Hey everyone, I just got my xoom today and i seem to be having a terrible time getting any sort of download working through the browser. All the apk files are downloaded as .htm files, all of the jpg files are also downloaded as .htm files. Am I doing something wrong?

I have a bunch of .mobi files on my computer, a Mac, and I was hoping to move them to my Xoom. I have downloaded the Android File Transfer App, but I do not see a folder for the Kindle App or for Documents.
Does anyone know how I can transfer .mobi files from my Mac to the Xoom so that I can read it on my Kindle?
Thank you
I found a way to get the files onto the Xoom and into the Kindle app.
1. Use Dropbox to move the file onto the Xoom
2. Use OI File Manager to move the file from the Dropbox directory to the Kindle directory
That process seemed to work.
Drop the .mobi files in /mnt/sdcard/kindle. If the directory isn't there then make it or download a sample from a book on the kindle store. If the kindle app is running, then you'll have to force quit it and then relaunch it for the new books to be seen.
I was trying to find a way to open .swf files which are locally saved.
My primary thought was using an html file in which I would link the desired .swf file.
When trying to open the html file via IE10 the file was blocked from IE and didn't load.
I then added the local drive path (C:\) as an exception to IE's whitelist with the method shown in this thread but again Flash didn't load.
After some more unsuccessful tests I finally ended up playing the .swf file when I opened the html file using Word 2013!
The file had its full functionality with no lag or other problems.
Only drawbacks found in this method was that Flash file didn't extend to fit the whole screen and that you are dependent on Word to play the file.
I know that it's not a proper method on playing .swf's, but it's an indication that Flash plugin could be enabled for local files.
So, do you have any other suggestions on playing locally saved Flash files or adding an exception on IE's whitelist for local path?
I have an APK from an app for power rangers card scanning. It is used with the camera to scan cards and plays a clip. I know that it has a list of URLs to the video clips that are stored on a website in the APK. I noticed a classes.dex in it and several other xml files. I'm thinking the classes.dex may contain the list of URLs, but even after using dex2jar and JD Decompiler, there really isn't anything to open in the decompiled file.
Is there a better way to go about this? The link is here to the apk: http://www.sendspace.com/file/kwy6u2
Hey,
because all the files from my university come in the PDF Format I was thinking if there is a way to manage those files better on a rooted android device such as the sony Xperia z3 tablet.
Is it possible to save PDF files that you download with the chrome browser in a separate Folder? So that you don't get a bunch of PDF files into the download folder? I want chrome to automatically save PDF files in the folder "pdf" for example so I can easily find each pdf file.
Is that possible?
I've been on ios for the last 6 months and finally came back to android. When navigating to files on my pc via my phone I used to be able to choose which app I wanted to use to open a file, particularly video. Now it seems es file will automatically open an mp4 file without giving me an option. I've reset any defaults for the app. My problem is it seems to take forever to load the mp4 to play. Just looking for some guidance.
Thanks
I must be the only one I guess.
