gmail doesn't FC, wifi never disconnects, themes apply fine!
People google apps are directly from CM not from me. So i cant really answer on their behalf.
hey buddy..nice job on porting it...
i was intrigued by ur changelog which says Multitouch 4. AFAIK the new moto kernel don't support more than 2 touchpoints. Did u use an older kernel version?

Nope it doesn't have. The best way to test is to download an app called multitouch tester from the market. The Nov kernel and the old got 2.2.1. release kernel had 4pt multitouch.

- No problem with Google Apps. Installed the package for CM7 after I wiped Dalvik/Cache and everything works fine.
- No problem with my WiFi Network
- Very stable since last night, I only get Force Close from one specific app but I suspect it isn't updated to support Android 2.3 yet.
Maybe you should Wipe everything again and re-install GApps CM7
+1 on the idea of a Built-in Updater, over WiFi...!
That would be really awesome!

Ever since my laptop crashed with Vista, which also happened to bork my recovery, I've been running Linux (Ubuntu 10.10) on it. Since I was now running Linux natively on my laptop, I decided to try to cook a ROM just to do it. With that said, I'd like to introduce to you my very first attempt at cooking with Android... Ginger_FauxICS (v.Alpha3.1).
This ROM was built using kushdeck's gingerbread-hero-deck 1.3 as a base. The only thing I added was a Juwell's RAM optimization script which I had modified ever so slightly, ACS's ICSLauncher, and Pins Music Mod. From the Ice Cream Sandwich system dump, I also added the ICS bootanimation, font, and some icons. I also swapped out some pngs in the framework-res.
For that all around ICS look, you can also flash DameonAndMeagan's ICS Ring Lock Mod which you can grab from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1312431
This was originaly a ROM that I baked for a friend of mine since my Hero is no longer activated. When I flashed it on my friend's phone, everything worked and it seems to be running pretty snappy.
Please note that I am in no way a developer of any kind. I'm just a dood that likes to tinker with electronics. All I did was piece together different elements created by the hardworking devs of our awesome community. All the credit goes to them.
Some features:
ICS themed CM7.1 (Launcher, Fonts, Icons, etc.)
Ram Optimization
Deodexed
Apps2Ext
and more...
Also here's a video of an older version of this ROM in action:

- Clockworkmod Recovery 4.xxxx and above
- For Apps2ext (Optional):
Class 4 SDHC at the very least
512Mb ext 4 partition
96 MB swap
Changelog:

- Added Updated Market v3.3.11
10/31/2011 (Beta1)
- Updated version of ICSLauncher and other little things...
10/25/2011 (Alpha3.1)
- Initial Release
Installation Instructions:
- Download ROM from here:
http://sirthumpalot.blogspot.com/2011/10/rom-overview-drews-gingerfauxics.html
- Place ROM on the root of your sdcard
- Put phone into recovery
- Navigate to "Backup and Restore" and backup your current setup first (Optional but I always backup just in case"
- Once fully backed up, wipe data, cache, and dalvik cache twice. I wipe twice just because I'm OCD like that.
- Go to "Format and Mount" and format boot, cache, data, and system. (If you're curently running and ext4 partition on your sdcard already, you may also want to format the sdext as well)
- From there, flash the ROM (gapps with vvm already baked into the ROM)
- You're done.
**User TIPS**
Per InsaneHien
- ROM can be flashed using Darchstar's Amon RA recovery if you resign the zip using PPCGeeks Android APK & Zip Signer program
- Enabling 16-bit transparency in advanced settings speeds up homescreen scrolling
**Known Issues**
Per gidkid - "When you tap the soft home button on the launcher while on the main homescreen, when you return from the helicoptor view, the soft buttons and the app drawer button are gone. They return with a quick reboot of the launcher, or after some time using other apps..."
Solution: Another solution other than restarting the launcher is also simply pressing the back button. That worked for me anyway.
Also per gidkid - "...while scrolling the app drawer, there are some hangups..."
Solution: I'm not sure how to fix this as of yet as it may be an issue caused by how the launcher app reacts to our phone's device limitations. I'll see if I can work something out.
If you dig this ROM and would like to donate to this project, please donate to the Devs listed above instead (Their donation links should be listed in their corresponding URLs). They work hard to enhance the user experience we get from our devices and for that we owe them a debt of gratitude.
If you wish, you can also feel free to donate to the OccupyWallStreet Movement (http://occupywallst.org). Just like many others in this country, I've been struggling to find work and have lost my house to foreclosure. I believe the political and economic foundation of our great country no longer works for the people as it was originally intended, thus, we must work towards changing the overall state of affairs. We must hold onto what makes this country great. Work towards, once again, having a government of the people, for the people, by the people. We are the 99%. Thanks for reading.

Looks amazing. Always good to see something new around this forum. Thanks! I'll try it out and report back soon. If everything runs well, this could be a great ROM.
Just flashed this, and it was kinda slow until I enabled 16-bit transparency in the advanced settings. Now the scrolling speed on home screen is fast.
Also, this works with Amon's RA recovery. The ROM just needs to be signed so that it'll flash.

In regards to getting it to flash with Amon RA, did you have to change the script type for it to work?
So far, I'm liking this ROM. It looks nice, and while it was a bit of a shock going back to AOSP/CM after a while with Sense, it was worth it for the ICS looks.
It's not slow, not by a long shot. It's not perfectly smooth, either, and, especially while scrolling the app drawer, there are some hangups, with or without 16 bit scrolling enabled.
The one little bug I found was that when you tap the soft home button on the launcher while on the main homescreen, when you return from the helicoptor view, the soft buttons and the app drawer button are gone. They return with a quick reboot of the launcher, or after some time using other apps, but it's slightly inconvenient while they're gone.
Other than that, great ROM, great contribution. I'll be running this as my daily pending GPS and other tests.

I appreciate the detailed feedback. I believe you can simply press the back button when the soft buttons and app drawer disappear. I'm not sure what causes that unfortunately and I may not be able to look into it anytime soon cuz I have about two weeks to pack up my entire house to move. I'll see what i can do. I'm glad ya dig it. Cheers!

Neat! I'll flash it the moment it's available. I don't know if you're taking requests but I'm going to make a couple anyway, maybe for future versions.
1) Disable the battery full alert.
2) Fix the volume rocker to go all the way down to full silence without vibration.
With or without these features, this looks like it'll be my next rom. Thanks!

The modem's available in OTA... if you odin back to EC05 modem and then flash the EI22 modem update it should be good to go.
Now whether or not someone can create a .tar ball from this is still a waiting game... If it doesn't surface by tomorrow, I'll probably get on it.

I use STOCKY-ISH_ROM_v6.T1 before returning to the froyo firmware
and, I think it is "hardware problem" in my Epic GPS signal reception

I would agree, cm7 gave me the best lock, then I tried Stocky-ish the latest release with the fascinate gps files and locked 6 out of 8 which is good enough. On cm7 I did get 11 out of 11.

Cant wait to try this out. Thanks so much for your hard work!
Downloading now. Can't wait to get my GTalk video rocking!...... and other gingerbready goodness too!
Update 1:
CANDY CORN!!!!!
Update 2:
Music is working (FLAC).
The hotspot app isn't modded (already mentioned in a previous post).
The first boot took a little while, while the word "Android" flashed... give it a minute or two.
The screen rotate feature is so fast it's sexy. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS! the 3 second rotate on other roms was killing me.
The camera app and Gallery works for both pics and video.
PEAP authentication is listed for wifi login which can be hit or miss depending on the ROM. THANKS! The WIFI connected instantly and works.
The GPS got a fix WITHOUT WIFI LOCATION HELP in under 20 seconds in Google Maps to within 20 meters. It centered in on the front of my house (which is where I am lol)
The compass works.
3 bars of cell signal (normal)
Update 3:
The lock screen looks right in landscape AND portrait mode. Haven't come across a ROM that can do both that I recall.
GTalk video chat WORKS!!! It bogs the phone down a bit, but nevertheless, it works!
The hardware keyboard is working flawlessly. No skipping of keys. Did you patch the keyboard, or is my typing just better than usual?
Bluetooth sync'd without issue... Didn't even ask for the "0000" password
Phone calls are improved over bluetooth (subjective, I know, but people were having a hard time hearing me on Froyo ROMs over bluetooth.)
No crashes yet, but I've only had it running for 20 minutes.
Update 4:
Super user permissions work
The market app works
Google+ is pre-installed and works, but had an update in the market. Youtube did as well.
The speaker works.
I have to say... First impressions are VERY good. The one thing that's really sticking out here is the speed. There are no delays at all (save GTalk video) in anything I do on this phone. Thanks for all the hard work, Joshua! I'm going to hold on to this ROM for awhile to come I think.
Off topic, but I just realized that I joined in January of 2009, and this is my FIRST POST! WTH was I doing all this time?! I always login, but I guess I've just never been this excited about a ROM. :-/
Update 5:
Not really sure how to tell, but I had a question. Have you removed Carrier IQ or should I flash the nociq zip from this post?
Update 6:
God I love updates! I read that you want to remove CIQ in one of the first posts. Check the link in post 5. k0nane just got the package up. I'll flash it to see if it bricks the OS now.
Update 7:
The nociq patch installed correctly, and the phone is back up and running. I'm not sure what if any visual changes there are, but apps still work, I still have cell signal, and the only thing outside the normal is the black helicopter with the sprint logo hovering outside my window....I uhhhh gotta go... tell my family I love them!!!
Are you using the stock kernel with your rom?

CREDITS:
First and foremost, a huge thanks to the guys at Samfirmware for making this possible!
This rom incorporates the work of many AndroidCentral and XDA users.
Huge thanks to the development community.
This is Open Source!
Want to make or edit your own personal rom?
Take a look at my personal kitchen!
Known Issues:- If your sdcard does not have a folder called "clockworkmod", you must create it prior to installation. It should exist if you've ever made a Nandroid backup.
- 4G Toggle button exists in scroll-able toggle mod.
- 4G Toggle button is missing from the 9-lock mod, to enable 4g, have to go into Settings>Wireless and Network>4G Settings>4G (turn on 4g) or get a widget from the market
You've got questions, here's some answers!
Can't figure out how to make the battery percentage appear in 9-lock?
It's under Settings > Lockscreen Settings > Statusbar Settings
Want the battery icon, and not just the percentage?
Same deal as before, except you have to hide battery icon, and then un-hide it. Wait a moment.
I really miss my old transparent messaging app, can I have that back?
You can now! I've just released a few variations of transparent Gingerbread messaging!
How do I use my own ringtone, alarm, and notification mp3s?
Create a folder on your SD card called "media".
Inside of that create "audio".
Inside of that create:
"ringtones" for ringtones.
"alarms" for alarms.
"notifications" for notifications.
Ah, Swype.

Unfortunately, since the Froyo version that initially came on our phone, we've been employing the latest and greatest versions with better features. But all of them have still been betas, and apparently this particular one expired today. I do not know if, or how to modify it to avoid expiration. Nor do I currently know where to pickup the next available version. Instead, I recommend doing what I have just finished doing. Install the swype beta installer.
Here's how:
1. First, using a file explorer delete the following files:
- /system/app/Swype.apk
- /system/lib/libswypecorexxxxx.so [the x's stand in for the exact number]
2. Next, head here to download the installer.
3. The rest is pretty self explanatory.
You do have to sign up to be a tester if you're not already, I have been for some times. I assure you, it's a harmless process and won't flood your email account.
I wish I could make this easier, but for some time now, Swype has only been releasing beta versions and they will all expire at some point. If anyone has a newer working Swype I can use in the next version, I'll look into it.
As a bonus, if you follow my instructions, then your Swype personal dictionary will carry into the new Swype beta!
How Do I Use This ROM?
Regularly updated installation information available on the download page.
Random you mentioned in the other thread that Gtalk video works and it does but is that without being able to switch to front facing camera?
EDIT: I know I was supposed to thank you for this rom I assumed you knew I have been on EC05 Hawk. Also was I supposed to say "first"
Looks great RandomKing..
My time on the Epic 4g has passed but my wife still has hers and this is definitely a ROM I will be considering and trying out on her device since she's waiting for me to update her to GB and get off EC05...
Great work!
I was confused for a moment but then I realized that you gave EI22 its own thread. Haha!

I'm loving the ROM so far. I've already flashed a few others just to try out and Thunderhawk has been the winner for me so far. I do have a question though: is anyone else having any issues with wifi randomly turning off and on? I made sure that in the settings it is set to never turn off.

This... Not tryina nic-pic but that standard GB batter indicator just isn't cutting it.. I guess my question would be if there is a theme in the theme section of the forums that would work with this rom. I know we are waiting on the lockscreen mod from maddoggin but is there something I can use temporarily?
Also, Randomking, I saw in the other thread that you said it was the TH2.0 Rom that had the sexy black keyboard... How would I go about pulling the keyboard from 2.0 and installing it in 3.0.5? Yes... I'm a newb at all this stuff but thanks to you all, i'm learning quite quickly!

I'm not fully acquainted with framework-res modifying, so I generally wait until I find a suiting one and then modify it in-line with my own requirements. So... soon.
As far as the keyboard, open the .zip file, and under /System/App you'll find Swype.apk. Just drag it into the matching spot of the other .zip. I recommend using 7zip.

It has the AIO Hotspot, Volume, CRT, and Overscroll Glow features, but no Lockscreen mod yet.
When I can put in everything I require, I will remove the WIP tag from the title and fully modify the OP, until then, the screenshots are slightly inaccurate. Working on it. Version 3.1 will be the first full version.
been running this rom for a few hours now with no problem. My 3g speeds are faster on this rom for some reason (im on cricket not sprint). thanks for all your hard work.

Ok... So dont mess with the theming just yet... gotcha...
Now with the keyboard. I located the TH2.0 zip on my harddrive... Opened it, found the Swype.apk and moved it to my desktop...
Is there a way for me to copy the Swype apk to my SD card and push it in using ES File Explorer or will I have to actually drag and drop it into the TH3.0.5 Zip and then reflash?
**edit**
Just tried to push it using EX File Explorer and got mad force closes when I disabled Go KB and enabled Swype... Dragged and dropped Swype apk into the system/app folder of TH3.0.2 and i'm about to reflash... *crosses fingers*
**edit**
Still no go... Flashed using Clockwork and upon the first boot I got a Swype FC. I guess i'll stick with Go Keyboard for now...
I had to use root explorer es wouldnt work for some reason. just copy the file to root system/app
you might try going into settings, applications, manage, all, swype ... clear data.
So it isn't trying to use data saved by the other apk.
what is the best way way to flash this, I currently using ThunderHawk 2.3.4
thanks

I ended up using Root Explorer because when I tried to paste it in using ES, it would paste but Swype wouldn't show up in my list of keyboards.
Can you confirm that the keyboard from TH2.0 is the sexy black one? Is that the one you moved over?

I didn't even think of that, but I also dropped the Swype apk from the 2.0 rom into the system/apps folder of 3.0.5 and then just reflashed the rom and still got FC's as soon as the phone booted up.

Ok with that said, this ROM is no longer supported by anyone besides myself. I am just trying to make improvements and add fixes for this already great ROM. So if you have issues direct them to me and not to any of them. As always I am just doing this to learn and this is a great ROM with tons of customization.
Current Known Issues:
a2dp might still be broken, I added some fixes but I have no way of testing it.
It might not work with the latest baseband, I added some fixes but I am currently on the old baseband.
Some of the settings in God Mode do not function or are severely outdated. I left them there just for nostalgic reasons. I may update them in future releases. These settings are: News, addons, and ROMs. These Settings have no effect on the customization or performance of the ROM, they are just old links.
Old Bugs that I fixed:
Fixed inverted FFC
Added T9 dialer (CM)
Added fixes for baseband compatibility and a2dp
Redid the layout of the Settings Menu with ICS like layout.
Fixed some compile errors.
If you find any bugs I have overlooked please let me know and I will try my best to fix them.
Install Instructions:
1. Download OMFGB and gb gapps
2. Reboot Recovery
3. Wipe Data/factory reset
4. Wipe Dalvik cache
5. Install OMFGB
6. Install gapps
7. Reboot and enjoy.
Yes this ROM requires you to flash gapps. They are currently not included.

Add-Ons
These are Faux's Kernels I take no credit for them. All the old links are broken so I re-uploaded them. Currently these are the only kernels that will work.
Overclocked and Undervolted
Faux's p999-DS-Kernel-0.4.3 OC/UV
Stock Voltage
Faux's p999-DS-Kernel-0.4.3-sv
Things I intend to do with this rom:
Get a2dp and new baseband fully working. (if they are not already)
Update the kernel version
Possibly add on more lockscreens and features.

There is plenty of ICS roms. A lot of users don't like ICS ROMs due to the bugs and issues they have. I'm not new, just been busy with real life and other projects.
Can you please port this to the LG optimus 2x
Is there a chance that you can port this over to the lg optimus 2x p990 because i really used to love this rom but our version is outdated now? thanks

Yes, I can look into it once I am certain I have a2dp fixed.

I added some stuff related to it. If it actually fixed it or not I am not sure. I also do not know if owains fix will work or not since this is GB, and his fix is for ICS. If it doesn't work I can put one together that might work for now until I can get it right in source.

**edit, it might take a little while longer, not getting a good 4g connection at work and cant get to mediafire from my work pc. plus mediafire seems to be having issues

Alright, making a mirror. Owains fix may work with any rom, but tbh im not sure because I have never used it. I have been using my own custom roms for the past month and been using the old baseband.

mediafire finally kicked in, flashing it now
Owain's zip does work on it. Works on cm7.
Also, does this ROM get updated much?

As much as I get time to update it.
I used to love this rom on the vibrant, nice one kwes!
Owain's fix worked for me when using temesek's cm7 rom (which I am currently) A confirmation on the new baseband functionality would be great. Also do you know if the cm7 LG cam port would work with this? I'm sure it would be a 'test and find out' situation also.
And of course, your work is always very much appreciated =)

ok, first of all this thing boots fast as hell!!!
second, it runs hot
third, no calling. im on the new baseband and could not make a call, got the static motor-boat noise on both ends of the call (i think there was an update to the new BB that LG put out that i did not try though)
i tried owains fix, but that put my phone into a boot loop. it may work on CM7 but it looped my phone with this rom
couple of other things
stock launcher has no shortcut to change wallpapers when you long press the homescreen. installing holo restored that
3G icon instead of 4G or the even an H
no file manager
i like the boot animation and default wallpaper, did not try bluetooth or any tethering
i will get the LG update to the baseband and try again to see if that works (without owains fix and with, just to see if it still boot loops)

I have a 4g symbol.
The only thing I found not working is lockscreen. I'm going to see if its a bad install or something tho.
Edit. Working now

You can switch the 4g and H icons in the god mode app. I know they are working because I been using it for about a week. There is tons of file managers on the market, so there is not really a need to add one to a aosp based rom.
As for the stock launcher the wallpapers can be accessed via the settings hard key, I was thinking about hacking in an option in the popup though. The stock launcher is highly customizable, it is not just a normal gb launcher. Although I did notice the wallpaper thing and it bother me since Im used to longpress to change it.
Im about to throw a little add on package together that MIGHT fix the baseband.
